1 Partner universities The ERASMUS student exchange program enables students mobility at prestigious partner universities such as: University of Ulster, Kavala Institute of Technology, National Technical University of Athens, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Università degli Studi di Camerino, Universidad Catolica de San Antonio de Murcia, Università di Sassari, Universita di Bologna, Universidad de Valladolid, Izmir University of Economics, Istanbul Aydin University, Halic University Istanbul, Selahaddin Eyyubi University, Işık University, Mustafa Kemal University. The Faculty of Architecture of Spiru Haret University provides students with general and specialized knowledge in the fields of architecture, computer aided architectural design, landscape architecture, urban design, spatial planning, environmental design and heritage preservation, preparing students for a full range of professional activities. Incoming Erasmus students are free to choose any subject regardless of the year they are in at home institution. At the end of the Erasmus exchange programme, the home institution will receive a transcript of the student's records with the result obtained for each component, as well as the number of ECTS credits and ECTS grades. Basics of Architectural Design and Synthesis of Architectural Design: the design atelier themes cover various fields, from architecture project heuristics and theory to practical issues related, for instance, to architectural insertions in urban areas or within a heritage context. The students acquire the ability to create architectural designs that satisfy both aesthetic and technical requirements. Synthesis of Architectural Design

2 Basics of Architectural Design Computer aided design: the courses and seminars introduce students to basic Allplan, Archicad, Autodesk AutoCAD, 3ds Max and Revit tools and commands, providing, at the same time, the skills and concepts related to computer-aided design. The labs are held in rooms with Internet access and individual computers equipped with proper software. Urban planning, urban design: reading and analysing the urban environment becomes a complex activity, a part of an extended design approach, also covering the cultural, social and economic effects of the architectural proposal. The aim is to help students acquire adequate knowledge of urban design and the skills involved in the planning process. The projects include the development of urban open spaces or the revitalization and valorization of existing parts of the cities, as well as different

3 Landscape architecture: students acquire the necessary fundamental knowledge and methods of designing a park, a garden or an outdoor public area, by integrating nature into the built environment. It encourages the in-depth study of the various functions of urban green spaces and their utility in relation to building uses and urban developments. It also provides students with knowledge of the different dendrological specimens, and their way of placement and maintenance. Environmental design: the main objective is to develop the ability to create personalized indoor or outdoor spaces that reflect the identity of a private or public entity, such as an educational institution, a recreational or socio-cultural facility. Space design should reflect practical, technical and aesthetic concerns. The project starts with an analysis of the environment, evolving from concept to plan and detailed design drawings.

5 Exhibitions: students have the opportunity to display their work in the University Hall Students may also find opportunities to publish essay and original research papers in our scientific journal Annals of Spiru Haret University, Architecture Series ACADEMIC CALENDAR 2016/2017 The autumn semester (1st semester) begins on 3 October 2016 and is 14 weeks long, having a break during the winter holidays - two weeks (Christmas and New Year s). The semester ends with an examination period of 3 weeks, followed by a one-week holiday. Spring semester (2nd semester) begins on 20 February 2017 and is 14 weeks long, having a one-week break during the Easter Holidays. It is followed by an examination period of 3 weeks, in June and a two-week practicum session. Students are on summer holidays between

6 10 July 2017 and 1 September A failed exam may eventually lead to a second try. A reexamination is set in September, between 4 September 2017 and 24 September The deadlines for receiving your Erasmus application forms are as follows: 1st semester or full academic year: 1st July 2nd semester: 1st November CLASS ATTENDANCE Class attendance is a condition for being admitted to the exam and will be checked. In some cases active participation in class is an element of the course assessment. For the practical work - projects, first drafts, assessment projects, drawings-, you need to meet the following criteria: a minimum 80% of attendance and the compliance with the number of corrections mentioned for each topic (in the project theme). EVALUATION AND EXAMS Spiru Haret Faculty of Architecture grades exams on a scale from 1 to 10 per programme component.
