2 Initial Start-up Your spa will enter Priming Mode (Pr) when it is energized. During Priming Mode, press Jets button(s) repeatedly and be sure all pumps are free of air. Priming Mode lasts less than 5 minutes. Press Temp to exit. After Priming Mode, the spa will run in Standard Mode (see Mode section). Some panels may not have a Temp button. On these panels the Set, Warm or Cool buttons are used. Temp Control (80 F F / 26.0 C C) The last measured water temperature is constantly displayed. The water temperature displayed is current only when the pump has been running for at least 2 minutes. On panels with a single Temp or Set button, to display the set temperature, press the button once. To change the set temperature, press the button at second time before the display stops flashing. Each press of the button will continue to either raise or lower the set temperature. If the opposite direction is desired, allow the display to revert to the current water temperature. Press the button to display the set temperature, and again to make the temperature change in the desired direction. On panels with Warm and Cool buttons, to display the set temperature, press Warm or Cool once. To change the set temperature, press a temperature button again before the display stops flashing. Each press Warm or Cool will adjust the set temperature. After three seconds, the display will stop flashing and begin to display the current spa temperature. Jets 1 Press Jets 1 to turn pump 1 on or off, and to shift between low and high speeds (if equipped). The low-speed will turn off after 4 hours. High-speed will turn off after 15 minutes. Low-speed may run automatically at times, during which it cannot be deactivated from the panel, but highspeed may be operated.

3 Jets 2 / Jets 3 / Blower (if equipped) Press the corresponding button once to turn the device on or off. The device will turn off after 15 minutes. Pump 2 may be two-speed on some systems. Some systems use this one button to control two devices. The first button press will activate one device. Press again to have both devices active. Press again to turn off the first device only. Press one more time to turn both devices off. The pump is responsible for heating and filtration (pump 1 low-speed on non-circ system, or the circ on circ systems) will be referred to simply as the pump. In multi-button sequences, if the buttons are pressed too quickly in sequence, they may not register. Light Press Light to operate the spa light. Turns off after 4 hours. Mode Depending on the system configuration, mode changing may not be available and will be locked in Standard Mode. Mode is changed by pressing Temp, then Light. Standard Mode maintains set temperature. St will be displayed momentarily when you switch into Standard Mode. Economy Mode heats the spa to the set temperature only during filter cycles. Ec will display when water temp is not current, and will alternate with water temp when the pump is running. Sleep Mode heats the spa to within 20 F/10 C of the set temperature only during filter cycles. Sl will display when water temp is not current, and will alternate with water temp when the pump is running. Preset Filter Cycles The first preset filter cycle begins 6 minutes after the spa is energized. The second preset filter cycle begins 12 hours later. Filter duration is programmable for 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours or for continuous filtration (indicated by FC). The default filter time is 2 hours for non-circ systems and 4 hours for circ systems. To program press Temp then Jets 1. Press Temp to adjust. Press Jets 1 to exit programming. For non-circ systems, low-speed pump 1 and the ozone generator (if installed) run during filtration. For circulation systems, the circulation pump and the ozone generator (if installed) run 24 hours. In hot environment the circ pump may turn off 30 minute periods except during filter cycles. At the beginning of each filter cycle all other equipment will run briefly to purge the plumbing. Diagnostic Messages

Sensors are out of balance. If alternating with spa temperature, it may just be a temporary condition. If flashing by itself, spa is shut down. * HL A significant difference between temperature sensors has been detected. This could indicate a flow problem. LF dr Persistent low flow problem. (Displays ont he fifth occurence of HFL message within 24 hours.) Heater is shut down, but other spa functions continue tor un normally Possible inadequate water, poor flow, or air bubbles in detected int he heater. Spa is shut down for 15 minutes. your dealer or service organization. Do not enter the water! Remove the spa cover and allow water to cool. At 107 F/41.7 C, the spa should automatically reset. If spa does not reset, shut off the power to the spa ans call your dealer or service organization. If the problem persists, contact your dealer or service organization. The equipment stays on 4 minutes after the sensor detect that the spa temperature has risen to 45 F/7.2 C or higher. An optional freeze sensor may be added to protect against extraordinaly freeze conditions. Auxiliary freeze sensor protection is advisable is colder climates. * Even when spa is shut down, some equipment will turn on if freeze protection is needed. WARNING! Shock Hazard! Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician and all grounding connections must be properly installed.

