Reorient the receiving antenna of radio or television. 3. Move the microwave oven away from the receiver. 4. Plug the microwave oven into a different outlet so that microwave oven and receiver are on different branch circuits. MICROWAVE COOKING PRINCIPLES 1. Arrange food carefully. Place the thickest areas towards the outside of the dish. 2. Watch the cooking time. Cook for the shortest amount of time indicated and add more as needed. Food severely overcooked can smoke or ignite. 3. Cover foods while cooking. Covers prevent spattering and help foods to cook evenly. 4. Turn foods over once during microwaving to speed cooking of such foods as chicken and hamburgers. Large items like roasts must be turned over at least once. 5. Rearrange foods such as meatballs halfway through cooking both from top to bottom and from the centre of the dish to the outside. UTENSILS GUIDE 1. We advise you to use utensils that are specially conceived for microwave cooking as they allow energy to pass through the container and heat the food. 2. Microwaves cannot penetrate metal, so metal utensils or dishes with a metallic trim should not be used. 3. Do not use recycled paper products when microwave cooking, as they may contain small metal fragments which may cause sparks and/or fire. 4. Round/oval dishes rather than square/oblong ones are recommended, as food in corners tends to overcook. The table below is a general guide to help you select the correct utensils. 12 Automatic cooking For the automatic cooking programmes it is not necessary to set the cooking time and energy level. The microwave oven determines these values automatically depending on the set type of foodstuffs and their weight. In the following table you will find an overview of the possible settings: Automatic cooking programmes 1. Turn the rotary knob gradually in clockwise direction. A programme number appears on the display (e.g. "1" for automatic cooking programme 1). Choose an automatic cooking programme from 1 to Now press the Wei. Adj. key once or several times and select the desired weight/quantity. 3. Press the Start/Quick Start key to start the cooking process. If the dish is not really well done, cook it a few more minutes with microwave energy. Please note: THE SIZE, SHAPE AND TYPE OF FOOD HAVE A DETERMINING INFLUENCE ON THE COOKING RESULT. Programme 1: Milk/Coffee This programme takes place with use of microwave power only. Depending on the set number of portions the programme runs between 1:30 and 3:50 minutes. 1. Put the drink that you want to heat on the turntable in the cooking chamber. If you put more than one receptacle in the microwave oven, take care that the containers do not touch each other. 2. Choose setting 1, 2 or 3 depending on the quantity of the drinks. One unit corresponds to 200 ml. 3. Start the cooking programme for milk/coffee. If the drink(s) is (/are) not hot enough after cooking, start another cooking process with microwave power

13 Programme 2: Rice This programme takes place with use of microwave power only. Depending on the set weight the programme runs between 19 and 28 minutes. 1. Use a high container to cook rice, as there is a danger of overboiling. Take e.g. for 300 g rice about 500 ml water. 2. Put the rice into the receptacle, add the necessary liquid and then soak the rice about 3 minutes. 3. Cover the receptacle and start the cooking programme for rice. If the rice is not yet fully cooked afterwards, start another cooking process with microwave power. Programme 3: Spaghetti (Pasta) 1. Use a high container to cook pasta, as there is a danger of overboiling. Use just as much water as for conventional cooking. 2. Then add the pasta and start the cooking programme for pasta. 3. Let the pasta stand for about 3 minutes afterwards. If the pasta is still too hard after cooking, start another cooking process with microwave power. Programme 4: Potatoes It is recommended to use unpeeled potatoes for cooking. Pierce the potato skins a few times. 1. Put the unpeeled potatoes onto a microwaveable plate or into a microwaveable receptacle. Use potatoes that have as much the same size as possible. If possible, the potatoes should not touch each other. 2. Start the cooking programme for potatoes. If the potatoes are not yet fully cooked afterwards, start another cooking process with microwave power. Programme 5: Auto Reheat Put the plate with the dish that you want to heat up or reheat onto the turntable in the cooking chamber and start the cooking programme to (re)heat. If the dish is not yet hot enough after cooking, start another cooking process with microwave power. Programme 6: Fish This programme takes place with use of microwave power only. Depending on the set weight the programme runs between about 3:00 and 8:20 minutes. Lay the pieces of fish onto a microwaveable plate, add a little grease or butter, season according to needs and taste and start the cooking programme for fish

