2 LUMii is a range of quality lighting products for growing plants. The range has been designed by growers, for growers and is packed with unique features to make your life easier and at the same time allow your crops to flourish. MAGNETIC BALLASTS Don t be fooled Other magnetic ballasts on the market claim that they are 400 watt or 600 watt, but when tested, they produce less power. This is because some brands cut costs by using inferior components or by reducing the amount of copper in the windings resulting in less power, less light output and smaller yields. When using LUMii ballasts, you can be rest assured that the power stated is what you will get, no corners cut just optimum growing results. LUMii Dual Core 400/600 watt switchable vented ballasts If you want flexibility then choose the LUMii Dual Core Ballast, offering dual power levels of 600 watt down to 400 watt. Built to the same standards as the LUMii 400 watt and the LUMii 600 watt ballasts, it gives you two ballasts in one. Always use the correct wattage of lamp to the power selected. We recommend a 400 watt lamp running at 400 watt, as this will offer better spectral output than a 600 watt lamp at reduced power. LUMii Compacta Tima ballast range The first magnetic power pack with built in digital timer. It has 3 settings; a vegetative growth setting (18 hours on, 6 hours off), a flower setting (12 hours on, 12 hours off) and permanently on, which bypasses the timer. All Compacta units have digital ignition that is timed and intelligently monitors your lamp. It will not ignite old lamps that have a danger of overloading. LUMii Compacta Potted Ballast Range The new LUMii Compacta, available in both 400 watt and 600 watt, has the same great component quality and high output that you would expect from a LUMii professional horticultural lighting product, with the added benefit of a fully enclosed and potted case, offering IP34. As with all LUMii ballasts, you are able to get the true spectral output that your plants need. 3 ELECTRONIC BALLASTS The New LUMii DIGITA ECO Ballast is a fully electronic ballast. There are two dual wattage options available, 250/400 watt and 400/600 watt. This technology is micro-processor controlled and works at higher frequency (hertz) than the standard magnetic ballast meaning more light gets to your plant. It is also more efficient meaning more output per watt of energy consumed. So why should I choose a LUMii DIGITA ECO Ballast instead of a standard magnetic ballast? More light output per watt of energy consumed With the new LUMii DIGITA ECO Ballast, less wattage is lost in the transmission of power from the wall socket to the lamp. Better power management means more light to the plant and less energy consumed. The quality of the light produced is also a lot more stable thanks to LUMii s power management software built into the unit that monitors for lamp degradation and power fluctuation from the grid, this produces a higher hertz rate and optimum light levels. The lamp is very quick to ignite, using less power at the ignition stage and giving your plants a full spectrum light source within 5 minutes (magnetic ballast technology takes up to 20 minutes for the lamp to come up to full brightness). Ultra quiet The LUMii DIGITA ECO Ballast is one of the quietest ballasts on the market with no hum or vibration (this is common with magnetic or fan cooled electronic technology). Ultra compact and cooler operation The LUMii DIGITA ECO Ballast is one of the smallest and coolest running available, this has been achieved by creating a component set that does not generate a lot of heat. Less heat and a well-designed body shell means you can have less airspace inside the body, which allows the design to be smaller. In addition, less heat means more efficient use of power and better environmental control. Ultra lightweight The LUMii DIGITA ECO Ballast is very lightweight, the 600 watt is only 3kg compared with 8kg for a 600 watt magnetic ballast. Safe operation AVAILABLE IN 250/400 WATT & 400/600 WATT The LUMii DIGITA ECO Ballast has safety features built in that protects the units circuitry, if a short is detected. When the ballast detects an abnormal input or output voltage, due to an old or damaged lamp it will not attempt to ignite the bulb. The DIGITA ECO Ballast is resin covered on the inside, helping to protect from dust ingress to the components and creating even heat distribution, meaning there is no need for a fan. This means the product is more robust and has increased longevity over fan based ballasts. Be a control freak The LUMii DIGITA ECO Ballast is dimmable and also has a BOOST setting for each lamp size, meaning you can take control of the light output. Harden off young plants with the dimmer turned right down. This lower watt output at the start allows you to increase light levels gradually as your plants develop, minimising stress and excessive heat. You can also control the footprint of light as your plants grow, as a 600 watt lamp will give off a wider footprint of light than a 400 watt lamp. As your plants grow, turn up to 600 watt. Always use the correct wattage of lamp