5 TOWN CENTER A global requalification of the historic area around Meaux Cathedral Actions to improve the quality of housing with different objectives : fighting against substandard housing, putting new housing units back on the market, improve the energy performances in organizing awareness operations, in accompanying owners and finding financial aids for them Old center renovation A global action on the public space to make the city center more attrative in enhancing the urban setting, heritage and landscape elements and in making these places accessible and legible A development of the shopper and touristic traffic in accompanying shops and local services

7 7 New business park 2009 ECO DISTRICT «HYPHEN» More than new diverse housing units in an enhanced living environment with development projects by sub-sectors taking into account the immediate environment and the requalification/ creation of new animated public spaces One requirement : rebuilt the city on itself optimizing local resources and all existing services and limiting the impacts inherent to urban development Strengthening the performance of new buidings Extension of the urban heating network powered by geothermal energy New storm water treatment Functional mixity to reduce transport use Improvement of public transport, pedestrian areas and cyclist lanes for a better space sharing 80 hectares to unify the city Eco district

8 ECO DISTRICT «HYPHEN» Eco-district Foch-Roosevelt, place where the urban heating network could be reused : 80% of the housing unit equivalents. More than half Meaux s housing stock connected to the geothermal heat network. Geothermal energy represents more than 60% of the energy mix.
