5 Hi, there. Here s an interesting fact. A gap along a door jamb is about the same as having a hole to the outside in your wall. Insulating and sealing your home will help lower costs all year long. Insulation If you heat with electricity, you may qualify for a rebate to update insulation in your home. Qualify for 20 percent of the installation cost, up to $1,400, when you work with a contractor and meet R-level requirements. Does not apply to new construction. $500 rebate for attic bypass sealing and insulation. $500 rebate for upgrading wall insulation. $400 rebate for air sealing and weather stripping.

6 Hey! It s me. I m an old fridge that s wasting a lot of energy. It s time to earn $50 for a little recycling. Appliance recycling Get $50 plus four LED bulbs. Schedule your pickup today. Call Recycle up to two refrigerators or freezers per year. Units must be in working condition. Units must be sized between 10 and 27 cubic feet.

7 Heat storage systems A heat storage system may: Qualify for a lower rate. Reduce heating costs. Qualify for rebates. Install a minimum of 9 kilowatts of heat storage to qualify for a rebate of $40 per kilowatt when installed on our Dual Fuel, Deferred Load, or Residential Demand Control rates. Electronically commutated motors An electronically commutated motor ECM for short adjusts air flow and cuts the energy your furnace fan consumes by 75 percent. An ECM: Makes a furnace air handling system quieter. Reduces temperature fluctuation. Reduces the drying effect of winter heating. Install an ECM with your new heating system regardless the fuel type it uses and get a $100 rebate. An ECM that s integrated into a heating system will not qualify for a rebate. Water heaters Ready to update your water heater? Install an electric water heater that s at least 90 percent efficient on an off-peak rate to qualify for a rebate of $150 to $400. I s pose I should tell you about heat storage. I store heat. Pretty straightforward. I m an underfloor unit. You can find other kinds too. We all store heat until you need it.

8 CoolSavings Enroll in CoolSavings air-conditioning (AC) cycling and save $33 on summer cooling costs. We ll apply an $8.25 credit to your bills June through September. Central AC or heat pumps may qualify. Units must be served on a residential service or residential demand control meter to be eligible. System must include an outside disconnect switch.

Cold-climate heat pumps Designed for our weather, cold-climate heat pumps (CCHPs) operate with 200 percent efficiency at 0 F and up to 400 percent efficiency in warmer temps. A CCHP may qualify for a rebate of $500 per ton when it s: Rated with a heating season performance factor (HSPF) of 10 or greater and served on a qualified off-peak rate, or Meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR ratings: 15 or greater seasonal energy efficiency rating (SEER), 12.5 or greater energy efficiency ratio (EER), and 10 or greater HSPF. Special rules apply for homes heated with natural gas. Receive a $400 per ton rebate on an Energy Star qualified air-source heat pump or one with a 15 or greater SEER, 12.5 EER, and 8.5 HSPF. Receive an $800 per ton rebate on an Energy Star qualified geothermal heat pump or one with a qualified COP rating.