to the power selected. We recommend a 400 watt lamp running at 400 watt, as this will offer better spectral output than a 600 watt lamp at reduced power. In the top BOOST mode, you will get a further 10% lumen output from your lamp, which is ideal for enhancing the last phase of flowering or fruiting or to force a growth stage. Play with the light. Some studies have shown that actually dimming the light levels back down to 400 watt in the last week of fruiting, can increase crop quality and yield. DIMMABLE OUTPUT 400 WATT Excessive heat in the growroom can be removed quickly by turning down the lamp wattage without breaking your plant s light cycles. Turning the power setting on your ballast and changing the bulb from 600 watt to 400 watt will decrease the overall heat output by 30-40%, helping you to maintain a stable growing environment. As well as the obvious crop benefits, this controllability will save you a considerable amount of money on your power bills over the length of a crop cycle. Please note: we do not recommend that you use the BOOST settings for Metal Halide lamps. 600 WATT

5 LUMii MAXii LUMii MAXii Reflector The LUMii MAXii is a simple and easy-to-use Dutch barn style reflector. It is an open-ended, highly polished and dimpled lightweight reflector, which gives an efficient and even distribution of light. Accepts both HPS and CFL Unlike others on the market, the LUMii MAXii includes a unique lamp holder that is adjustable and designed to fit all E40 lamp types. All earth requirements are incorporated into the lamp holder itself; this safety feature means that there is no need for additional components. The LUMii MAXii comes as a complete HID reflector set, supplied with hanging hooks. A unique feature of this reflector is that with the addition of the LUMii HID to CFL Converter Set, it can accept a CFL lamp. 6 LAMPS LUMii SunBlaster AVAILABLE IN 400 AND 600 WATT LUMii SunBlaster Dual Spectrum HPS Lamps The LUMii SunBlaster HPS offers exceptionally high output. Couple this with raised spectral discharge in the reds and blues (exactly the right spectral energy distribution curves that your plants need to thrive) and a long lamp life, and you have the perfect plant grow light. Available in 400 watt and 600 watt. Both have 32,000 life hours = 4190mw/nm Spectral Output Raised output Wavelength (nm) We recommend using LUMii SunBlaster lamps with all the LUMii ballast range, as we design our units to be optimised with these mix spectral high output lamps. If using another brand of lamp, please make sure it is from a quality producer to be able to get the most from your LUMii ballast. PLEASE NOTE: There are now very low quality Asian lamps coming into the market, which are not designed for horticulture or for being run on specialist high output horticultural ballasts. They are basically road lighting lamps and should not be considered as they will offer poor performance and can even not ignite properly. Always use the correct wattage of lamp so, if you are using a 600 watt ballast, then choose a 600 watt lamp. Likewise if using an adjustable wattage ballast such as the LUMii DIGITA Electronic or the LUMii Dual Core Magnetic, always ensure you match the bulb to the wattage setting selected on your ballast. We recommend changing your lamp every nine months to get the best performance. After nine months, an HID lamp starts to rapidly deteriorate and you may also have problems with igniting an older lamp, due to the higher power needed at start up when a lamp is old. LUMii CFL LAMPS AVAILABLE IN WARM AND COOL Spectral output changes in an HPS lamp as it ages. We recommend changing your lamp every 9-12 months for optimum growth conditions. COOL lamp WARM lamp LUMii Energy Saving CFL Grow Lamps The LUMii Energy Saving CFL Grow Lamp is the low energy option for you. Available in both Warm and Cool White, these lamps can easily be interchanged. The LUMii Energy Saving CFL Grow Lamp is a high output 125 watt 5U CFL. Warm Lamp: 2700k Cool Lamp: 6400k TIP: Use a Cool White lamp in a LUMii MAXii reflector for the vegetative growth stage, then swap over to a LUMii HPS lamp for the flowering stage (HPS lamps will need a LUMii ballast).

7 TIMERS Heavy Duty 24 Hour Plug-In Timer Designed to take high loads Normal household timers are not built to take the high inductive loads produced by HID ballasts. If used with an HID ballast, the contacts inside the timer that open and close the timed circuit will overheat and weld together, breaking the timer and leaving your grow lights permanently on. 8 ACCESSORIES LUMii Reflector Cord Set The LUMii Reflector Cord Set is a package offering a 4 metre IEC Cord Set and a lamp holder. Ideal for hanging lamps in the canopy of your crop for extra light in those dark places. If using without a reflector, use in conjunction with the LUMii Cord Set Hanging Bracket Patent Pending LUMii Cord Set Hanging Bracket When you want to hang a lamp vertically, the LUMii Cord Set Hanging Bracket is just what you need! This simple, yet effective hanging bracket allows lamps to hang alone securely; without a reflector! Simply attach to the LUMii Cord Set.
