5 Two-Wire Polarization Instructions Two-Wire Polarized Cord To reduce the risk of electric shock, this product is equipped with a polarized alternating current line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other). This plug will fit into the power outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If the plug still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to replace the obsolete outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug. 7 How to Assemble the Vacuum Attaching the Handle With the On/Off button facing the front of the vacuum, insert the handle into the top of the vacuum until it clicks into place (Fig. 1). Attaching the Dust Cup Assembly Line up the bottom of the dust cup with the base of the vacuum. Then push the top of the dust cup into the vacuum until it clicks into place (Fig. 2). 8 How to Assemble the Vacuum Attaching the Floor Nozzle Place the floor nozzle on the floor with the neck locked in the upright position. Line up the neck of the floor nozzle with the inlet at the base of the vacuum. Push until it clicks into place (Fig. 1). Removing the Floor Nozzle Press the metal button at the base of the vacuum with a screw driver or other pointed tool. Then remove the floor nozzle from the inlet (Fig. 2). Attaching the Power Cord Attach the cord to the clip on the back of the handle, then wrap the cord around the upper and lower cord hooks (Fig. 3). Fig. 1 Unwinding the Power Cord The upper cord hook rotates to allow for quick access to the power cord. Turn the upper cord hook downward and you can quickly drop the power cord to the floor without unwinding it from the cord hooks. When storing the vacuum cleaner, turn the upper cord hook to the upright position and wrap the power cord around the cord storage hooks (Fig. 4). Fig. 2 Fig. 3 Fig. 4 6

9 How to Operate the Vacuum On/Off Button Push the power button on the handle (Fig. 1) to turn on the vacuum. Press the power button again to turn off the vacuum. Fig. 1 Reclining the Vacuum Place your foot on the top of the floor nozzle and pull the handle toward you (Fig. 2). Fig. 2 Vacuuming Rugs The Bare Floor Maid is designed to sweep and polish your bare floors in one easy step thanks to the strong vacuum suction and microfiber polishing pad. This microfiber polishing pad prevents the vacuum from gliding over rugs or carpet. Remove the microfiber polishing pad from the bottom of the floor nozzle to vacuum rugs or low pile carpet (Fig. 3). 7 Fig. 3

10 How to Empty the Dust Cup WARNING: Empty the dust cup after each use or before the contents reach the MAX FILL line on the dust cup. Over-filling the dust cup may cause dirt and debris to clog the filter and cause loss of suction. Remove the dust cup from the vacuum by pressing the dust cup release button on top of the dust cup (Fig. 1). Remove the filter assembly by pulling it up and out of the dust cup (Fig. 2). Tip the dust cup upside down over a trash can to empty contents. Fig. 1 Replace the filter assembly by lining up the notches on the filter and the dust cup and pushing straight down (Fig. 3). 12 Maintenance and Care Cleaning the Dust Cup Remove the dust cup from the vacuum by pressing the dust cup release button on top of the dust cup (Fig. 1). Remove the filter assembly by pulling it up and out of the dust cup (Fig. 2). Rinse the dust cup in warm water. Allow it to dry thoroughly before reattaching it to the vacuum. Replace the filter assembly by lining up the notches on the filter and the dust cup and pushing straight down. Fig. 1 Fig. 2 Replace the dust cup onto the vacuum body and resume vacuuming. Replacing the Microfiber Polishing Pad Pull gently to remove the microfiber pad from the bottom of the floor nozzle (Fig. 3). Wash frequently in warm water with mild detergent or replace as needed. 13 Troubleshooting WARNING! To Reduce the Risk of Electrical Shock or Injury From Moving Parts, Unplug the Vacuum Before Servicing. CAUTION! Filter Make sure the filter is clean, dry and installed correctly. All other service should be performed at a Fuller Brush service center For Best Performance Keep your vacuum clean and in good operating condition. Always use genuine replacement parts. Use of other products may result in poor cleaning performance, potential vacuum cleaner damage and may void the vacuum warranty. Genuine Fuller Brush products are designed for maximum cleaning performance. Store your vacuum carefully in a dry area. For optimum cleaning performance and safety, follow your owner s manual instructions. 11

14 Warranty What Is Covered: This warranty covers any defects in material and workmanship in your new Fuller Brush vacuum. How Long Coverage Lasts: Warranty coverage for the Fuller Brush vacuum lasts one year. Household models used commercially are warranted for 90 days. What Is Not Covered: Damage to the vacuum which occurs from neglect, abuse, alterations, accident, misuse or improper maintenance. Normal replacement items: disposable filters and microfiber polishing pads. What Fuller Brush Will Do: This warranty provides, at no cost to you, all labor and parts to keep this vacuum in correct operating condition during the warranted period. How to Get Service: Warranty service can only be obtained by presenting the vacuum to the Fuller Brush Service Center. THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER WRITTEN, ORAL, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, (INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE).
