Polo is an impressive 1 metre high stove with a square design, featuring a large glass viewing window and an authentic log fire display with high, realistic flames. There is a choice of interior finishes in black or mirrored Ceraglass and Polo has a heat output of 4.1 kw, making it suitable for a variety of rooms around the home. 7 DRU REPORTS GREAT SUCCESS AT ISH FRANKFURT, MARCH 2017 DRU Fires has exhibited at ISH Frankfurt, Germany for the third time in March iconic gas fires and stoves over the years and new innovations such as the PowerVent extended flue system for gas fires, enabling them to be installed in previously inaccessible locations. According to DRU export manager Martijn Pieterse, exhibiting at ISH was a great success, with a large take-up of new product sales, distribution applications and technical enquiries. ISH claims to be the world s leading trade fair for building services, heating, air conditioning and renewable energies. DRU displayed some of its latest contemporary gas fires. This included the DRU Maestro, a series of smart gas fires in standard, 2-sided and 3-sided versions with Dynamic Burners for a more realistic flame effect, Clear View glass for clearer view of the fire bed and Eco Wave, a smartphone or tablet app for control of the flames, gas consumption and many other settings. The purpose of visiting ISH was to bring the DRU and Dik Geurts brands to the attention of a wider audience across the whole of Europe and beyond. This included building services engineers, architects, interior designers, builders and consumers. Also featured were the new DRU Polo, Lugo Module and Dik Geurts Odin wood stove. 8 DRU ON A MISSION TO BRING SPARTHERM TO ALL CORNERS OF THE UK. Spartherm Premium Varia 2-sided wood fire insert In 2016, DRU merged with leading German wood stove company Spartherm to form one of the world s largest fireplace companies. DRU is now rolling out the full range and seeking suitable dealers and installers all around the country. As DRU UK general manager Niall Deiraniya explains: We believe that Spartherm brings something different to the UK stove market, representing a major opportunity for fireplace retailers, architects and builders. Water heating stoves and beyond Spartherm has been at the forefront of high-capacity, water heating stoves for many years and offers a range of built-in and freestanding models that can be connected to a water storage tank or a wet system. Most Spartherm stoves have the option of an outer chamber with ducting ports in order to pipe warm air around the home. This reduces the need for other sources of home heating and increases a property s energy efficiency rating. Spartherm were one of the first manufacturers to introduce ultra-modern freestanding stoves. This is represented by its Selection range, which has been launched in the UK. Selection stoves have unconventional designs, come in a huge range of sizes, shapes and colour finishes and appeal to the more sophisticated urban consumer. Spartherm has developed contemporary versions of classic German products and now has a range totally nearly 100 models. 8 Spartherm built-in stoves include; inserts with guillotine glass doors and cassettes that have a fixed glass front. The vertically sliding doors disappear into the chimneybreast or wall space to allow for replenishment of the logs, cleaning and maintenance of the fire. 10 DRU TAKES PART IN POPULAR BBC TV SHOW TO HELP FAMILY IN DISTRESS Nick Knowles and the Purple Shirts DRU UK and Stratford-on-Avon fireplace dealer Evonic Fires have taken part in a primetime TV home renovation show, which relies on the support of suppliers and the community to help families with urgent needs. At 13, everything changed overnight. After what seemed to be a gastro-illness, Chloe struggled to eat and drink without constant sickness. She had dizzy spells, allergic reactions to almost anything she consumed - and was living in chronic pain. The team also adapted the family home so that they could enjoy family life and be able to cook and eat together. Part of the scheme was the installation of the Britta stove, suspended in the corner of the open plan living, kitchen and dining space. DIY SOS: The Big Build is the BBC s flagship home renovation show and attracts up to 9 million viewers. Presented by Nick Knowles and his team of Purple Shirts, the show takes on really ambitious builds in just nine days. In the latest episode, which was shown on March 22, 2017, DRU and Evonic Fires installed a Dik Geurts Britta stove as part of a project to help a family in Bidford-on- Avon, Warwickshire, UK. Suze and Phil are parents to Joshua (13) and Chloe (21). Chloe has Aspergers and Mastocytosis a disorder of the body s mast cells, as well as other debilitating conditions. Growing up with Asperger s wasn t easy but Chloe was still in many ways, a typical teenager. To make matters worse the stress led to mum Suze suffering a breakdown, as she tried to come to terms with her daughter s unknown future. Chloe was confined to a hospital bed in the family dining room - unable to walk or look after herself. Her many conditions are severely debilitating and she is fed through a Hickman line above her heart. Guest designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, of Changing Rooms fame, worked on a plan to extend the home into the garage and create a purpose-built independent space for Chloe to be cared for, with a wetroom, bedroom and dedicated medical support area. According to DRU UK general manager Niall Deiraniya and Andy Cox of Evonic Fires, it was a privilege to help with a very worthy cause and a great experience for the installation team to work on such a high profile project. As Niall says, When we were approached by the BBC, we had just two days to manufacture the stove and deliver it to site from the Netherlands - a real challenge!
