Practical research for sustainable agriculture in desert conditions - the Even Ari Farm of the Desert Research Institute, runoff Water Department, in collaboration with the Permaculture Research Institute of Australia. Landscape rehabilitation for the Beer-Sheba Ramat Hovav railway line o Managing negotiations and preparing contracts for subcontractors. o Managing work groups in the field. o Managing and coordinating the work of sub-contractors: earthworks, felling and transplanting trees, landscape rehabilitation, constructing water carriers and stone cleaning walls. 2
3 o Planting and hydro seeding desert vegetation: a unique rehabilitation project in Israel, using desert plans in the first time for local rehabilitation and preventing soil erosion. o Process audit and quality control for collection of local plant material: preparing a work timetable, control of the area, quality control, in collaboration with the Volcani Center. Landscape rehabilitation for upgrade of the Beit Shemesh-Jerusalem track, sector C o Managing negotiations and preparing contracts for subcontractors. o Managing work groups in the field. o Managing and coordinating the work of sub-contractors: earthworks,transplanting trees, landscape rehabilitation, constructing water carriers and stone walls. o Coordinating work in a sensitive nature reserve: with representatives of the National Parks Authority, the Nature Protection Society, the Green Police (Ministry of the Environment), JNF and a landscape architect. o Preparing hiking paths o Planting and hydro seeding Mediterranean vegetation: local collection of plant material, cultivating plants, supply and implementation. o Identifying and preserving unique landscape sites and sites of historical value. o Rehabilitation along the railway line: covering slopes with stripped soil, stabilizing land and slopes to prevent erosion, oxygenizing rocks cuts, rook paved water wais of local stone, cleaning walls on berms (of various heights), metal safety nets, hydro seeding, planting local vegetation. o Rehabilitation of organization areas: adjustment to local topography, covering with stripped soil, replacing local vegetation. o Rehabilitation of storage areas for piles of earth: adjustment to local topography, covering with stripped soil, replacing local vegetation. o Rehabilitation of areas where surplus excavated material was stored and crushed: adjustment to local topography, covering with stripped soil, replacing local vegetation. o Finding landscape solutions for surplus soil: in conjunction with the landscape architect and representatives of the Nature Reserves Authority. 3
4 o Adjusting and finding landscaping solutions following changes in plans: initiating solutions, obtaining approval from the landscape architect and representatives of the National Parks Authority. o Preparing and approving accounts with the project management. o Submitting price analyses and approving changes in plans and specifications: working with the project management and the landscape architect.