14 If the fish is not yet fully cooked afterwards, start another cooking process with microwave power. Programme 7: Pizza Lay the pizza onto a microwaveable plate and start the cooking programme for pizza. If the pizza is not yet fully cooked afterwards, start another cooking process with microwave power. Programme 8: Popcorn Put a sachet of special popcorn suitable for microwave ovens onto a microwaveable plate and start the popcorn programme. Attention: it is not possible to make popcorn in the microwave oven with normal corn. MULTI-STAGE COOKING Several cooking stages can be performed one after the other. If one of the stages involves defrosting, this stage has to come first. 1. Set a cooking programme without pressing "Start/Quick Start" at the end of the setting. 2. Press the "Multi Stage Cooking" key. 3. Set a second cooking programme. 4. If you want to set more cooking programmes, repeat steps 2 and 3 and press "Start/Quick Start" only at the end of the last setting. 5. The appliance will be switched on according to the first cooking setting. The time counts down for the first setting. 6. When the first stage has finished, the oven starts according to the second cooking setting. Note: the 8 automatic cooking programmes and the Quick Start programme cannot be set as one of the stages. BEFORE YOU CALL FOR SERVICE If the microwave oven fails to operate: a) Check to ensure that the microwave oven is plugged in securely. If it is not, remove the plug from the outlet, wait 10 seconds and plug it in again securely. b) Check for a blown circuit fuse or a tripped main circuit breaker. If these seem to be operating properly, test the outlet with another appliance. c) Check to ensure that the control panel is programmed correctly and the timer is set. d) Check to ensure that the door is securely closed. Otherwise, the microwave energy will not flow into the oven. IF NONE OF THE ABOVE RECTIFIES THE SITUATION, THEN CONTACT A COMPETENT QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN. DO NOT TRY TO ADJUST OR REPAIR THE OVEN YOURSELF

15 CLEANING AND CARE 1. Turn off the oven and remove the power plug from the wall socket before cleaning. 2. It is very important to clean the oven door, as it is responsible for the impenetrability of the microwave oven. Therefore, make sure it is always clean and make sure no object hinders the door from being properly closed. 3. Keep the inside of the microwave oven clean. When food splatters or spilled liquids adhere to oven walls, wipe with a damp cloth. Mild detergent may be used if the oven gets very dirty. Avoid the use of spray and other harsh cleaners as they may stain, streak or dull the door surface. 4. Clean the waveguide cover on the right side of the oven cavity with a damp cloth, then wipe it with a dry cloth to remove food splashes and grease which may overheat and cause smoke or catch fire. Do not remove the waveguide cover during cleaning. 5. The outside surfaces should be cleaned with a damp cloth. To prevent damage to the operating parts inside the microwave oven, water should not be allowed to seep into the ventilation openings. 6. Do not allow the control panel to become wet. Clean with a soft, damp cloth. When cleaning the control panel, leave the oven door open to prevent the microwave oven from accidentally turning on. 7. If steam accumulates inside or around the outside of the oven door, wipe with a soft cloth. This may occur when the microwave oven is operated under high humidity conditions, this is normal. 8. It is occasionally necessary to remove the glass tray for cleaning. Wash the tray in warm sudsy water or in a dishwasher. 9. The roller ring and oven floor should be cleaned regularly to avoid excessive noise. Simply wipe the bottom surface of the oven with mild detergent. The roller ring may be washed in mild sudsy water or a dishwasher. When removing the roller ring from the cavity floor for cleaning, be sure to replace it in the proper position. 10. Remove odours from your oven by combining a cup of water with the juice and skin of one lemon in a deep microwaveable bowl, microwave for 5 minutes. Wipe thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth. 11. When it becomes necessary to replace the oven light, please consult the customer service to have it replaced. PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT DIRECTIVE 2012/19/EU In order to preserve our environment and protect human health, the waste electrical and electronic equipment should be disposed of in accordance with specific rules with the implication of both suppliers and users.
