1 Introduction and welcome London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and East Thames Group a housing association and charity working in east London and Essex - are working together to regenerate the eastern side of Gascoigne Estate. This is part of the Council s boroughwide estate renewal programme. The homes will be replaced with brand new housing - a mixture of social rent, affordable rent, shared ownership and privately owned homes. The Council and East Thames Group will work together as equal partners throughout the project, sharing the responsibility for funding, design, construction and maintenance. Other partners involved in the programme include architects Levitt Bernstein and Allies & Morrison.
2 Community involvement We have held meetings and events to share the plans for the new homes and how the estate will be improved. We ve been getting your views on the plans which will help determine the final look and layout of the homes and community facilities. The designs have now been finalised and a planning application will be made at the end of June. This information presents the final plans for the wider estate and for the first homes in phase 1. 20 Housing options The regeneration of Gascoigne will take many years to complete and will be carried out over a number of phases. We will provide as much support and information as we can to support you when you need to move and explain all of your housing options to you.
