The following features make your Boyd product the most advanced and func onal product available in the market: 3 Way Syringe Dry hand piece hook up Wet hand piece hook up High Volume Evacua on (HVE) Saliva ejec on (SE) PSI indicator Fully retractable system (370 & 3351) Intended Use and Application of Product Warranty Statement All Boyd manufactured products are warranted against defects in material or workmanship only. No other warran es are expressed or implied. This warranty shall extend for three (3) years for parts and one (1) year for labor. The Boyd warranty only covers products manufactured by Boyd. Products distributed, not manufactured, by Boyd carry the stated manufacturer s warranty. The warranty period commences upon invoice date of the equipment. Wri en no ce of breach must be submi ed to Boyd Industries, Inc. within this period. Boyd reserves the right to repair or replace, at its sole discre on, the item in ques on. Warranty is voided if items are misused or product is improperly maintained or installed. The warranty does not cover any altera on of the product from its original condi on or if product is used in any way other than the product s design intent. An authorized service technician must perform all service and maintenance. Any warranty labor must be first approved by Boyd. Failure to coordinate warranty service may result in denial of warranty repair. Wri en log and receipts for service must be maintained to validate the warranty on Boyd manufactured products. No claim for consequen al damages will be allowed. Freight damage or mishandling by any third party will not be considered a warranty item. Improper installa on by a third party causing damage to the equipment is not a warranty item. 3
4 About Your Product Air and Water Controls and Adjustments All controls are located on the front of the cabinet. Flow adjustment to the hand pieces and the syringe are inside the cabinet (351, 356, 362, 370, 3351). Flow adjustment for chair mount units is inside the control enclosure (320). Water Coolant Flow Control Allows adjustment of water coolant to hand piece. Turn knob counter clock wise to increase flow, clock wise to decrease flow. Water coolant On/Off Ac vates hand piece water coolant system. Flip toggle upwards ON for water coolant. Drive Air Pressure Gauge Indicates the amount of air pressure to each hand piece. This allows the air pressure to be adjusted to manufacturer s recommenda ons. Hand piece Ac va on Automa c system: Removing the hand piece from its holder will automa cally ac vate it. Foot Control Control is used to regulate the drive air to the hand pieces. Apply pressure to the top of the foot control to operate. Syringe air and water adjustment screws Hand piece air adjustment screws Drive Air Adjustment Blocks The Blocks allow individual adjustment of air/water pressure to specific hand piece or syringe needs. It is located inside the cabinet (351, 356, 362, 370, 3351) or inside the control enclosure (320). Syringe Controls (3 way) There are two (2) bu ons on the top of the syringe. 1 Bu on marked with will ac vate water flow. 2 Bu on marked with will ac vate air flow. 3 Pressing both bu ons + at the same me will produce a mist. 5 About Your Product (Con nued) Bo led Water System Self contained Water System (SWS) The SWS controlled dispensing system may be used for an sep c coolant or bo led water. It may be used with hand piece controls and syringes as well. This system is used in place of city water. Air regulated to 30 psi is supplied to the bo le. The air pressure forces water into the water pick up tube and out into the exis ng system. When removing the bo le, first turn off the On/Off switch which allows the air pressure to escape. Mini air pressure regulator Interconnect tubing Moun ng hardware On/Off switch for bo le pressure Air flush valve NOTE: If bo le has a crease or dent, it should be replaced immediately. Water Line Maintenance (SWS) Daily Care Use the Air Flush feature to force water out of the syringe and hand piece. Syringe 1 Turn Flush valve to On posi on. 2 Press the water bu on on the syringe un l air comes out instead of water. Hand piece 1 Press the foot control for the wet hand piece un l air comes out instead of water. 2 Catch the water in a basin, sink or container while flushing the lines. Note: Be sure to turn Flush valve Off before using system. Weekly Care 1 Add disinfec ng agent according to manufacturer s recommenda ons to a clean water bo le. Completely fill the bo le and reinstall it on the unit. 2 Press the water bu on on the syringe and drain solu on into a bucket, basin or sink for dura on indicated by manufacturer of solu on. 3 Operate the wet hand piece and drain solu on into a bucket, basin or sink for dura on indicated by manufacturer of solu on. 4 Remove the bo le of disinfectant solu on and install a new bo le with clean sterile water. 5 Operate the flush system to remove all solu on out of the syringe and wet hand piece. 6 Operate the syringe water and wet hand piece for at least 30 seconds to insure that all solu on is removed from the system. 5
