Fan defrost A fan at the back of the oven circulates air (without heat) evenly around the frozen food for hygienic and quicker defrosting. Convection oven function Combines top and bottom heating elements with the fan for even heating. Ideal for baking cookies, tarts and other pastry. True convection oven A fan behind the back wall of the oven forces preheated air through heating elements and then distributes the heated air evenly throughout the oven. Allows you to simultaneous cook different foods at different levels without taking on taste from each other. Cooks and bakes quickly and evenly. You don t need to preheat the oven. 5 Dishwashers Once you ve had a dishwasher, it s hard to imagine life without one. Dishwashers save time, water and energy, and make it easier to keep the kitchen tidy. All our dishwashers are Energy Star qualified. That means they save precious energy and reduce your running costs. This is how you choose your dishwasher: Choose your style First decide whether or not you want your dishwasher to be a visible feature in your kitchen. You can choose a traditional dishwasher, one with a stainless steel front, or an integrated appliance installed behind a door that matches the rest of your kitchen fronts. Consider your needs Choose your dishwasher according to how often you cook and need to do the dishes. Also consider how big your household is and how much tableware you use. Our dishwashers come in two sizes. If you have a large household and cook a lot, a tall-tub dishwasher gives you a valuable extra 3 inches of loading space room enough for 14 place settings and lots of pots and pans. Even so, it still fits into the same standard-width gap between base cabinets. For smaller households, a regular model for 10 place settings will do fine. Extra features The dishwasher should have a wide range of cycles and options, from rinse only to heavy wash for heavily soiled pots, pans and casseroles. Consider whether you want any extra features such as a delayed wash option. Then you can set the dishwasher to start later, either to prevent the noise of the machine from disturbing other activities, or to save money by operating during off-peak hours. Alternatively you can choose a model with an extra option of drying dishes without additional heat: that saves energy and is extremely practical when drying plates and mugs made of heat-sensitive materials. For extra hygienic dish washing, choose a model with a sanitation rinse. The water temperature of the final rinse is raised to 155 F (68 C) to provide the high wash temperature required to sanitize dishes. Oven with basic functions Our thermal oven will suit your needs if you cook traditionally like with basic heating elements on the top and bottom of the oven that are combined to provide even browning during the bake and roast cycle. The function is ideal both for cooking dishes that need a crispy finish and for the slow cooking of casseroles. You have several finishes and designs to choose from, including an extractor hood that you can suspend from the ceiling above a kitchen island or place in a corner. Two installation alternatives Most of our extractor fans and hoods can be installed in two ways: air with steam, grease, etc. is either led outside through a duct, or passes through a charcoal filter, where it is cleaned and then recirculated in the kitchen. Not all kitchens have access to ventilation ducts, but recirculation is always an option. Replacement charcoal filters can be bought at the store. If you do a lot of cooking, choose a hood with a higher flow rate (measured in cubic feet per minute, CFM) to eliminate odors, steam and grease. Consider your space Keep your kitchen fresh while cooking. When choosing an extractor hood or fan make sure its extraction rate is suitable for the size and layout of your kitchen. The larger the kitchen, the higher the extraction rate. A hood or fan that is too powerful for the room may increase noise levels and energy costs unnecessarily. Sound levels of extractor hoods are measured in sones: the smaller the number, the quieter the operation. Install an extractor hood/fan The minimum distance between cooktops and extractor hood/fan should be 24 (61 cm) if you have an electric cooktop and 30 (76 cm) if you have a gas cooktop.
