2 WINYARD HOUSE We were moving from a new build and as we walked through the front door into the big hallway, we immediately fell in love with this old Victorian property.

The high ceilings throughout add a lot of character and there are a couple of lovely old fireplaces in the two big reception rooms which made winter nights very cosy. The house is set back from the road and is quite private with a lovely front garden. We had a fabulous party out there when the whole community came out to watch the Olympic Torch go past. The location of the house was ideal for us with only a five-minute drive to school in Worcester. The M5 is close by with easy access to the North and South and I could be in Devon for work in around 2 hours, door to door. One of the key features for us was the great amount of parking and the additional side access to the house where my wife ran her business from home. It s completely independent and never affected our family life and, of course, she was never far from work! There s an additional study in the house which meant I could work from home too which was very useful. It s a very pleasant walk into Worcester along the Worcester Droitwich Canal and there are two pubs within walking distance which serve fabulous food. The local shop is nearby too and sells everything you need for day to day living. The bigger supermarkets are a few miles away, as is the Worcester Warriors Rugby Club.

12 It s a fabulous family home due to the location and character, it s an amazing space. So many people say that it s a beautiful house and it s perfect for bringing up a family.

The city historically hosted a flourishing glove making industry and was the home of Royal Worcester Porcelain as well as, for much of his life, the composer Sir Edward Elgar. Providing the ideal location for retail therapy, there are three large covered shopping centres and an additional three out of town shopping parks. The main commercial centre can be found on the recently modified high street, home to a number of major retail chains and the older shopping streets contain numerous individual boutiques. There is also a racecourse, theatre, cricket club and university. The green city of Worcester provides three spacious parks and two large woodlands covering over 33 hectares. The banks of the River Severn provide an idyllic setting for an evening stroll or bike ride, surrounded by the wonderful Worcestershire countryside bounded by the Malvern Hills and pretty market towns. Historic landmarks include the spectacular Worcester Cathedral, dating back to the 10th Century and the Queen Anne style Guildhall designed by Thomas White, a pupil of Sir Christopher Wren in The latest landmark is Worcester s new central library, The Hive, a striking gold roofed building on the site of the former cattle market.
