51 On-Street Parking: CHPTF Recommendations Parking designations should differentiate between all-day parking and short-term parking and locate it according to need Install meters throughout campus area to encourage the use of public transportation and to provide continuous revenue Provide free very short-term parking (20 minutes) on Thayer Street to encourage in-out retail activities Increase the use of Public transportation through institutional support, improved routes, and better promotion Reduce parking demand by encouraging carpooling, ridesharing, bicycle commuting, etc. Improve safety & efficiency of the street with better signage, markings, and a delivery program Increase parking enforcement
