2 General description of the Sierra mobile or stationary 2700 baler In the world of scrap metal processing, equipment value and capability are essential to a profitable business, and the Sierra 2700 BALER delivers on both counts. A baler / logger that s sized perfectly for cost-conscious operators. With its rugged selfframed construction the Sierra 2700 baler incorporates features found in machines much more costly. Our highly efficient hydraulic and power unit allow our customers to prepare their material with a very low cost per ton ratio. This means a higher operational margin and a higher profit. The production capacity of this machine is unique for a machine of this segment. Due to the cutting blades on both lids it is particularly well suited for long material such as extrusions. The machine has a high baling pressure and it is used by ferrous and non ferrous scrap processors throughout the world.

The power unit of all Sierra machines has been designed in such a way that the least possible amount of energy is needed to obtain the highest possible output ratio. The mobile machine is diesel driven while the stationary version can be both diesel or electric driven. 4 Hydraulic unit The 2700 baler and logger uses top of the line Denison pump and valves. This combination guarantees the best possible speed with low energy consumption. A combination of a Rexroth variable displacement pump with a Denison vane pump is found on all 2700 balers. The vane pump is used for low pressure and speed (return of all cylinders) while the Rexroth will work when pressure and speed is needed. 5 Control unit Ergonomic and easy to use controls enable a reliable and fast operation of the Sierra 2700 baler. The unparalleled superiority of all Sierra components have proven to be the most reliable in the industry. They are particularly well suited for the scrap yard environment where vibrations, dirt, dust and humidity prove to be fatal to most common components. The control panel is situated next to the baling chamber giving the operator optimum visibility. The machine can also be equipped with automatic cycle and radio remote control.

6 Charging box The unique Sierra charging box design enable to size material quickly and to close the box without losing precious time. The 2700 baler is equipped with blades on lids: long material is therefore automatically cut to size. The production capacity of any baler is determined by the amount of time needed to close the charging box. All Sierra charging boxes are fully lined with thick Hardox 400 plates. The lids of the 2700 baler are equipped with changeable blades. The 2700 baler can also be mounted on roll on roll off platform for a semi mobile release or completely mobile in a proper structure with wheels!
