4 Power unit The advanced Sierra technology enables us to reach high production levels with only a 230 HP engine. This translates into low processing costs. The power unit of all Sierra machines has been designed in such a way that the least possible amount of energy is needed to obtain the highest possible output ratio. The gear reduction and pump coupling device is separately cooled to increase lifetime and performance. 6 Control unit and crane A large and comfortable cabin with full glass panel allows for total visibility of the working area. The cabin is equipped with a comfortable seat, air conditioning and sound system. Ergonomic and easy to use controls enable a reliable and fast operation of the mobile AL5000 mobile baler with crane. The machine is equipped with 3 static and one mobile stabilizer for enhanced safety of the operator The unparalleled superiority of all Sierra components have proven to be the most reliable in the industry. They are particularly well suited for the scrap yard environment where vibrations, dirt, dust and humidity prove to be fatal to most common components. The control panel is situated on the cabin which contains all electrical components of the machine. This unit is located inside the operators cabin. The production capacity of any baler is determined by the amount of time needed to closed the charging box. All Sierra charging boxes are fully lined with replaceable Hardox 400 plates. 9 The hinges are never exposed to scrap when the box is closed. This is the case on most competing machines. Replacement of the hinges is a very expensive and time consuming issue. Downtime of weeks must be calculated for this repair. With the unique Sierra design replacement is not necessary as hinges are not subject to wear. The hinges have a diameter of 80 mm The AL5000 mobile baler uses two opposite cylinders and creates a bale in the middle of the box. The solid electro welded structure has to meet very strict quality control procedures. All welds are checked by ultrasound in order to assure a long lifetime.
