3 INTRODUCTION Congratulations on purchasing an Ozito Work-Shed Vac. We aim to provide quality tools at an affordable price. We hope you will enjoy using this product for many years. Your Work-Shed Vac WVG-951 has been designed for both wet and dry vacuuming and also has a blower function. Ideal for cleaning up spills or something as simple as removing water from a blocked sink. It can also be used as a workshed vac to clean up around the home and shed after renovation or DIY projects. It is intended for DIY use only. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Warning! When using mains-powered equipment, basic safety precautions, including the following, should always be followed to reduce risk of fire, electric shock, personal injury and material damage. Read and understand the manual prior to operating this tool. Save these instructions and other documents supplied with this tool for future reference. ELECTRICAL SAFETY The electric motor has been designed for 230V and 240V only. Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate. Note: The supply of 230V and 240V on Ozito tools are interchangeable for Australia and New Zealand. This tool is double insulated in accordance with AS/NZS 3100: 2002; therefore no earth wire is required. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an electrician or a power tool repairer in order to avoid a hazard. Note: Double insulation does not take the place of normal safety precautions when operating this tool. The insulation system is for added protection against injury resulting from a possible electrical insulation failure within the tool. 2

4 ELECTRICAL SAFETY (cont.) Using an Extension Lead Always use an approved extension lead suitable for the power input of this tool. Before use, inspect the extension lead for signs of damage, wear and ageing. Replace the extension lead if damaged or defective. When using an extension lead on a reel, always unwind the lead completely. Use of an extension lead not suitable for the power input of the tool or which is damaged or defective may result in a risk of fire and electric shock. GENERAL 1. Keep work areas clean. Cluttered work areas and benches can cause accidents. 2. Consider work area environment. Do not expose your tool to high humidity or rain. Keep the work area well lit. Do not use your tool where there is a risk of causing fire or explosion, e.g. in the presence of flammable liquids and gases. 3. Keep children away. Do not allow children, visitors or animals to come near the work area or to touch the tool or power lead. 4. Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery, as these can be caught in moving parts. 5. Head protection. Always use safety glasses. Use a face or dust mask whenever the operations may produce dust or flying particles. 6. Guard against electric shock. Prevent body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces (e.g. pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigerators). Electric safety can be further improved by using a high sensitivity (30 ma / 30 ms) residual current device (RCD). 7. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. 8. Stay alert. Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not operate the tool when you are tired. 9. Extension leads. Before use inspect the extension leads and replace if damaged. 10. Use appropriate tool. The intended use is described in this instruction manual. Do not force small tools or attachments to do the job of a heavy duty tool. The tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was intended. Do not force the tool. Warning! The use of any accessory or attachment, or performance of any operation with this tool other than those recommended in this instruction manual may present a risk of personal injury. 3

5 GENERAL (cont.) 11. Check for damaged parts. Before use carefully check the tool and power lead for damage. Check for misalignment and seizure of moving parts, breakage of parts, damage to guards and switches and any other conditions that may affect its operation. Ensure that the tool will operate properly and perform its intended function. Do not use the tool if any parts are damaged or defective. Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Have any damaged or defective parts repaired or replaced by an electrician or a power tool repairer. Never attempt any repairs yourself. 12. Unplug the tool. Shut off the power and wait for the tool to come to a complete standstill before leaving it unattended. Unplug the tool when it is not in use, before changing any parts of the tool, accessories or attachments and before servicing. 13. Avoid unintentional starting. Do not carry the tool with a finger on the on/off switch. Make sure the tool is switched off when plugging in. 14. Do not abuse the cord. Never carry the tool by its cord or pull it to disconnect from the socket. Keep the cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges. 15. Connect dust extraction equipment. If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure that these are connected and properly used. 16. Store idle tools. When not in use, tools should be stored in a dry, locked up or high place, out of reach of children. 17. Maintain tools with care. Keep tools clean and in good condition for better and safer performance. Follow the instructions for maintenance and changing accessories. Keep handles and switches dry, clean and free from oil and grease. 18. Have your tool repaired by an electrician or a power tool repairer. This power tool complies with relevant safety requirements. To avoid danger, electrical appliances must only be repaired by qualified technicians using original spare parts; otherwise this may result in considerable danger to the user. 19. Users. This appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirmed persons without supervision. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with this appliance. 20. Replacement of the supply cord. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an electrician or a power tool repairer in order to avoid a hazard. 4