10 CLEANING GENERAL INFORMATION: Water recirculation-filtering The basic conditions for keeping the water of the massage basin clean are the removal of mechanical dirt and the blending of the chemicals in the water with continuous water recirculation. In all our basins appliances comprising of a pump and a filter are used for this purpose. The filter removes the dirt floating in the water or at the surface of the water. Filters with paper or textile filter medium are used for the basins. The dirt settled at the bottom of the basin is filtered out with the aid of the suction and stirring created by the massage pumps. Don't leave the spa expose to the sun without water or the cover, Exposure to direct sunlight can cause solar distress of the shell material. Use and cover spa cover when spa is not in use, whether it is empty or full. Try to deep your spa away form rain, snow, if possible build a gazebo for your spa. 1. Don't attempt to open the electrical control box. There are no user serviceable parts inside. 2. Drain, clean and refill your spa with fresh water on a regular schedule. 3. Clean the filter cartridge at least once per month. 4. Have spa users bathe before entering the spa water, showering without soap prior to enter the spa, and using only the rinse cycle when laundering your bathing suit, will help avoiding detergent and soap residue in spa water. FILTER CARTRIDGE RMOVAL AND CLEANING You spa filter cartridge can become clogged with mineral particles of calcification from hard water. Which may result in reduced water flow. We recommended cleaning you filter cartridge every month. 1.Remove filter lid. 2.Unscrew filter cartridge. 3.Clean with high pressure nozzle to remove all debris clinging to the filter. 4.Soak filter in warm water and Wellis Alga-Sokk to remove all body oils and grime. Never use chlorine to clean the filter! If you use textile filter, you can wash it int he washing machine too. The chemical equilibrium of the water The water of the whirlpool will be clean and clear if its chemical components are in equilibrium. 1. ph-values: The first important indicator is the ph value of the water. ph is measured in a scale between 0-14 where 7 is the neutral value. Below this level the water is acid, above it alkaline. The ph value of the human eye is around 7.5, below 7.2 and above 7.8 the water will sting the eyes of the bather. Experiences have shown that most problems are caused by a too high ph value. An improper value reduces the effect of the disinfectant. 2. Water hardness: Water hardness is determined by the quantity of calcium and magnesium salts dissolved in the water. Hard waters contain too much of these dissolved salts and thus, left alone, scale will form. Scales can cause

11 significant damage both to the walls of the basin, to the piping, filter and to the heating and engineering units. In Hungary waters are medium hard. Water hardness cannot be reduced by the addition of chemicals, but the formation of scales can be prevented. 3. Disinfection: Disinfectant: is the chemical that eliminates or neutralises the microorganisms (bacteria, algae, fungi, viruses) present in the water. Microorganisms are small, microscopic organisms, which cannot be detected with the naked eye and are continuously getting into the water through rain, wind and the body of the bathers. If they are not eliminated they pass from one person to the other through the water (and may cause sickness, infection). Organic matter turns the water of the basin opaque and cloudy. Most often as we are dealing with warm water basins bromine or active oxygen is used. 4. Frothing: Froth is the smaller-bigger agglomeration of the bubbles and colloid contaminants found on the surface of the water. It is mostly caused by the mixing of the dirt, cosmetics, body care lotions, etc. that soak out of the human skin and the chemicals. It endangers the conservation of the aesthetic appearance and cleanliness of the water. 5. Water analysers: There are several different types of water analysers, which are mostly used to measure chemical and disinfectant effect. Chemical (ph); Disinfectant (Br, O 3 ) Types: - Box containing tablets and graduated measuring glass. - Litmus paper indicators in a box. FIRST WATER TREATMENT It is recommended to fill-up the basin through a water softener device, with softened water. 1. Measurement of ph value: (value between ) ideal value: at high ph value: ph is required - at low ph value: ph + is required Mostly they come in the form of granules therefore they should be applied in dissolved form, or scattered into the water. After the preparation is fully blended the adjusted value can be measured after minutes. An advice: in general after the whirlpool was in use the ph value of the water increases. Recommended chemical preparation: WELLIS MÍNUSZ P PH-value reducing preparation (granule) Use: For reducing the ph value of private or public baths Application: Apply WELLIS MÍNUSZ P dissolved in water either manually, or with the aid of a dosing pimp; to achieve 0.1 ph reduction of swimming pool water use 1 kg for 100 m 3 water, or to achieve 1 ph reduction of basin water use 0.1 kg for 1m 3 water. (Approximate value for normal water) Active ingredient: Sodium bisulphate 100% It should be applied with the ph value already adjusted. Recommended chemicals: 2. Application of the disinfectant:

