7 Coastal Resources Working Group The Future of Falmouth s South Shore May 2003 The Future of Falmouth s Buzzards Bay Shore October 2010

8 Local Comprehensive Plan Coastal Resiliency Falmouth shall retain its cultural identity by balancing use, access, and enjoyment of coastal resources, while accounting for geologic and ecosystem shifts in response to weather related impacts and sea level rise. Policy #1: Falmouth shall preserve, restore, and enhance coastal ecosystems to better absorb impacts. Policy #2: Falmouth shall protect the operational capacity of vulnerable infrastructure systems. Policy #3: Falmouth shall create the tools to foster the dynamic natural system s own resiliency. Policy #4: Falmouth shall encourage community wide institutional adaptability.

9 Coastal Resiliency Action Committee The purpose of this committee is to prepare action plans for submission to the Board of Selectmen to address the risks and hazards to coastal infrastructure and coastal properties that may be caused by coastal erosion, storms and sea level rise. 15 Falmouth MVP Listening Session Falmouth held a public Listening Session to discuss the findings of the workshop with a larger audience May 8, 2018 at the Hermann Room Falmouth Public Library.

16 Falmouth s Next Steps Submit Finalized Summary of Findings Report to the Commonwealth Issue a Request for Proposals for a Vulnerability and Risk Assessment Apply for future MVP Action Grants to fund Top 5 Action Items.
