3 4 WHY SHRED? Information theft occurs when an individual s or company s personal or confidential information is obtained and used by another person without their knowledge. Identity fraud happens when criminals use this information fraudulently to obtain credit, goods or other services in that person s or company s name. All countries have data protection legislation in place to ensure that companies dispose of documents safely and securely. 11 20 SHREDDER SPECIFICATIONS TERMILOGY COOL DOWN PERIOD The length of time the motor takes to completely cool down after the thermal overload protection feature has been triggered. CUTTER WARRANTY The length of time the cutting blades of the machine are under warranty. DIN LEVEL Shows the security level of the shredder grouped by classifications; basic (DIN 1), higher (DIN 2 & DIN 3), superior (DIN 4). ELECTRONIC AUTO-START This auto-start functions when a sheet is passed through a beam of light, reducing the risk of jamming. MACHINE WARRANTY The length of time the machine and all its parts are under warranty MECHANICAL AUTO-START This auto-start functions when a sheet of paper triggers a micro-switch, which starts the shredding process. ISE LEVEL AT CAPACITY The amount of noise produced by the shredder (in decibels) whilst in use at full sheet capacity. RUN TIME The length of time the shredder will run before the thermal overload protection feature is triggered allowing the motor to cooldown before it can be operated again. SHEET CAPACITY Number of sheets that can be fed into a shredder in one go. This value is calculated using 70gsm A4 paper. SHRED SPEED The average speed paper is fed through the shredder, measured in metres per minute. THERMAL OVERLOAD PROTECTION Protects the shredder motor from overheating and lengthens the product life. THROAT WIDTH The throat or entry width of the opening into which the paper is fed. This determines the size of the paper that can be used without folding it.
