Additional Considerations One 220V 30amp GFCI-protected power supply is all that is required for the Endless Pool. The RWQS must get its power from the hydraulic power unit controller. Ideally the power unit is located with the RWQS. A 10 long electrical whip will be provided by Endless Pools to make the connection between the power unit and the heater controller. If the pool is partially in-ground or fully in-ground, then 18 of access still must be maintained at the front of the pool. An additional hole will need to be drilled into the front panel for a secondary suction. This should be placed between the two hydraulic lines on the front panel. A kit of plumbing parts and flexible PVC pipe has been provided to make the connections between the front panel of the pool and the RWQS. A suitable path must be maintained between the RWQS and the pool for plumbing lines as well the electrical cords for the heater controller keypad. If optional light or jets have been ordered, then a suitable path must be maintained for the jet plumbing and light cords as well. Installation Instructions Panel Cutouts Follow the installation instructions found in the Endless Pool Installation Operations and User s Manual up to but not including, Section 9: Optional Lights, Jets, and Liner Hangers. An additional hole must be drilled into the pool panel to accept the secondary suction fitting. The hole should be drilled into the front panel between the two swim current hydraulic lines. Drill a 2-1/2 hole 10 from the top flange of the pool between the two hydraulic lines. This hole should be vertically aligned with the existing holes. File any burs off of the hole and place a small film of silicone around the edge of the hole. Thru-Wall Connections Continue with the installation instructions found in the Endless Pool Installation Operations and User s Manual up to but not including, Section 14: Thru-Wall Connections. The secondary suction, hydraulic lines, and return thru-wall connections will be installed in the same manner. Fill the pool up to the lowest thru-wall hole. Cut the liner with a utility knife using the hole a template. Both thru-wall connections will come with two rubber gaskets and one cork gasket. One rubber gasket goes between the fitting and the liner on the inside of the pool. The second rubber gasket goes between the liner and the panel on the inside of the pool. The cork gasket goes between the locknut and panel on the outside of the pool. Tighten the locknut hand tight only.

2 Page 2 of 11 Return Fitting: Plug the fitting on the inside with the provided threaded plug and o-ring. Secondary Suction: Remove the screws securing the suction screen to the thru-wall fitting. Insert the provided rubber wing nut plug into the fitting and tighten it. Hydraulic Lines: Pull any excess hydraulic hose out of the pool and then tighten the compression nut of the liquid-tight fitting. Once the fitting has been properly plugged, continue filling the pool until the next thru-wall fitting. Follow the previous instructions as appropriate. Once the water level is just below the skimmer, stop filling the pool. Install the skimmer as described in the Endless Pool Installation Operations and User s Manual section entitled, Thru-Wall Connections. Plumbing This entire section must be completed prior to the pool being completely filled with water. The water level must remain below the skimmer opening until this section has been completed. When gluing plumbing connections, always apply PVC cleaner to both face of the glue joint prior to gluing. Return Connection at the Front of the Pool 1. Continue with the installation instructions found in the Endless Pool Installation Operations and User s Manual up to but not including, Section 15:Water Quality System. (Fig 1) 2. Plumb the backside of the return thru-wall fitting as shown in Figure 1. Begin by gluing a male slip x male pipe thread adapter into the thru-wall fitting. 3. Apply Teflon sealant to the threads of the adapter and then thread on the female pipe thread x female union. 4. Disassemble the union so that it does not get inadvertently get glued together. Glue a street elbow (male slip x female slip) into the female slip end of the union. 5. The pipe that glues into the female end of the street elbow will be run back to the outlet of the heater controller in the equipment area. Additional PVC fittings have been provided to account for any sitespecific factors that dictate the plumbing route.

3 Page 3 of 11 Skimmer Connection at the Front of the Pool 1. Glue a male slip x male pipe thread adapter into the bottom of the skimmer. 2. Apply Teflon to the threads of the adapter and then thread on the female pipe thread x female union. 3. Disassemble the union so that it does not get inadvertently get glued together. Glue a short length of 1-1/2 PVC pipe (approx. 2-1/4 ) into the bottom half of the union. 4. Glue the 1-1/2 Tee onto the pipe (from step 3) so that the opening of the Tee is facing the center of the pool. Plumb between the Tee and the secondary suction thru-wall as shown in Figure 2. An inline check valve has been provided to connect between the Tee and the secondary suction thru-wall. 5. Once the secondary suction has been plumbed into the system, plumb between the bottom of the 1-1/2 Tee and the suction side of the pump. Additional PVC fittings have been provided to account for any site-specific factors that dictate the plumbing route. 4 Page 4 of 11 Water Quality System 1. The following diagram (Fig. 3) shows the typically set-up for a RWQS. While this is the ideal set-up, the RWQS can be configured any number of ways in order to accommodate on site factors. Water needs to travel through the circulation pump, then through the heater controller, and then through the optional gas heater (if this option was purchased), and then through an optional UV Sanitizer (if this option was purchased). The keypad control for the Water Quality System will come with a 40 cord attached. The keypad will be plugged into the heater controller at the port with the keypad icon next to it. 2. Typically, the keypad is installed in the pool coping at the front of the pool, but can be placed anywhere adjacent to the pool. The only restriction is the length of the cord. 3. Drill two 1 diameter holes 2-5/8 apart (from center point to center point). Then with the appropriate saw cut the section out between the two holes. 2 5/8'' 66mm 1'' 25,4mm 1'' 25,4mm 4. Remove the wing nuts and securing bracket from the backside of the keypad. 5. Feed the keypad cord into the hole. Remove the protective film off of the adhesive back and firmly push the keypad into place. Gasket with adhesive 1'' 2 5/8'' 1'' 6. Then reattach the bracket and wing nuts and tighten securely. 7. If the keypad is in a horizontal position and the material in which the keypad rests is deeper then the threaded studs, then the keypad can be secured solely by the adhesive backing.

