1 Medical electronic suction unit Properties and uses Suction units MEVACS 40, MOD-1 present a new generation of suction units. Their operation is very easy. The whole suction process is controlled by microprocessor and the choice of the mode of suction and parameters are set on the touch screen. This makes them suitable for general use in surgery, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, genecology, and thorax draining, at AR-UIC departments, as well as for suction from air passages. There is no service-needed vacuum pump into the suction unit. Besides classical suction have special modes - drainage suction, pulse suction, vacuum extraction and STAND-BY function. 2 Main advantages of the suction unit are the following: 1. Oil-free vacuum pump, maintenance-free. 2. High level of underpressure - 93 kpa / 700 mmhg (93% of vacuum). 3. High suction output - MEVACS - 40 l/min 4. Long-term operation - several days. 5. Simple operation on the touch screen and a visual indication of the amount of vacuum achieved. 6. Very low noise level. 7. Microprocessor guaranteed precise height control vacuum. 8. STANBY function - standby economical mode (frequent unit switching on and off during the operation is not necessary). 9. Reliable overflow protection system: safety jar for foaming secretions with safety valve in the lid safety valve against overflow in the lid of collecting jar contactless electronic scanning of filling collection jar (after filling the jar is suction stopped automatically - light and sound signalling) hydrophobic microbiologiccal filter 10. 4 Vacuum control and parameter settings On control and setting the required parameters is intended "Touch Screen". 5 Foot switch and selecting the method to use Foot switch can operate in two modes: a) as a foot vacuum regulator - MOMENTERY b) as an ON / OFF switch Mode foot controller - MOMENTERY: by switch on suction unit and by pressing and holding the suction foot controller suction unit works (increasing vacuum to the set value) and releasing the suction foot controller stops working Mode ON / OFF: by switch on suction unit and by pressing the foot control switch ON the suction as if we have turned on the main switch ON / OFF repeatedly pressing the suction unit is switched off. Touch the icon (32) "Footswitch" (the visible points ON) mode is set to "FOOT CONTROLLER - MOMENTERY". Repeatedly touch switches to the mode (the visible points OFF) "ON / OFF". Suction modes The suction unit MEVACS has the following suction modes: 1. Suction "NORMAL MODE" in the range 0 to max. vacuum (0 to -93 kpa) with automatic "STANDBY". 2. Soft suction DRAINAGE in the range -5 to -20 kpa. 3. Pulse suction PULSE in the range 0 to max. vacuum (0 to -93 kpa) 4. Vacuum extraction VACEXTR with controlled vacuum rise. Suction NORMAL MODE The basic suction mode between 0 and -93 kpa. Size vacuum selected easily - by touching the desired value. STANBY mode - power saving mode. This mode is recommended in cases with frequent switching on and off. 6 Soft suction DRAINAGE" Range of suction 0-20 kpa. Touch to select the value of the of vacuum of 4 pre-set values 5; 10; 15 or 20 kpa or vacuum can also select continuously from 1 kpa to 20 kpa by touching the screen. Mode soft suction "DRAINAGE" serves primarily to protect the soft tissue in long term suction surgical wounds. By leech onto tissue to suction cannula the suction unit automatically interrupts the process of suction holding time and then vacuum drops to zero. Values holding time at max. vacuum and zero vacuum can be set from 0 to 12.5 seconds. After the pre-set time will be suction process automatically resumes. Pulse suction PULSE Range of suction 0-93 kpa. The "PULSE" is used mainly to protect the delicate tissue, so its use is for heavy operations in the brain, heart, intestine.... By leech onto tissue to suction cannula the suction unit after reaching the set maximum vacuum automatically interrupts the process of suction holding time and then vacuum drops to a minimum value set. After the pre-set time will be suction process automatically resumes. Values holding time the "MAX" vacuum can be set from 0 to 6.2 sec. and for "MIN" vacuum in the range from 0 to 12.5 sec. Vacuum extraction VACEXTR The suction unit can automatically manage the startup of vacuum. By selecting the "VACEXTR" and the closed end of the extraction cup device automatically creates a vacuum of 20 kpa. The vacuum was gradually increased step by 2 kpa and a pause between each step is factory-set to 6 seconds. The vacuum is gradually increased up to the set value. After reaching the maximum set value, a short acoustic signal. If it is necessary above (or below) the vacuum, its value we can continue to increase to a maximum of 93 kpa. With repeated run-up to the desired final value of vacuum MEVACS climb on previously attained value of vacuum it without delay and continues in automatic mode. Microbiological filter Suction microbiologic filter eliminated risk of contamination with bacteria, viruses and infected particle from patient to vacuum pump or central vacuum distribution. Suction microbiological filter is hydrophobic with very high bacterial efficiencies up to 99,99999% particles bigger than 0,027 micron (which is smaller than Hepatitis A, B and C).
