6 West Corridor Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) completed with a Record of Decision in Due to project changes, work was supplemented with an Environmental Assessment (EA) ending in a Finding of No Significant Impact in Commitments from these efforts have been incorporated in the concept designs: - Right in/right out garage access from Sheridan - Left & Right Turn Lanes from EB 10 th Avenue onto Sheridan - Provision for Ames St. between 10 th & 11 th Avenues 6
7 Public comments from the EIS, EA, West Corridor design public meetings and the Urban Design Committee reviewed and incorporated into the concept designs wherever possible. Main concerns: - Ped, bike, and auto access into/out of parking structure - Light pollution - Incorporating design into the existing community setting - Deterring graffiti (lighting, security, landscape screening) - Incorporating sustainable features wherever possible 7
8 West Corridor design and construction began following environmental work. Parking structure conceptual layout was completed at that time and then removed from this process to: - Allow time for a developer to come forward to meet Denver s zoning requirements (Urban Center). - Consider Transit Oriented Development (TOD). (Did not occur) Purpose of tonight s meeting is to review and discuss the initial concept designs for building the Sheridan Parking Structure. 8
