FORMAN Research Professor Harvard University, Graduate School of Design, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02138, USA Professor Forman is often considered a father of landscape ecology and also of road ecology, and now helps spearhead urban ecology. His primary scholarly interest links science with spatial pattern to interweave nature and people on the land. Other research interests include town ecology, changing land mosaics, conservation and land-use planning. He teaches a graduate ecology course in the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and formerly taught ecology & land-use planning in Harvard College. He is also affiliated with the Harvard University Center for the Environment and The Harvard Forest.
