3 3D Landscape Design...demystifying the design process Using the latest techniques in 3D visualisation, our Landscape Design service ensures everyone involved in the design, construction and maintenance of the garden understands the scheme prior to starting any work on site. We can design a corner of the garden, remodel existing beds, add a new terrace or completely redesign the whole garden to accommodate your changing needs. We have a team of qualified garden specialists who will guide you through our comprehensive design process. In addition, a tour of our plant and garden centre will allow you to preview the plants and products that will form your future garden. 5 Consultation Our initial consultation provides an ideal opportunity to spend time with you, and gain an understanding of your ideal outdoor space. At your consultancy: Our designer will take time to discuss and understand the features and characteristics you desire from your garden. By walking around together we can determine what would enhance the space to suit your needs. Whether you need an area for dining with the family, socialising with friends or an oasis to relax in, our many years of garden experience will provide you with abundant ideas to inspire you. We want to help you realise the garden s full potential so we are able to design a space that is suited to you. On completion of your comprehensive consultation, we can decide which design route is best tailored to you and we can then give you a quotation for this service. What you do: Decide which areas in the garden you are interested in discussing. Consider whether you would like to create a particular atmosphere or establish a specific style. Consider time-scale - do you require an instant garden or can you wait for plants to mature with time? How long are you planning to stay in the property? What time period do you anticipate to effect the changes? Have a budget in mind. It is more efficient if you take notes whilst the consultant analyses the site and your requirements. 5

7 Survey Every design will require a survey of the site, there are three ways of achieving this: You may have an existing survey of the garden that we can work from. A member from our team can carry out a basic outline survey. An external surveyor may be recommended to form a more comprehensive survey, depending on the complexity and size of your garden. As a guide, the price of a survey has ranged from 500 for a small, level garden, to 2600 for a large, complex site. We can provide you with a quote on request, once the site has been assessed. All prices include VAT. Our design package includes... Brief and Concept A written brief and mood board will be produced following our initial meeting: This is an opportunity to ensure that we have understood your aspirations for the garden and to discuss any alterations you wish to make. The concept board will illustrate our ideas for different aspects of your garden with the use of photographs of plants, existing gardens and features. 7

9 Presentation Plan A detailed garden layout plan is the final drawing we produce, illustrating the potential of the garden. This will enable you to see every structural aspect of the design, drawn to scale, including key plants, hard landscaping and features. Why rely on 2D plans when you can see exactly what has been proposed from your own eye level? Our unique approach We will present a 3D virtual tour of your new outdoor space, which will transport you into your future garden. This will be a colour rendered animation with realistic textures and materials. A realistic representation of your house will be visualised to contextualise your garden. The planting shown will be a 3D representational illustration of the structure and leaf form of the plants we envisage. A suggested planting list will also be included with the design. 10 Our Visualisation Package As part of the Cedar Nursery experience we will present you with a garden box file which will safely store your design documents. This will include: Brief A written description of our initial ideas based on the design consultation. Mood board Annotated layout survey drawing surrounded by inspirational images. A1 plan Annotated layout plan with visualisations. A3 layout and lighting plan Annotated plan with lighting suggestions for the finished design. Design Booklet Colour visualisations of the completed design. Product and plant suggestions A list of plants, products and materials incorporated within the design. Design specifications We will produce any relevant drawings for our bespoke design elements. Personal DVD or USB A personalised DVD or USB containing the visualisation. YouTube link to the visualisation To allow you to stream your visualisation instantly via the internet. 10

11 Full Garden Design Price Guide The initial consultation will cost 50. Prices for a full design start from 600 and are dependent on the complexity, size and topography of the garden. All prices include VAT. Here are some examples of previous projects and their price bracket. 13 Other Services Planting We can plan your planting on site with a wide selection of plants from our nursery. Our skilled horticulturists will place suggested planting around your garden for your approval in our tried and tested method of design. Please see our plant consultancy brochure for more information. Lighting Plan As well as offering a range of lighting products we can also suggest where the lights should go to best complement your garden. A 2D scheme will be created which will show the types of lights and most suitable position. Price on application. Lighting Design Consultation As part of this service, we can visit you in the evening with battery operated versions of our range of lights and demonstrate our lighting suggestions and show you where best to place them. All prices include VAT. 1hr consultation for (refundable when you spend 500 on lighting products with us). 13