6 About Your Product (Con nued) 370 & 3351 Retrac on System 370 Boyd EZ TRACT Retrac on System: Delivery system operates the same as all other models with the excep on of a hose retrac on feature. Opera on: 1 Pull the desired hose all the way out (fully extended). It will stay in that posi on when released. 2 Pull slightly on the hose a second me and it will release and retract back into the cabinet. Cau on: The hand piece will automa cally be ac vated when it is removed from its holder. The HVE and SE valves are used to access the a ached hose. Use the hose to fully extend the HVE and SE line. The HVE and Saliva Ejector valves can pull loose from the hose and are not to be used for full extension. The standard extended hose length is 40 inches. Roller Access (370) Maintenance: Refer to Bo led Water System for maintenance informa on. There is a rear door on the retrac on box that is removable to allow cleaning and disinfec ng. Access to this aluminum door is gained by opening the rear door on the cabinet. There is a screw securing this door in place for shipping. Remove and discard this screw upon arrival. Li it up and then out to remove the aluminum door. 370: The top of the cabinet can be removed for cleaning and maintenance. Use cau on when removing the top to avoid chipping, damaging the laminate or displacing guide blocks. Remove this top cover to clean rollers : Pull out the Hose Box and remove cover to have access to rollers for cleaning. This feature can also be used to posi on the delivery system closer to the pa ent. Cau on: Follow infec on control procedures. Do not use the countertop when li ing or moving the cabinet. Electrical System: There is an electrical junc on box located inside the cabinet behind the drawers. Access to the box is through a door on the right side of the cabinet. It contains a 10A circuit breakers switch for 115V systems and 7A for 230V systems. This switch is illuminated when it is on and not tripped. Turn the switch off and then back on to reset if it should trip. Solids Collector, water filter and Bo led Water Bo le are behind this door. Hospital grade GFCI Outlet: 115V 10A or 230V 7A Rear access door Circuit Breaker Switch and Outlet inside Cabinet Li and remove Aluminum Door for cleaning access. 6
7 About Your Product (Con nued) Drawer Removal/Installa on and Adjustment Drawer Removal: 1 Pull drawer all the way out. 2 Press and hold release levers (2) on bo om front of drawer and li drawer upward in front un l it is free from slider. 3 Discon nue holding release levers. 4 Pull drawer off back tabs of slider. Drawer Opened Release Levers Li and Remove Drawer Installa on: 1 Pull sliders (2) all the way out. 2 Place drawer loosely on slider. 3 Insert tabs on slider (2) into holes (2) on back wall of drawer and front locks should snap into posi on. 4 Close drawer Slider Tab Loca on Hole Loca on Adjustment Height: Adjust the height of the drawer face by sliding the red tab located under the drawer in the release lever assembly. Push the tab toward the rear of the drawer to raise the drawer face and toward the front of the drawer to lower drawer face. Red Adjustment Tab 7

10 Unpacking and Power Requirements Unpacking Preassembly Check: Unpacking CSU: Cau on: Open shipping cartons carefully and check to see that all parts are received and have not been damaged during shipping. Slide CSU from pallet to proper moving equipment and secure to move to final installa on loca on. Take care using any sharp objects or tools to avoid damage to your product. CSU should be li ed from below main body (Toe kick or caster area). Do not at any me move unit by li ing from countertop edge. Use proper li ing techniques to avoid injury. (Note: Accessories may be packaged separately) Power Requirements Check CSU iden fica on label located inside the cabinet door for required voltage specifica ons. Connect CSU to hospital grade receptacle only. Warning: To avoid risk of electric shock, this equipment must only be connected to a supply main with protec ve earth ground. 115 VAC ~ 60 Hz 10 Amp Or 230 VAC ~ 50 60Hz 7 Amp Cau on: Do not plug external devices or equipment into the Mul Socket GFI Outlet other than Boyd provided computer equipment for assembly and moun ng onto the delivery unit. Our Mul Socket GFI Outlet is a low amperage circuit not designed to handle heavy loads. 10