6 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR VACUUM CLEANERS Keep the supply cord dry and out of water. Do not aim the hose at other persons or animals. Never pick up asbestos or asbestos dust. Wood dust and shavings in a confined area can give rise to fire or an explosion. Guard against possible ignition sources. Do not pick up any material that is burning or smouldering such as metal grinding dust, cigarette ends, matches etc. Never try to move the Vac via the mains lead. Do not vacuum dry matter without the cartridge filter assembled. Do not vacuum liquids without the foam filter assembled. Always switch the unit off before changing attachments, filters and emptying the tank. ASSEMBLY Unpack the Work-Shed Vac and all its contents from the carton. Release the two motor retaining clips on the side of the Vac and remove the motor from the tank body. Remove the components from with in the tank. Castor Wheels Place the tank body upside-down, assemble the castor wheels to the base of the tank by firmly pushing the ribbed ends into the four holes. Once fitted, they will remain in place permanently. Hose and Attachments Insert the smaller end of the hose into the matching vacuum inlet on the side of the orange tank body. Secure by pushing and slightly rotating the hose end. Fit the two extension tubes together then insert the remaining end of the hose into the larger end of the joined extension tubes. Two attachments have been included: 1 x Crevice nozzle 1 x Floor attachment These can be fixed to the end of the extension tube by firmly inserting the extension tube into the matching end of the attachment. Fitting Floor attachment Fit the adaptor (10) onto the end of the extension tube (1). Fit the floor attachment (9) to the adaptor (10). 5

7 OPERATION On/Off Switch To turn the unit on, press the switch on top of the unit to the I setting. To turn the unit off press the switch to the 0 setting. Note: Prior to turning on the unit, always fully unwind the power cord. Vacuuming Dry Matter 1. Disconnect the unit from the power supply. 2. Release the two motor securing clips and lift the motor from the top of the tank. If the foam filter is assembled to the motors black bracket, remove it. Fit the cartridge filter (with the rubber seal) over the bracket. 3. Ensure the inside of the tank and underside of the motor are both dry. 4. Fit the motor with the cartridge filter assembled back to the tank and secure in place by refastening the two motor securing clips. Do not use the foam filter when dry vacuuming. Note: When vacuuming dry matter always have the cartridge filter assembled. Failure to do so could cause the motor to fail. Do not use the foam filter when vacuuming dry matter. Damage caused by incorrect operation will not be covered under warranty. If the suction power remains low after emptying the tank the filter may need to be cleaned. To clean the cartridge filter, first remove it from the motor bracket. Shake or brush off excess dirt or rinse (from the inside of the filter) with soap and water. Allow the filter to dry completely before using. Vacuuming Liquid 1. Disconnect the unit from the power supply. 2. Release the two motor securing clips and lift the motor from the top of the tank. If the cartridge filter (with the rubber seal) has been previously assembled, remove it. Fit the foam filter over the bracket. 3. Remove all dirt and debris found in the tank. 4. Fit the motor with the foam filter assembled back to the tank and secure in place using the two motor securing clips. Do not use the cartridge filter when wet vacuuming. 5. Re-connect the unit to the power supply. 6. When vacuuming liquids never fully submerge the end of the hose into the water. Always ensure only half the end of the hose is submerged in the liquid. This allows airflow which is needed for the Vac to work effectively. By not allowing airflow, unnecessary load is placed on the motor which could lead to motor failure After vacuuming liquids, raise the hose to drain excess liquid into the tank before turning off the unit.

8 OPERATION (cont.) 8. The tank has an internal float which rises with the liquid level until it seats itself against a seal at the intake of the motor, when this happens the suction is shut off. When the suction is shut off the motor will develop a higher than normal pitched noise. Do not continue vacuuming when this happens. Switch the motor off. Disconnect the power supply, remove the motor from the tank. Proceed to empty the tanks contents into a suitable drain. Use special care when emptying heavily loaded tanks. After completing the job, disconnect the power supply. Remove the motor and empty the liquid from the tank. Clean and dry the tank and underside of the motor before storing the unit. Clean the filter, especially after vacuuming sticky liquids. To clean the foam filter, first remove it from the motor bracket then rinse with soap and water. Note: When vacuuming liquids always have the foam filter assembled. Failure to do so may cause the motor to fail. Do not use the cartridge filter when vacuuming liquids, this will prematurely damage the cartridge filter and will also harm the motor. Damage caused by incorrect operation will not be covered under warranty. Blowing To utilise this function remove the hose from the vacuum inlet and push it into the into the blower port in the top of the motor housing. Switch the unit on as per usual. This can be used to clear matter from surfaces and also clear obstructions in the hose. STORING Ensure the Vac has been fully emptied of any dry matter or liquid before it is stored. Wrap the power cord around the cord retention hook (above one of the rear castor wheels) and the blower port. Keep all the accessories with the unit to avoid losing them. Keep in a dry place out of reach of children. MAINTENANCE To prolong the life of the motor filter and dust bag, periodically clear them of dust and debris by giving them a good shake. When necessary replacement motor filters are available through Ozito Industries. Do not oil the motor. Note: Ozito Industries will not be responsible for any damage or injuries caused by the repair of the product by an unauthorised person or by mishandling of the product. 7
