9 ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS WELLINGTON STREET What Are We Assessing? The Environmental Assessment for the Wellington Street Grade Separation will be undertaken as an Addendum to the Barrie Rail Corridor Expansion Transit Project Assessment Process (completed October 2017). Natural Environment Terrestrial, aquatic habitat and species Species of conservation concern Sensitive areas and features Stormwater Management Scheduled to begin in approximately Residents and businesses along the study area will be contacted upon commencement. 10 GRADE SEPARATION ROAD UNDER RAIL CONCEPT In this concept, the separation is an underpass. The train runs at street-level, and all other traffic runs underneath. Structure would be designed wide enough to accommodate four lanes of traffic, two in each direction. This is only a concept and subject to change based on public and municipal input during the EA process.
