CARBON NEUTRAL Wood pellets are a carbon neutral, renewable biomass energy fuel. The CO2 released when burning wood is re-absorbed by the amount of new trees that are planted. COST EFFECTIVE Wood pellet boiler equipment is cost effective to both install and operate and has significantly lower maintenance and capital expenditure costs compared to wood chip boilers. Wood pellets are manufactured from a widely available feedstock typically resulting in less price volatility than fossil fuels. WELL ESTABLISHED Wood pellets are not a new technology. The use of wood pellets for domestic and commercial use has been well established in Europe for the last 25 years. QUALITY The Warmflow biomass boiler has been designed to run on ENplusA1 pellets only, the highest kitemark of quality in the industry. The ENplus quality certification replaces numerous national standards and certifications with one uniform system based on the EN standard for wood pellets. The ENplus standard covers the whole chain for wood pellets - from production to delivery ensuring high quality as well as transparency. All ENplus A1 pellets are derived from 100% virgin wood fibre with no additives ensuring that not only do the wood pellets burn beautifully, but also that the process is exceptionally clean giving low emissions and trouble-free heating with high energy value. Using non ENplusA1 pellets will invalidate your warranty, reduce efficiency and increase cleaning and servicing frequency. PROCESSING Pellets are made from wood chips and sawdust that are pressed and dried. CHEAPEST FORM OF HOME HEATING Ground Source is 30-50% cheaper than oil and gas and has a high efficiency of 508%. A heatpump can keep your home at a constant ambient temperature 24/7 for less than the cost of running with fossil fuels due to lower flow temperatures LOW MAINTENANCE A yearly system check is recommended by your installer or qualified person. This will involve cleaning filters and checking system pressures to ensure the optimum performance of your heatpump ONE ENERGY BILL Just one electric bill for the whole dwelling, which includes the lighting, appliances, heating and hot water ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY No harmful emissions to the environment unlike the traditional fossil fuel boilers WELL ESTABLISHED Heatpumps have been in existence around the world since the 1940 s, and have been introduced to the UK market in the last 10 years 60 DEGREE HOT WATER IS ACHIEVABLE There is a myth that heatpumps will not meet the hot water temperature requirements of the home, however if our heatpump is installed with the Warmflow heatpump cylinder, 60 degrees is achievable QUIET OPERATION When running, the heatpump has a sound operation of 55dba at 1metre GOVERNMENT GRANT QUALIFYING In GB and NI, Ground Source heatpumps are heavily grant aided which includes a one off payment against the cost to install, and a yearly payment for 7 years to help with running costs Ground source heat pumps explained A ground source heat pump system harnesses natural heat energy stored in the ground by pumping brine through it. The heat pump then increases the temperature, and the heat is used to provide home heating or hot water. 17

10 Ground Source Ground Source Range 2 3 A new name in efficiency... 4 From the outset of designing our heat pump it was conceived to be one of the most efficient appliances in its class. Independent tests have shown its efficiency to be 508% at B0W35. This means that for every 1kW of electricity consumed 5.08kW of heat are produced. Under the new energy efficiency labelling the Warmflow Ground source heat pump will have a Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCoP) of A+++ Key Points How do we get such a high efficiency? Unlike most other heat pumps which produce heat at a fixed output, our heat pump makes use of the latest variable speed compressor technology to produce heat at the rate you need. This gives the heat pump a wide output range and it automatically modulates within this range depending on your heat demands. To optimise the efficiency of the appliance it is equipped with the latest EC motor variable speed circulating pumps, which matches it s speed to the hydraulic resistance and the heat demand of the system and extraction rate of the ground loop. The 360º absorber surface in each Warmflow Solar vacuum tube maximises the use of the sun s energy by catching the sun s rays from a wide angle as it passes from east to west during the day. The vacuum chamber between the inner and outer layers of glass minimises heat loss in a similar way to a thermos flask, meaning as much of the sun s energy as possible ends up where you want it - in your hot water. Because the losses are minimised, a Warmflow Solar vacuum tube system is capable of contributing significantly to the energy required for hot water production even during the winter, as long as the sun is shining. The Way The Heat Pipe Works The sun s energy is captured by a 360 o sputtered coating then absorbed into the heat pipe in the centre of the tube where it boils a heat transfer fluid. The vapour produced travels to the top of the heat pipe where the heat is transferred into the collector manifold. The cooled vapour then condenses and trickles to the bottom of the heat pipe to repeat the process. 23

13 Solar Range Controls & Accessories Solar Range Vacuum Tube Collectors Installation Benefits The Warmflow Solar vacuum tube manifold has the pipework connections off-the-top, rather than off-theside, meaning multiple collectors can be positioned as close together as possible, maximising the use of available south-facing roof area. Because the Warmflow Solar vacuum tube kit is assembled on the roof each item can be lifted one at a time, so no heavy lifting is required. All this work can therefore be done cold, minimising the risk of burns. In a new build, if the property might not be occupied for some time, the tubes can be stored safely off site and fitted later. Our Solar collectors are tested to the rigorous EN standard and hold European Solar Keymark approval - a testament to their quality and performance - making Warmflow Solar eligible for grant funding when installed by a registered installer (SFS1) Solar Filling Station In order to effectively remove all air from the system it must be filled using a filling station. The SFS1 from Warmflow Solar (pictured below) is the ideal solution. Measuring 39 x 32 x 78cm and weighing only 15kg, the unit has a fluid capacity of 25 litres and can deliver a maximum flow rate of 27 litres/min. The maximum pressure, for leak testing is 5 bar. The unit has a brass impeller for corrosion resistance and long life. 25

Preset parameters provide frost and overheat protection, an anti-legionella function and a cylinder cooling function to help protect both the panel and cylinder. There are additional input/output channels to control other system components, such as a secondary pumped return circuit. By controlling the hot water pump (not supplied) via an additional pipe sensor (optional), the Warmflow Solar controller minimizes electrical power consumption and heat losses by only running the pump when required. This compares to a wasteful traditional system which runs the pump continuously whenever the time clock calls for hot water. It also helps maintain system performance by continuously separating air from the Solar fluid when in operation. Warmflow Green Solar Fluid Warmflow Green Solar Fluid is blended with hightech inhibitors, especially designed for solar heating systems to provide effective corrosion and antifreeze protection and to maintain thermal efficiency. It is formulated to change colour from green to brown to alert the service engineer when the fluid needs to be replaced. Both cylinders in our range are twin-coil, so can be connected to a boiler for back-up. They are manufactured from high grade corrosion-resistant Duplex stainless steel and are unvented, meaning they operate at mains water pressure so can provide very high hot water flow rates - essential for an invigorating showering experience, or for fastfilling baths. Warmflow solar cylinders are highly insulated with 50mm of CFC/HCFC-free, zero ozonedepletion (ODP), fire-retardant insulation and are equipped with high heat transfer exchanger coils, meaning that they capture and store the sun s energy as efficiently as possible as well as allowing the boiler to operate at peak efficiently and for as short a time as possible when used as a back-up heat source. 2 Extension kits are available: (SHPX20) 20-tube extension kit (SHPX30) 30-tube extension kit Each extension kit comprises: - Heat pipe manifold and vacuum tubes - Tiled roof mounting system - Manifold connector * Depending on system volume, additional solar fluid and/or expansion vessels may be required. 27
