1 Daily Office Cleaning Procedure Cards If you have any questions, comments or need to reorder this set of cards, please call

2 Getting Started Verify your equipment, supplies and cleaning products are filled and on your cart. 2 Check to see if equipment is in good working order. 3 Put on personal protective equipment. Common Areas (Each of these rooms needs some of the same cleaning tasks done) Remove trash. 2 Remove recyclables. 3 High dusting and 4 normal dusting. Damp mop the floor. Questions:

3 Entryways and Hallways Vacuum Vacuum mats and then roll up mats so you can dust mop later. 2 Cleaning furnishings Spot or damp clean any washable frequently touched surfaces. 3 Garbage Empty trash containers. Questions:

4 Floors Starting Remove freestanding objects, pick up debris. 2 Use putty knife to remove gum. Dust Mopping 3 Sweep, then use a dustpan and hand broom to pick up debris and dispose into trash container. 4 Mark off areas to be cleaned using Wet Floor signs. 5 Apply solution according to label directions. 6 Pick up solution. Note: Wring mop frequently. You may need to change the mop solution more than once. Questions:

5 Vacuuming Getting Started Vacuuming Stairwells Elevators Pick up large debris. 2 Use an M or W pattern. 3 Use a General Purpose Spotter to remove carpet stains. Allow time to dwell and blot with paper towel or clean cloth and rinse. 4 Sweep or vacuum from top to bottom. 5 Start high and work low. 6 Dust lights and 7 ceiling fixtures and spot clean. Vacuum if carpeted, or damp clean resilient surfaces. Questions:

6 Daily Cleaning Inside the Restroom Note: Use cloths/microfiber and other cleaning materials designated only for restroom areas. Sweep Floor Pick up trash. 2 Start at the 3 Sweep dry 4 farthest corner floor areas. and work toward the door. Pick up soils with a dust pan. Apply product to INTERIOR of toilets and urinals 5 Force the water down the trap. 6 Apply the bowl cleaner/disinfectant 7 under the rim and in the bowl, swab/ brush to apply. Let cleaner/ disinfectant dwell in the bowl per label directions. Questions:

7 Daily Cleaning Inside the Restroom (continued) Apply product to EXTERIOR of toilets and urinals 8 Follow label directions for contact time. Apply product to sinks and countertops Fill Dispensers Empty Trash 9 Let cleaner/ disinfectant dwell per label directions 0 Check and refill all dispensers. Don t press down on the trash. There may be sharp objects in the trash. 2 Place liner in an approved disposal container. 3 Spray with disinfectant, cleaner and wipe dry following label directions. 4 Place a new liner in the trash can and return to the proper location. Questions:

9 Daily Cleaning Inside the Restroom (continued) Wipe EXTERIORS of toilets and urinals Clean frequently touched surfaces 2 Never use the bowl mop. 22 Dry the seat and the lid of the toilet. 23 Wipe down all plumbing pipes with a dry cloth to prevent spotting. 24 Wipe light switches, push plates, kick plates and doorknobs. Spot clean walls 25 Spray cleaner on cloth. Wipe and rinse according to label directions. Clean showers and tubs Use restroom cleaner for removal of soap scum. In a large shower area a portable dispenser or a pressure washer can be used. Questions:

10 Daily Cleaning Inside the Restroom (continued) Mop Floors 29 Odor Control Place Wet Floor Signs. 30 Damp mop the floor with a disinfectant, general purpose cleaner or deodorant digester/cleaner. 3 Start from the farthest corner and work towards the door. 32 Remove Wet Floor signs after floor is dry. 33 Use bacteriabased cleaner or chlorinated high alkaline cleaner in floor drains. 34 Mop with bacteriabased cleaner to remove lingering odors and stains. Questions:

All sinks and counter All toliets and urinal 5 Clean/check equipment. 6 Check supply closet. 7 Stock cart making sure to check and refill all bottles and supplies. 8 Remove Personal Protective Equipment and wash hands. Questions:

Questions: Changing a full barrel 6 Tie of the liner and bring it to the drop location and place bag on an empty can liner or empty box to protect from leaking. 7 To avoid back injury, tip the trash barrel over onto its side and remove, bend at the knees and not at the waist.

14 End of Shift Procedures Clean and store equipment. Final Trash 2 Refill cart organize closet. 3 Collect remaining trash and bring to collection site. 4 Remove your personal protective equipment and wash hands. Forms 5 Submit inspections forms, notify supervisor of any areas that need additional attention. Questions:
