1 Welcome Thank you for coming today Today s event is about the potential development of the land off Milestone Way, Burntwood. We are here today to tell you more about our proposals for the development and listen to your feedback. If you would like to find out a little more please come in, we ll be here from 4pm until 8pm.

2 Our Experiences Taylor Wimpey build a wide range of homes in the UK, from one bedroom houses and apartments to five bedroom homes. We aim to build homes responsibly, efficiently and reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated by our business activities. Every year we regenerate significant areas of disused or contaminated land to create vibrant communities. Barratt Homes was established in 1958 and has since become Britain s best known housebuilder. The company prides itself in providing the highest standard of construction, design and customer service and offers a range of homes including first-time buyer, family homes, luxury penthouses, plus homes for rent and shared ownership. Taylor Wimpey s aim is to be an organisation that listens, responds and ultimately delivers local aspirations in the most appropriate way. We consider the architecture, landscape and sustainability elements of every development. Many of our sites have green transport plans that promote walking, cycling, public transport and other green travel options. For the fifth year running, Barratt Homes is officially the highest quality major national housebuilder, having recently been awarded an exclusive 5 Star Housebuilder Award by the Home Builders Federation. This award is the result of recommendations from customers as well as our superior build quality, so we re especially proud to be the only major national housebuilder to be awarded this accreditation five years straight. Taylor Wimpey UK, part of Taylor Wimpey plc, is one of the largest residential developers in the UK. Building new homes and communities across England, Scotland and Wales. We have 24 regional offices, operating as a network of local businesses whose people have an in-depth knowledge and experience of their local market. We build over 10,000 homes each year. As a responsible developer, we work with local people, community groups and local councils keeping them informed of work, during both the planning and building phases. This scheme will be delivered by Barratt West Midlands one of 26 operating Divisions across the United Kingdom which have a combined production programme of approximately 13,000 new homes per annum. We build high-quality homes for our customers and we take pride in our excellent customer service. In an independent survey by the Home Builders Federation (HBF), we received the highest five star rating for customer satisfaction. We were delighted that 9 out of 10 of our customers would recommend us to a friend.

3 Setting the Vision (1) Chase Water (2) Hill Street (3) Union Street (4) New Street Site Location (5) High Street By looking at the local area we can establish what we can adapt to become part of the development to keep some of the features and history that surround the site. Linking the site to local features is a key element to making a scheme work and fit seamlessly into the surrounding area.

4 Green Infrastructure N N Before we start designing a new scheme, we complete an assessment of the site and the surrounding area in its current setting. We detail those features which will enhance the local and built environment. We have looked at all the environmental features within and around the site. This informs us about those elements which should be protected and incorporated into the design as well as identifying areas to be translocated into more suitable locations. The above proposals show a softened edge around the site and public open space / green areas that will be developed within the site.

5 Master Planning POS The next step after producing a site constraints plan and discovering features across the site is to work up a Master Plan. The above plan is used as guidance to develop a more detailed drawing and provide for key views and important building locations, including the position of public open spaces and permeability through the development by vehicle, foot and cycle. Storm water created from the development will be stored within large underground pipes and ponds before being released slowly into the existing watercourses/network. Foul water will be connected into the existing sewer system.

7 Site Considerations The site is subject to several design considerations, which have affected our proposals being presented today. Our design has endeavoured to maximise the potential of the land through the site opportunities which link the green corridors and open spaces to enhance the setting.

8 Site Considerations We use the site constraints to help us produce design proposals. It is important that the design process takes full account of the physical features of the site, it s setting and connections to it s surroundings. Our new development must also take into account the existing character of the local area.

9 Economic Benefits of the Development Benefits Of The Proposal The public open space areas around the periphery of the site will provide the potential for circular walking routes of varying lengths and also link to the Chasewater Country Park. Providing much needed accommodation for local people and increasing local housing choice. A development which includes sustainable drainage attenuation features. High quality landscaping around the site with existing trees to be retained and incorporated into the proposed public open spaces or new gardens. Job Creation Approximately 294 (person years) direct construction employment 17 potential retail employment jobs 28 potential leisure employment jobs A total of 339 (person years) of indirect / induced employment 18.56M Gross Value Added (GVA) of direct employment Expenditure Impacts 4,023M total gross potential spending power in retail (per annum) 2,633M total gross potential spending power in leisure (per annum) A development that would help boost local shops and businesses and create jobs during construction. Financial contributions to meet local infrastructure needs through contributions. LPA Fiscal Impacts 532,430 Council Tax receipts (per annum) 3,194M New Homes Bonus payment from Central Government.

The site was a former colliery and has been disused for a number of years. The proposed access for the development is via the existing island off Milestone Way. With the site being in close proximity to shops, public transport and schools it makes this development a sustainable location for all new residents. Chasewater Country Park is perfect for a gentle stroll, bird watching, running, cycling or you can even take in a steam train ride. With its picturesque countryside setting. It covers 360 hectares, including some 90 hectares of water.