11 It is recommended that this equipment be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in accordance with the appropriate FDA guidelines. Use approved cleaners and disinfectants. Solids Collector: General Maintenance and Care Cleaning Replace the solid collector screen as required to help avoid contact with hazardous material, reduce possible infec on and contamina on and improve performance of the suc on system. Screen Replacement: 1. Turn the vacuum OFF. 2. Put on gloves. 3. Remove the top cover of the canister. 4. Remove screen and install new one. 5. Reinstall the top cover to the canister. SE / HVE: Hand pieces: Hoses: Draw clean water through the instruments and work the valves open and closed several mes to free debris a er each pa ent. Clean with brushes provided using recommended cleaners and sani zers daily. Ultrasonic cleaning of vacuum valves is not recommended. Consult hand piece manufacturer for cleaning informa on. All handpieces employ a non retrac ng water feature. Hoses should be cleaned and sani zed between pa ents as infec on control policy dictates. Air / Water Pressure: Air: 80 psi City Water: 40 psi Bo led Water: 35 psi (non adjustable) See About Your Product sec on for adjustment loca ons. Air Flush System: Cau on: Wet hand piece and syringe lines should be air flushed on a daily basis. Flushing: 1. Turn on Flush switch on control panel 2. Press Footswitch to clear all water from the High Speed Hand piece 3. Press Water bu on on the syringe to clear all water from it. 4. Turn off Flush switch upon comple ng procedure. It is not recommended that the use of cleaning or disinfec ng agents be used in the water system. This may affect the performance or cause damage to the system. Boyd Industries, Inc. does not cover damage of equipment due to this prac ce. All established infection control policies should be followed. Infec on Control Hand pieces and metal syringe tips must be autoclaved between patients. Check manufacturer information for details. (270 20psi for 30 minutes) SE, HVE, Tubing, Keyboards and work surfaces must be cleaned and disinfected between patients and at the end of each day. Use a product that is EPA registered as hospital disinfectant and labeled for tuberculocidal activity. Two (2) such products are: Tri cide (800) Medocadcio (800) Do not attempt to clean and re use disposable tips that are designed for one (1) patient use only. 11

Check that the cabinet master switch is ON. Check for a kinked line in the system. Components to check: Air compressor. Main system ON/OFF switch Regulator Cabinet main switch Solenoid (A ached to regulator) No Water Check water regulator for indica on of building water supply. (Except clean water systems) Check that bo le pressure switch is ON. (Clean water system only) Check that the clean water bo le is not empty. (Clean water system only) Check that Flush func on switch is in OFF posi on. Check for kinked lines. Components to check: Water regulator. (Except clean water system) Water solenoid. (Except clean water system) Water bo le. (Clean water system only) Flow control block. Air in Building Water Supply Can be caused by a defec ve check valve in the flush system. Components to check: Check valves. (Flush system has two check valves) No Vacuum Only One Hand Piece Works No Water from the High Speed Hand Piece Flush System Does Not Work No Water a er using the Flush Func on Check that the vacuum is on and func oning. Check that HVE and Saliva Ejectors are not open and draining the system. Check the system for leaks. Check that the vacuum supply hose to the cabinet has not come loose. Check that no hoses are kinked at areas where they bend to come out of the cabinet. Check that the hanger valve is opera ng. Check for kinked hoses to the hanger valve. Check that the water ON/OFF switch is in the ON posi on. Check that the water flow knob is turned on. Check that no lines are kinked. Adjust the flow control block if necessary. Check that the Flush switch is turned on. Defec ve check valve. Ball in check valve stuck. 13
14 Syringe Leaks: Trouble Shooting & Repair Guide (continued) Leakage around the bu on Replace the bu on (3085). To remove the bu on, press the retaining pin (9648) out, then use a dime to gently pry the bu on out of the head. When re installing the bu on, be sure the spring (9670) is properly seated over the p of the valve core. Re install the retaining pin. Leakage from the syringe p Replace the p adaptor. Insert a 5/32 hex wrench into the adaptor (3065) and unscrew it from the head. Align the slot in the adaptor with the alignment pin (9659) when reinstalling the adaptor. Water leaking from handle Loose hose where it connects to the head (0084). Cau on: Turn main air and water pressure OFF before servicing syringe. 14
