The Lake must open to citizens for healthy urban life. Environmental technologies are indispensable for Eco-Friendly Community. 1
2 The features of our Project Maximum community involvement is key for Low Carbon Emission Society. This project is not a simple waterfront housing development but an innovative ideal Compact City. 4 The Lake upstream The Flood-Control Reservoir upstream Protecting the entire region from flooding disasters Contribution to safety and security for the residents Provision of open space and greenery to the public downstream Utilisation of the Flood-control Reservoir Topic1 To revive the image of rural landscape as the "City of Water" in natural area around the biotope where the water-side environment and human activities co-exist in harmony. Topic2 To encourage spontaneous and recreational activities around the Waterside Park, such as cultivating flower-beds. Lake-side Walk Biotope Reservoir (North-area) Water-side terrace Floating stage Floating pier Topic3 To develop the waterside located in the central areas, where people gather, as a base for such activities as water sports. 4

6 Environmental system and technology effect to reduce CO2 emission Guideline for Environmentally Sensitive Practices Development Master plan of Koshigaya Lake Town Link Each practices Main strategic practices towards Eco-town on this project are: Housing and Building Plan Use of Natural Energy such as wind, lush green and sunlight Introduction of technology to reduce CO2 emission by 20% Energy-Efficient Housing Project Use of Natural Energy Saving power consumption for airconditioning in detached houses During summer Consideration for the designs of the floor plans Flow of wind inside the house Trees screen off about 90% of sunlight During winter Catch cool air from the waterfront South cool air North Sunshine reach the ground 6
7 Energy-Efficient Housing Project Solar water heater Use of solar energy and technology makes household budget slim Electricity LNG To each housing unit Central heating system Hot water supply Floor heating Electrical appliances Reducing energy consumption Reducing energy loss Saving energy costs Environmentally Friendly Shopping Centre Installation of Advanced Technologies (solar panels, hybrid gas ecosystem, and so on) Today s generation of electricity by solar power total up to 1,018kwh which is equivalent to lighting 31,818 fluorescent lamps 7
