2 What is a landscape care association? We are the landscape care association of Oberallgäu Kempten e. V. (= LPV). The LPV is a non profit organization devoted to the preservation and development of nature and landscape. The full time team consists of two "half day workers". The managing committee consists of tripartite composed by local politicians 1/3 + farmers 1/3 + nature conservation representatives 1/3. Within the LPV are 25 cities and towns, the Oberallgäu, 12 associations and 54 private individuals Member. The LPV is financed by membership fees. Measures and projects are implemented with the help of public subsidies.
3 What does our Landscape care Association? We take care of unique natural and cultural landscapes. We take care of the preservation, maintenance and development of rare species and habitats. We water bogs, wet meadows and pull up bushes on neglected grassland or restore sources... We search and combine actors and thus put theory into practice.
4 How do we implement projects? Our passion is the landscape. We collect constantly new project ideas. We advertise for nature, culture and diversity in the landscape. We seek contact with politicians, farmers and land owners. We inspire people to the countryside. We implement with actors projects and activities in the field. We are looking for suitable funding options and make proposals. And to maintain the countryside we follow the conservation programs...
5 What are our principles? We are reliable partners. Working with and within the LPV is based on the principle of voluntariness. We maintain a respectful treatment of our partners. Farmers are our main implementing partners. Technical issues are important, but the interpersonal things as well... We develop the best ideas with the actors on the ground. We turn the 'affected' into the 'involved, this improves the acceptance of our work Landscape management requires maximum flexibility.

Number of overnight stays 2014: 11,156,300 Allgäu / Oberallgäu 5,412,677 Accommodation establishments with more than ten beds and campsites Is there any evidence that the tourists come to see the beautiful scenery in the Allgäu? There is much examined and counted, but in this regard there are few concrete figures... Core of the new tourism strategy in the Allgäu are the business health, winter, hiking, cycling and cities / culture. Tourism is a "model economy" and an important economic factor in the Allgäu Gross expenditure overnight guests 1.8bn EUR / y Spending days tourists 1.2bn EUR / y Total Tourist gross sales about EUR 3 billion / y Tourism contribution to primary income in the Allgäu is 8% More than 60,000 jobs are directly dependent on tourism Nature uncontrolled zones in the mountains... 24 Landscape care Allgäu Leader project Allgäu straw valorization The aim of this project was to establish contacts between suppliers and customers of scatter material to create a kind of scattered market. On the Leader Congress 2013 in Vienna the Allgäu litter recycling has been awarded as one of three "flagship projects" in Europe. Unfortunately, the period of eligibility has been limited! Project costs total 240,000, promoting EU / Bavaria 60%. These diverse EU funding options make an indispensable contribution to the preservation of our unique natural and cultural landscape. The Allgäu holiday region benefits from these offerings which are not least a gentle and natural based tourism. We think big!

27 Concrete landscape care Visions arise from pictures of a diverse Europe! We thank the European Union, the EU bodies and the EU administration for the various offers in line with our common agricultural policy Please allow us two suggestions at the end: In some program the controllability is given priority. Please give doubt and technical professionalism more space. Please allow the production of results and preservation of original landscape the same weight. Please recognize pastures, rough pastures and sheep grazing on the entire agricultural area, even if there are much more trees and shrubs in these areas. Because of the amount of work in those landscape is high and the significance for a diverse Europe is enormous. Visions arise from pictures of a diverse Europe