6 Page 6 of 11 Optional Equipment 1. Underwater LED Lights- Underwater lights are installed through the pool wall. The lights are then plugged directly into the remotely located heater-controller (L1 port). A pre-determined length of cord will be provided with the light kit that will allow the lights to plug directly to into the heater-controller. The lights will be operated via the light button on the keypad control. For more information on this option, refer to the LED Light. 2. Hydrotherapy Jets- Hydrotherapy Jets will be plumbed through the pool wall. The jet pump requires two suction fittings plumbed into the pool. One of the suction fittings can be plumbed into the front panel 4 below (from center point to center point) the low-pressure hose on the front panel. The other suction fitting can be plumbed in on the front panel as well, but it must be a minimum of 3 away from the first jet suction. The second hole must be a minimum of 12 away from a corner and 3 away from a z- brace or panel seam. If the second suction is to be placed under a return channel, the hole must be 11-1/2 up from the base of the panel. The four jet fittings will be dictated by on-site conditions and options chosen. The plumbing will connect to the jet fittings and jet suction will run back to the jet pump that has been located with the RWQS. Additional plumbing fittings have been provided to account for any site-specific factors that dictate the plumbing route. The jet pump will receive its power from the heater-controller; it will be plugged into the P1 port of the heater-controller. The jet pump will be operated by pressing the jet pump button on the keypad. For more information on this option, refer to the Hydrotherapy Jet Kit. 3. Gas Heater- The optional gas heater is typically located with the RWQS. The gas heater will be plumbed into the system after the heater controller. Plumbing components have been provided with the heater to incorporate into the system. The temperature of the heater-controller should be turned down to its lowest setting so that it will not attempt to come on. The gas heater is an electronically fired gas heater; therefore it does require a dedicated power supply. For more information on this option, refer to the Gas Heater.

7 Page 7 of UV Sanitizer- The UV Sanitizer will be located with the RWQS and will be the last piece of equipment in line before the water returns back to the pool. The UV Sanitizer will be provided with stainless steel clamps and stands to mount the UV. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally. For more information on this option, refer to the UV Sanitizer and UV Owner s Manual.

8 Page 8 of 11 Electrical Requirements 60Hz Electrical Requirements (for the US and countries with similar power supply) One 220volt 30amp GFCI-protected circuit is all that is required to operate the Endless Pool. A minimum of 10AWG wire should be used for all field wiring. All connections should be made by a licensed electrician. The incoming power supply will go into the swim current power unit first and then into the RWQS heatercontroller. A shut off should be installed within 5 of the power unit. 1. Connect the electrical whip (that came pre-attached to the power unit) to the shut-off. 2. Remove one of the unused knockouts in the bottom of the power unit controller. Connect the provided 10 whip into that knockout. 3. Connect the green wire to the ground bus bar. Connect the red wire to the R3 (bottom ride) connection on the contactor (inside of the power unit controller). Connect the black wire to the R2 (top left) connection on the contactor (inside of the power unit controller). Connect the white wire to the white wire connected to the shut off under a wire nut. 4. Open the door of the heater controller by loosening the access door set screws. Secure the opposite end of the provided 10 electrical whip into the access opening of the heater controller. 5. The black wire will connect to the L1 terminal inside the heater controller. Connect the white wire to the N terminal inside the heater controller. Connect the red wire to the L2 terminal inside the heater controller. Connection the green wire to the G terminal inside the heater controller.

10 50Hz Electrical Requirements (for the UK and countries with similar power supply) Page 10 of 11 Two 220v 30amp RCD circuits are to operate the Endless Pool (one for the swim current power unit and one for the RWQS). A minimum of 10AWG wire should be used for all field wiring. All connections should be made by a licensed electrician. A shut off should be installed within 5 of the RWQS heater controller. The heater controller should be hard wired directly into the contactor.

11 Initial Start-Up (prior to supplying electrical power to the system) Page 11 of Remove the threaded plug from the return thru-wall fitting. Remove the rubber wing nut plug from the secondary suction thru-wall. Reinstall the protective suction screen to the thru-wall fitting with the provided screws. 2. Make sure that the ball valve on the inlet and outlet of the circulation pump are open. 3. The circulation pump needs to be primed. For circulation pumps that are below the waterline of the pool: Make sure that strainer pot of the pump is full of water. For circulation pumps that are above the waterline of the pool: Completely remove the strainer pot lid and fill the strainer pot with water. Once the pot is full, reinstall the strainer pot lid. 4. Plug the circulation pump cord into the CP (green) port of the heater controller. 5. Turn power on to the system. Once powered, the system will go through a boot-up cycle. When the boot-up is complete, the keypad display will read the temperature of the water. 6. If the keypad reads FLO, then not all of the air has been purged from the system. It is possible that the circulation pump will need to be re-primed. If the pump needs to be re-primed: 1. Turn the power to the system off. 2. Close the ball valve on the suction side of the pump. 3. Remove the strainer pot lid. 4. Refill the strainer pot with water. 5. Reinstall the strainer pot lid. 6. Open the ball valve. Turn the power back on to the system and let it go through the boot-up cycle again. Repeat this process until the keypad displays the temperature after the boot-up cycle is complete.
