UV ight aters genetic materia within the ces, which interrupts respiration. UV ight, when used propery, is extremey beneficia in destroying disease causing pathogens as they pass through the unit. UV steriization is an effective method of disease contro. Four major factors affect the percent ki of free-foating micro -organisms by UV radiation. () Size of organisms. (2) Radiation eve. (3) The extent to which UV rays penetrate the water and (4) Contact time in which the micro-organism is exposed to the UV radiation. Pure hard quartz materia in the bub dramaticay increases UV output compared to other conventiona bubs of equa wattage. Pure quartz materia resists soarization and improves the ongevity of the bub. Unique test tube stye pure hard quartz seeve isoates the bub from water contact preventing therma shock, broken gass and mercury contamination of the aquarium. This quartz seeve isoates the bub to provide an optima bub operating temperature of 1 F (38 C). This higher bub temperature increases UV output 35% over conventiona units without seeves. Bub changing is the easiest in the industry. Simpy side the od bub out and side the new bub in. No need to shut down the fiter system or turn off the pump. Bub and baast connect together with a singe 4 pin connector. UV radiation eves can be increased by sowing down the fow rate or increasing the tota wattage in the system.
