Cautions are designed to alert personnel to hazardous situations that could result in personal injury, while notices indicate a situation that could result in equipment or property-damage-only accidents. Your personal safety and the proper operation of this machine depend upon the strict observance of these precautions. WARNING: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. CAUTION: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury. It could also be used to alert against unsafe practices. NOTICE: Indicates a situation that could result in equipment or property-damage-only accidents. Important Environmental Concerns! Scientific research has shown that certain man-made chemicals can affect the earth's naturally occurring stratospheric ozone layer when released to the atmosphere. In particular, several of the identified chemicals that may affect the ozone layer are refrigerants that contain Chlorine, Fluorine and Carbon (CFCs) and those containing Hydrogen, Chlorine, Fluorine and Carbon (HCFCs). Not all refrigerants containing these compounds have the same potential impact to the environment. Trane advocates the responsible handling of all refrigerants-including industry replacements for CFCs such as HCFCs and HFCs. Responsible Refrigerant Practices! Trane believes that responsible refrigerant practices are important to the environment, our customers, and the air conditioning industry. All technicians who handle refrigerants must be certified. The Federal Clean Air Act (Section 608) sets forth the requirements for handling, reclaiming, recovering and recycling of certain refrigerants and the equipment that is used in these service procedures. In addition, some states or municipalities may have additional requirements that must also be adhered to for responsible management of refrigerants. Know the applicable laws and follow them. 3 Warnings, Cautions and Notices WARNING Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required! Installing/servicing this unit could result in exposure to electrical, mechanical and chemical hazards. Before installing/servicing this unit, technicians MUST put on all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) recommended for the work being undertaken. ALWAYS refer to appropriate MSDS sheets and OSHA guidelines for proper PPE. When working with or around hazardous chemicals, ALWAYS refer to the appropriate MSDS sheets and OSHA guidelines for information on allowable personal exposure levels, proper respiratory protection and handling recommendations. If there is a risk of arc or flash, technicians MUST put on all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with NFPA70E for arc/flash protection PRIOR to servicing the unit. Failure to follow recommendations could result in death or serious injury. Inspection Parts List 1. Unpack all components of the BAYENTH008B kit. 2. Check carefully for any shipping damage. If any damage is found it must be reported immediately and a claim made against the transportation company 2 - Sensor, Humidity 1 - Harness; Wire - Outdoor Air Sensor 1 - Harness; Wire - Return Air Sensor 1 - Thermistor, -40 to 65 C 2 - Tie, Wire 4 - Screw; 6-32 X.75 THD ROLL 1- Bushing 1- Edge Protector 1- Enhanced Econ Logic Module 1- Econ Logic Module mounting screw, # 6-19 x.625 ACC-SVN30B-EN 3

4 Installation Outdoor Humidity Sensor Installation, Downflow Discharge Units WARNING Hazardous Voltage w/capacitors! Disconnect all electric power, including remote disconnects and discharge all motor start/run capacitors before servicing. Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures to ensure the power cannot be inadvertently energized. Verify with an appropriate voltmeter that all capacitors have discharged. Failure to disconnect power and discharge capacitors before servicing could result in death or serious injury. Note: For additional information regarding the safe discharge of capacitors, see PROD-SVB06A- EN or PROD-SVB06A-FR WARNING Proper Field Wiring and Grounding Required! To avoid these hazards, you MUST follow requirements for field wiring installation and grounding as described in NEC and your local/ state electrical codes. Failure to follow code could result in death or serious injury. 1. Shut off all power to the unit. 2. Remove mist eliminator. 3. Remove small access panel located on end panel. 4. Inspect existing economizer actuator for necessary logic module connections. If connections are not present, remove one mounting screw from the top of the existing logic module. Remove existing logic module. Install the new logic module included in the kit. Secure the new logic module with the existing mounting screw or mounting screw provided in the kit. See Figure 1, p Apply edge protector to the rectangular cutout located at the top of the triangular support. See Figure 2, p Mount the outdoor humidity sensor on the outside of the triangular support below and to the left of the economizer actuator, as you face the economizer at the end of the unit. See Figure 2, p. 6. Pre-drilled holes are provided in the triangular support. Note: Air scoop openings on the Humidity Sensor (RHS) should be facing airflow. 7. Connect wires 139A (PR) to the (-) negative terminal and 140A (PR) to the (+) positive terminal of the humidity sensor. See Figure 1, p Route the wiring harness from the sensor, up to and through the rectangular cutout. 9. Attach P12 plug wires 139A (PR) and 140A (PR) to OAH/OAE pins on the actuator motor. See Figure 1, p Secure wires with wire ties. Return Air Humidity Sensor and Return Air Temperature Sensor Installation 1. Connect wires 137A (PR) to the (-) negative terminal and 138A (PR) to the (+) positive terminal of the Return Air Humidity Sensor. See Figure 1, p Install Return Air Humidity Sensor and secure with 2 screws. 3. Route Return Air Humidity Sensor wires 137A (PR) and 138A (PR) through grommet. 4. Attach P9 plug wires 137A (PR) and 138A (PR) to RAH/RAE pin on actuator motor. See Figure 1, p ACC-SVN30B-EN

5 Installation 5. Install Return Air Temperature Sensor with rubber grommet. Refer to Figure 2, p Attach P10 plug wires 141A (PR) and 142A (PR) to RAT pin on actuator motor. See Figure 1, p Secure wires with wire ties. Return Air Humidity Sensor and Return Air Temperature Sensor Installation Note: For future access, install the Humidity Sensor (RHS) and Temperature Sensor (RAS) in the return duct as follows: 1. Cut an opening in the return air duct large enough to clear the Humidity Sensor (RHS). Approximately 3 3/4" wide by 4 1/4" high. See Figure 3, p. 9 for positioning of cutout. ACC-SVN30B-EN 7

8 Installation 2. Mount the Humidity Sensor (RHS) on a mounting plate (fielded supplied) larger than cutout. Approximately 5 3/4" wide by 6 1/4" high. Note: Air scoop openings on the Humidity Sensor (RHS) should be facing airflow. Note: 22 to 18 Gauge Field supplied wire will be required to increase the length of the Humidity Sensor (RHS) harness and Temperature Sensor (RAS) harness. 3. Connect wires 137A (PR) to the (-) negative terminal and 138A (PR) to the (+) positive terminal of the Return Air Humidity Sensor. See Figure 3, p Secure the Temperature Sensor (RAS) to the Humidity Sensor (RHS) harness with one wire tie. 5. Route Return Air Humidity Sensor (RHS) wires 137A (PR), 138A (PR) and Temperature Sensor (RAS) wires 141A (PR) and 142A (PR) down along the inside of the return air duct. 6. Continue routing the wires along the base channel toward the filter access opening, then up through the rectangular notch on the side acturator separator panel. 7. Attach P9 plug wires 137A (PR) and 138A (PR) to RAH/RAE pin on actuator motor. See Figure 1, p Attach P10 plug wires 141A (PR) and 142A (PR) to RAT pin on actuator motor. See Figure 1, p Secure wires with wire ties. 10. Replace small access on end panel. Replace mist eliminator. 11. Secure wiring harnesses with wire ties. 12. Replace access panels. 8 ACC-SVN30B-EN
