Assemble mop buckets. Fill two rinse mop buckets with clean water. If using an auto scrubber [for rinsing only] fill with clean water. Assemble two mop sticks with clean cotton mop heads. In one bucket dilute 1 gallon of Bare Bones Stripper with 4 gallons of luke warm [not hot] clean water. Assemble one mop stick with a clean rayon mop head for applying Bare Bones Stripper [Note: this mop head must not be used for rinsing or applying finish]. Put up wet floor signs. Clear area of all moveable fixtures. Remove gum, tar and foreign objects with a putty knife/scraper. Dust mop entire area; pick up dust and debris and discard. Assemble low speed floor machine with a black Dominator stripping pad; assemble wet/dry vacuum. Generously apply stripping solution to a section of floor no larger than 25 ft. X 25 ft. Do not allow solution to dry on floor. Agitate stripping solution using the low speed floor machine overlapping each pass by several inches. Work at a slow to medium pace until the entire area is scrubbed; for heavy build up, re-scrub floor in opposite direction. Remove soiled stripper with wet/dry vacuum. After stripping, flood rinse the floor thoroughly; remove water with wet/dry vacuum. If using an auto scrubber equip it with red pads and rinse. With rinse bucket and mop, rinse one last time. When floor is thoroughly dry, check to see that all old stripper has been removed. Spot check by using the palm of your hand to ensure no residue remains. Clean all equipment used during stripping procedure and return to proper storage area[s]. Allow the floor to dry completely before applying floor finish. FLOOR STRIPPER Allow strip solution to penetrate the old floor finish for 5 to 10 minutes. Use an aerosol baseboard stripper on baseboards, edges and corners wherever there is a heavy build up of dirt. Using a swivel brush or scraper clean these areas while stripper is penetrating old finish.
Close off area to be finished. Place Caution-Wet Floor signs at each end of work area. If you are going to be finishing an area that touches another that will not be, apply a strip of wide masking tape across the end of the area that is to be protected. Cover all areas of floor with 24/7. Allow each coat to dry thoroughly. Normal drying time is 30 to 45 minutes per coat. Apply 4 coats in classrooms and 5 coats in halls/high traffic areas. Do not apply more than 4 coats in a 24 hour period. Place a plastic trash can liner inside of the mop bucket. Tie the bag tightly around the bucket and install a well cleaned wringer. Assemble a clean rayon finish mop on a mop stick and place in bucket. Gently pour in only the needed amount of 24/7 Floor Sealer / Finish. Never pour unused 24/7 Floor Sealer/Finish back into the original container. Never apply more than 2 coats against the baseboards. It s recommended that you do the second and last coat against the baseboards. Never spray buff between coats. Wait 48 to 72 hours before using any high speed equipment on a fully cured floor. Pull the soaked mop out and place in wringer. Tamp out excess 24/7 by twisting mop while applying pressure. Tamp until the mop head no longer drips. This will give you the proper amount to provide a medium coat of finish. Thoroughly clean all equipment before returning to proper storage area[s]. Rinse out finish mop head and hang up to dry; when totally dry store in a clean plastic bag. Dispose of used trash can liners and other trash. Outline edges of first section keeping the mop head away from baseboards, walls and doors. Apply the first coat using a side-ways figure 8 motion and stay 6 to 8 inches away from baseboards. Normally you can cover six feet per side of mop before having to go back to the bucket for more 24/7. If applying 24/7 in a large area apply in sections and keep a wet leading edge. FLOOR FINISH Extended Performance
Dust mop entire floor in classrooms, halls and other areas on a daily basis. In classrooms work from farthest wall towards the door. In halls work from the farthest wall towards end of aisles. Pick up trash as you dust mop. Never pick up a mop from the floor until you reach the end of the area being mopped. Remove any gum or sticky material using a putty knife/scraper. Be careful not to gouge the floor In classrooms place Caution Wet Floor signs at doors; in open areas place at ends of areas to be cleaned. Vacuum, clean or replace entry mats. If the floor is to be damp mopped at this point remove mats from the floor. Remember to replace mats when floor is dry. Remove any other obstructions like trash cans, etc. Assemble a mop stick with a clean cotton mop head. Put 2 gallons of cool water in mop bucket and using a measuring cup, add 2 ounces of Enhance Neutral Cleaner. Never use hot water. Follow this same procedure if hand mopping hallways and common areas. If using an auto scrubber, use 1 ounce of Enhance Neutral Cleaner per gallon mix with cool water. Equip auto scrubber with red pads. When hand mopping always use a clean mop. Use a sideways figure 8 motion to ensure even coverage. Wring out mop before taking it out of the wringer. Change water when it becomes dirty. Using dirty water only spreads the dirt. Hallways and common areas should me damp mopped [or auto scrubbed] on a daily basis. Classrooms are to damp mopped at least once a week. Clean and return equipment to proper storage area[s]. Replace entrance mats and any other fixtures moved during cleaning process. Neutral Cleaner
Make sure that the floor has been thoroughly cleaned using Enhance Neutral Cleaner following the steps 1 to 6 under Routine Maintenance. Once a week, restore the hallways and common areas with Vivid Finish Maintainer. Assemble a mop stick with a clean cotton mop head. Use a measuring cup to mix 1 qt. [32 oz] of Vivid with each gallon of cool water in a clean mop bucket. Mop on to the floor using a sideways figure 8 motion. If using an auto scrubber mix Vivid at 8 oz per gallon of water and equip machine with red pads. When floor is dry burnish with a high speed floor machine [1500+ rpm corded, battery or propane] using a Morrisette beige hair pad. Once a month in classrooms use the method described in Step 2 or pour undiluted product in a spray bottle. Using a low speed floor machine equipped with a red pad or a high speed floor machine equipped with a Morrisette beige hair pad, lightly mist the floor and buff immediately. Turn over or change pad often. After burnishing or spray buffing dust mop the floor. Replace entry mats and other fixtures moved. Clean equipment and return to proper storage area[s]. SPRAY BUFF/ RESTORER VIVID Interactive Laminator & Maintainer
Remove gum and other sticky material with a putty knife/scraper. Dust mop entire floor, remove dust and debris. Put up Caution Wet Floor signs at classroom doors and each end of work area in halls and other open spaces. For classrooms and other hand mopped areas assemble a mop stick with a clean rayon mop. Use a measuring cup to dilute 8 oz of Enhance Neutral Cleaner with each gallon of warm water. Apply a liberal amount to an area about 25 ft. X 25 ft. and allow to dwell for 5 to 10 minutes; detail edges with a swivel brush and a green scrub pad. Install a green pad on a Low Speed Floor Machine, scrub entire floor. Pick up dirty scrub solution using a wet/dry vacuum. Rinse using clean water and a clean cotton mop head. If using an auto scrubber fill solution tank with a mixture of warm water mixed with 8 oz of Enhance Neutral Cleaner per gallon. Install green scrub pads. On first pass scrub floor with squeegee up; on second pass lower squeegee and pick up dirty solution. Rinse with clean water afterwards. When floor is thoroughly dry apply 2 coats of 24/7 according to instructions outlined in ing section. Hallways and common areas are to be scrubbed and recoated during each Winter Break and Summer Recess. Classrooms are to be scrubbed and recoated during each Summer Recess. Clean all equipment and return to proper storage area[s]. SCRUB & RECOAT PRODUCTS Extended Performance
