8 What is a LRDP? The Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) is the official land use plan that guides the physical development of the campus 15 to 20 year planning period; current LRDP was approved in 1995 The 2019 LRDP estimates the potential outer envelope for growth through 2035 The UC Regents approve the LRDP and its accompanying Environmental Impact Report (EIR)

Replace hospital & aging facilities (Senate Bill 1953; seismic safety) Guide future development to respond to changing healthcare trends and needs Provide framework for improved site access and circulation Align plans with City and Regional smart growth objectives Identify strategies to achieve UC Sustainability Policy requirements Demonstrate UC San Diego s long-term commitment to Hillcrest Campus
