Introducing the new ARO series universal room controller with onboard CO 2, VOC, temperature and humidity sensors, selectable application control profiles, up to 4 simultaneous control loops, and seamless control of a 0-10 Vdc ECM fan. All of this in one wall-mounted room controller. The AROB series networkable controller operates over an RS 485 network using the BACnet MS/TP or Modbus protocol to exchange information with a Building Management System. 3 Wiring We strongly recommend to wire all controllers to a separate grounded transformer, and that transformer shall service only these products. This precaution prevents interference with and possible damage to incompatible equipment. 4 Mounting Instructions CAUTION: Remove power to avoid a risk of malfunction. A. Remove the captive screw that is holding the base and the front cover of the unit together. B. Lift the front cover of the unit to separate it from the base. C. Pull all wires through the holes in the base. D. Secure the base to the wall using wall anchors and screws (supplied). The maximum value is restricted by the minimum value set at Step 2, "Min Cool Setpnt". In other words, the value that is set as the maximum cannot be less than the minimum value. 6. This cooling setpoint value is restricted by the heating setpoint values defined at Step 7, "HEAT setpnt". The cooling 7. In other words, the value that is set as the maximum cannot be less than the minimum value. 9. " HEAT setpnt" 20ºC 0ºC to 125ºC [68ºF] [32ºF to 257ºF] Set the cooling setpoint that will be used in the Operation mode. This cooling setpoint value is restricted by the heating setpoint values defined at Step 4, "cool setpnt". The heating 10. To authorize all the available modes, select Auto (Automatic Mode). The cooling and heating symbols are also displayed. 7 Humidity Setpoints and User Control ARO Series Universal Room Controller The humidity and dehumidification configuration setpoints require a functioning humidity sensor installed. These setpoints appear only on the models with the humidity sensor. For more information on supported models, see 'Error! Reference source not found.on page " Humdty Offset" Offset: 40% ±5% 10% to 90% RH 0.1% RH The display shows the relative humidity percentage read by the humidity sensor. Adjust the offset by comparing it with a known value humidistat. If the sensor is not connected or short-circuited, unit displays the sensor's limits. 12. "Dehum setpnt Min " 10.0% RH 0 to 80.0% RH 0.1% RH In the Operation mode, you cannot decrease the setpoint to less than the value set as the minimum dehumidify setpoint. The dehumidification 13. "Dehum setpnt Max " 80.0% RH 10.0 to 100.0% RH 0.1% RH In the Operation mode, you cannot increase the setpoint to more than the value set as the maximum dehumidification setpoint. The maximum value is restricted by the minimum value set at Step 12, "Dehum setpnt". In other words, the value that is set as the maximum cannot be less than the minimum value. The dehumidification 14. "Dehum setpnt" 60.0% RH 0 to 100.0% RH 0.1% RH Select the desired dehumidification setpoint of the zone in occupied operation mode. The setpoint value is restricted by the minimum at Step 10, "Dehum setpnt" and maximum at Step 11, "Dehum setpnt" values. The dehumidification symbol is also displayed. 15. "Hum setpnt Min " 10.0% RH 0.0 to 100.0% RH 0.1% RH In the Operation mode, you cannot decrease the setpoint to less than the value set as the minimum humidity setpoint. The minimum value is restricted by the maximum value set at Step 14, "Hum setpnt". In other words, the value that is set as the minimum cannot be greater than the maximum value. The humidity 16. "Hum setpnt Max " 80.0% RH 0.0 to 100.0% RH 0.1% RH In the Operation mode, you cannot increase the setpoint to more than the value set as the maximum humidity setpoint. The maximum value is restricted by the minimum value set at Step 13, "Hum setpnt". In other words, the value that is set as the maximum cannot be less than the minimum value. The humidity Page 7

8 17. "Hum setpnt" 40.0% RH 0.0 to 100.0% RH 0.1% RH Set the desired humidity setpoint. The setpoint value is restricted by the minimum at Step 13, "Hum setpnt" and at Step 14, "Hum setpnt" values. The humidity 18. "Humdty Mode", hun, Auto, and dhun Select the humidity mode that you want to authorize to the user. To authorize all the available modes, select Auto (Automatic Mode). The selection made at this step determines the options available on the Operation mode. The controller can be set in Humidification or Dehumidification mode or both. When both are used, the controller will request a humidity demand until the humidity setpoint is reached. If the humidity level increases to the dehumidify setpoint (should be higher than humidity setpoint), the controller will request a dehumidify demand, which usually activates air conditioning. The humidity CO2 Setpoints and Modes The CO2 configuration setpoints require a functioning humidity sensor installed. These setpoints appear only on the models with the CO2 sensor. For more information on supported models, see 'Error! Reference source not found.on page "CO2 Offset" Offset: 600 ppm ± 250 ppm 1.0 ppm Compare the displayed CO2 level reading with a known value from a CO2 sensing device. To offset or calibrate the sensor, use the arrow buttons to set the desired CO2 level reading. This is useful for controllers installed in areas where the CO2 level is slightly different than the prescribed value. The alarm icon appears in case of a sensor malfunction. 20. "CO2 Setpnt Min " ppm 0 to ppm 1.0 ppm In the Operation mode, you cannot decrease the setpoint to less than the value set as the minimum CO2 setpoint. The minimum value is restricted by the maximum value set at Step 19, "CO2 Setpnt". In other words, the value that is set as the minimum cannot be greater than the maximum value. The CO2 21. "CO2 Setpnt Max " 1500 ppm 0 to 2000 ppm 1.0 ppm In the Operation mode, you cannot increase the setpoint to more than the value set as the maximum CO2 setpoint. The maximum value is restricted by the minimum value set at Step 18, "CO2 Setpnt". In other words, the value that is set as the maximum cannot be less than the minimum value. The CO2 22. "VOC Setpnt Max " 1000 ppb 0 to 1000 ppb 1.0 ppb In the Operation mode, you cannot increase the setpoint to more than the value set as the maximum VOC setpoint. The maximum value is restricted by the minimum value set at Step 23, "VOC Setpnt". In other words, the value that is set as the maximum cannot be less than the minimum value. The VOC 27. The minimum value is restricted by the maximum value at Step 28, "AO1 Max Volt". In other words, the minimum value should be less than the maximum value. 30. "AO1 Max Volt" 0 Volt 0 to 10 Volts 0.1 Volt Select the desired maximum voltage ( span value) for the AO1 ramp. The maximum value is restricted by the minimum value at Step 27, "AO1 Min Volt". In other words, the maximum value should not be less than the minimum value. 31. "AO1 Mode" HIGH HIGH and AvrG Select the desired AO1 mode from High or Average. This mode determines how the controller calculates the AO1 ramp output value (0-10Vdc unless the min/max values were changed). The controller compares all the assigned input values and uses either the highest value or the average of all values depending on the selected mode (High or AvrG). The controller compares all the assigned input values and uses either the highest value or the average of all values depending on the selected mode (High or AvrG). Assign one or more of the following input values to AO1 (steps 44 to 50): Fan Cool Heat Dehumidification Humidification CO2 VOC If the Fan Mode setting in the Operation mode is set to, the Analog Output will remain at a minimum voltage (default: 0Vdv). 43. "BO1 DIRREV" NO NO (Normally Open) and NC (Normally Close) Set the desired direction for the binary output1 from the options; NO (NO to NC) or NC (NC to NO). Page 13

14 53. "BO1 TPM HYST" HYST HYST and TPM Select the desired binary output 1 hysteresis from the options; HYST and TPM (Time Proportional Modulation). The hysteresis range is 0% (low) to High (20%). 54.
