1 TLC Homes, Inc Policy Policy No: 1314 Effective: December 1, 2015 Policy Title: Cleaning Products Usage PURPOSE The purpose of this policy is to describe the selection and usage of standard household cleaning products used by all TLC Homes employees within our residential, high acuity and day services locations. This policy is also used in training all employees on the safe usage of all products. POLICY TLC Homes is committed to using the safest, environmentally friendly products whenever possible. The decision to avoid usage of hazardous chemicals has eliminated the requirement for a written hazard communication program according to OSHA regulations. A standardized listing of cleaning products has been established to ensure consistency to this commitment. Each product has been reviewed for safety and any necessary precautions will be implemented prior to the introduction of new products. PROCEDURE I. TLC Homes has provided a list of all products used and their usage directions as part of this policy. This and all other policies are accessible via the policy manual link at each location and from the employee protected portion of our website by using the password packers. This policy and the product listing will be updated as necessary if products are changed. II. III. IV. Employees are provided with training on this policy as part of the Standard Precautions class required of all staff. An acknowledgement of completion is contained in each employee personnel file. The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for the employee training program regarding this policy and will ensure that training is completed for all employees. 2 VII. Employees will not clean ovens in locations that do not have self-cleaning feature so Oven Cleaning products will not be purchased or reflected in our listing of standardized products. VIII. 3 NO WARNINGS SO ANY PRODUCT ACCEPTABLE IN THESE CATEGORIES: 1. Glass Cleaner- Products in this category contained no warnings provided they weren't multi use cleaners. 2. Room Deodorizer (Febreeze)- All Febreeze products are acceptable. Leave for 10 minutes before wiping. Rinse all food contact surfaces with water after use.