12 WELLIS DEWAN-20 WP Swimming pool disinfecting tablet with active oxygen Use: It can only be used together with WELLIS ALGI-CID liquid algaecide preparation. It does not change the ph value of the water. Ideal concentration in the basin water: 3-8 mg/l O 2, which can be checked with WELLIS DEWAN-20 tester. Application: With floating tabled dissolver. On the first occasion apply 2 x WELLIS DEWAN-20 WP tablets and 15 ml WELLIS ALGI-CID liquid for 1 m 3 water. In the case of continuous use apply 1 tablet and 10 ml WELLIS ALGI-CID liquid for 1 m 3 water once per week. Approximately 2 hours after the tablets have dissolved the level of active oxygen can be measured, which should be 3 mg/l. Active ingredient: potassium-persulphate WELLIS ALGI-CID Liquid to prevent the formation of algae Use: A WELLIS ALGI-CID is excellent for preventing the growth of algae and fungi in swimming pools and whirlpools. The preparation is biodegradable. It is a necessary part of both chlorine and non-chlorine disinfection procedures of swimming pool waters. WELLIS DEWAN-20 is the supplemental chemical of non chlorine disinfectant. Application: The preparation produces an ant-algae and anti-fungi effect when used regularly in the specified dosage. The dosage depending on the basin hydraulics: Outdoors: 6-10 ml/m 3 /week. Indoors: 3-10 ml/m 3 /week. Active ingredient: polyquaternary ammonium 30% WELLIS DEWAN -20 TESTER To measure the ph value and the DEWAN-20 concentration of the basin water. Instructions for use: 1. Immerse the graduated measuring glass into the basin water and fill it up to the mark. 2.Put x pieces of Phenol Red tablet in the left side water column. 3.Put 1 DPD 4 tablet in the right side water column. 4.Cover the measuring glass and shake it until the tablets are dissolved. 5. Read the ph value by comparing the colour of the left side ph water column to the sample. 6. Read the DEWAN-20 concentration by comparing the colour of the right side O2-water column to the sample. The equilibrium of the basin s disinfection is acceptable if the level of chemicals do not fall below the specified value for at least a period of 48 hours. The chemicals must always be applied to the filter case. Even with the most accurate disinfection water quality cannot be conserved after 2-3 months, and it is essential to change the water. At such times the large scale, shock-like disinfection of the basin is recommended. 3. Scaling: Prevents the deposition of scales and metal salts. Dosage depends on the volume of the water. Recommended chemical: WELLIS METAL MAGIC F

13 Preparation for scaling and metal removal from swimming pool waters (liquid) Use: WELLIS METAL MAGIC F liquid is excellent to remove limestone and metal deposits from the walls and bottom of basins. Application: With the filter in operation pour l WELLIS METAL MAGIC F liquid evenly onto the surface of the water. Let the filter operate for 48 hours, then wash. The basin can be used immediately after the application of the preparation! Active ingredient: HEDP 4. Anti frothing: When an increased frothing of the basin water is observed (shampoo may have gotten into the water) Recommended chemical: WELLIS HABSTOP F Anti frothing liquid for basins Use: The preparation reduces effectively frothing caused by body care lotions or other materials. Application: Depending on the strength of frothing, ml for 10m 3 basin water until frothing stops. After the application, wait until the preparation is fully blended with the water. It is not a hazardous material. It does not take part in chemical reactions. Active ingredient: silicon colloid Replacing underwater light 1. Turn off thepower on the spa. 2. Remove plastic panel behind where the underwater light is situated. 3. There is a plug with two wires going into the back of the light. 4. Remove this plug by turning anticlockwise. 5. Replace faulty light globe with a new one. 6. Replace parts and put the plastic panel back on. TROUBLESHOOTING

Length and cross sections of cabels: Electric condition: 1x20A 3 2,5mm 2 MTK cabel is required (230V) (in this case during usage of 2HP pumps the heating is not working) In case of full opertaion: 1x25A 3 4mm 2 MTK cabel is required (in this case during usage of 2HP pumps the heating is working) In case of sinking just allowed to sinking part which is under the spa`s acrylic-flange. You have to make safe the diversion of inlet water in the deepest point of the inspection pit. The inspection pit has to be aired accordingly (proposal: building in an extractor fan). The inspection pit`s minimum width is 60 cm around the spa. If the spa is placed indoor please make allowances for the following special requirements: The water accumulates around the spa so the socket cover has to be in possession of a suitable drainage. This arrangement hinders the water in collecting. Given sizes above are only information, there may be variant sizes on the grounds of the spa`s manufacturing technique.
