Typically jets are placed on the rear wall of the pool. For 48 and 54 deep panels, this is the only practical location. Keep in mind that access from the outside of the pool is required. This can be achieved with access panels in any skirting material you may use. The diagram on page four illustrates one possible configuration. The jets can be either clustered as illustrated or located remotely from one another. Because personal preference will vary, a good way to select location is to sit in a chair and measure from the seating surface to where the jet would be most comfortable on your back. Add 15", 21" or 27" depending on your panel height (the height of the bench). This will give you the vertical distance from the floor to the desired jet location. Additionally, the holes for the jet suction need to be considered. The two jet suctions need to be 3 apart (from center point to center point). The diagram on page 3 of this illustrates one suction fitting on the front panel between the hydraulic hoses (for the swim current) and the other on the same wall as the jets. If on-site conditions allow, the jet suctions may be placed on the front panel of the pool. If placed on the front panel, the 2 suctions holes must be a minimum of three feet apart. Make sure that your holes will not interfere with reinforcing braces on the back of the panel. The center point of any hole cut in the panel should be a minimum of 12 away from a corner. The center point should also be a minimum of 11-1/2 up from the floor of the pool, but make sure that it won t interfere with the installation of the swim current return channel or propulsion housing. The 3/4hp, 220v jet pump needs to be installed with the rest of the remotely located equipment, since it will receive its electrical supply from the heater controller. The electrical cord, which is pre-wired to the pump, plugs into port P1 (orange) on the heater controller. Please remember that drainage or water diversion drain from the equipment is recommended. Important notice: If your pool or equipment will be subjected to freezing temperatures, special consideration must be given to the jet system in order to avoid freezing of the plumbing lines. Your heater/controller is programmed to automatically circulate the jet plumbing lines four times a day. This circulation reduces the likelihood that the plumbing lines will freeze. Once your pool s installation is complete and the panels are in an enclosed space, additional insulation of the siding material will help keep the warm air radiating from your pool panels in the enclosed space, which is where the jet plumbing lines are located. Having your jet plumbing line run within the space of your bottom flange of your panels is necessary for proper protection from freezing. The plumbing lines between the equipment and the pool have to be considered as well. If running underground, ensure that the plumbing lines are below the frost line (typically 18 ). If the plumbing lines are not running underground, measures should be taken to protect the pipes from freezing. Call Customer Service ( ) to discuss your project should you have questions.

2 Page 2 of 6 Additionally, the heater controller comes equipped with a smart winter mode (SWM). When the SWM senses the temperature by the heater-controller approach freezing, the system will automatically turn the pump on to ensure that there is warm water moving through the plumbing lines. If you believe that these measures will be insufficient to prevent your jet plumbing lines from freezing, please call our Customer Service Department. Installation Instructions 1. With the 2 1 / 2 " hole saw provided, drill four holes through the galvanized pool wall in the predetermined locations. After the holes have been drilled, remove any burrs from the panel with a file, and apply a small amount of silicone to the exposed edge of the hole. Again, the placement of the two suction holes need to be considered. They have to be 3 apart (from center point to center point) and a minimum of 12 away from the corner. If the suctions are to be placed under the water return channels, then the hole must be 11-1/2 up from the base of the panel. If you have 54" tall panels, please reference that. 2. Once the water level is just below the lowest fitting cut the liner using the holes as a template. If the lowest fitting is a suction fitting: Install each thru-wall fitting so that there is a black gasket between the fitting and the liner and the liner and the panel on the inside of the pool. On the backside, place the cork gasket between the panel and the lock nut. Once the fitting is installed, remove the suction screen and install one of the smaller rubber wing-nut plugs. If the lowest fitting is a jet fitting: Place the white gasket between the liner and the steel panel. Place the clear gasket onto the jet bulkhead and slide down to the backside of the bulkhead face. Apply a bead of silicone sealant on the backside of the galvanized panel around the perimeter of the hole where contact will be made with the face of the jet body (The portion of the jet fitting that receives the plumbing). Press the jet body with air tube installed against the pool wall, aligning with the drilled hole. Apply Teflon sealant completely around the threaded barrel of the jet bulkhead. Screw the jet bulkhead with the gasket and Teflon into the corresponding jet body. A jet tool has been included in your kit to help with the tightening of the jet bulkheads. Note: Be sure not to cross-thread the jet bulkhead as it will not seat properly. Once the jet body is secured, install one of the larger rubber wing nut plugs. 3. Continue to fill the pool, stopping temporarily under the next thru wall cutout. Install the appropriate thru-wall as described in the previous step. Then continue to fill. Repeat this process until all of the thru-walls have been installed. Once all the thru-walls have been install and plugged off, the rest of the plumbing can be completed. Cement all PVC slip connections following the cement manufacturer's recommendations 4. Cut lengths of the 1/2" PVC pipe for the air supply to each jet. The air pipes for the lower jets may require elbows to clear the jets and piping above. Once installed, the open top of the air supply must be sufficiently above the water line to prevent spill over. The pipe should be terminated 1/4" below the top flange of the pool panel. The 1/2" air supply tubes should be cemented to the jet bodies first, in an inverted position, with the jet internals removed, to prevent dripping of PVC cement or cleaner into the air passages. 5. Cut lengths of the 1 1 / 2 " PVC pipe provided to connect to each of the four jets. Three 1 1 / 2 " Tee's and one elbow should be fabricated to provide a supply piping manifold to coincide with the four jet locations. From each of these four fittings extends 1 1 / 2 " PVC to a union. From the unions, connect to each jet with 1 1 / 2 " PVC and an elbow (lower jets use male slip-female slip street elbows, upper jets use a nipple cut to length and a female slip-female slip elbow). The side of each jet opposite where the supply is connected at the bottom will require a plug. The unions allow each jet to be installed separately either before or after the supply piping manifold is assembled. 6. In each of the jet suction fittings, glue in a male slip x male pipe thread adapter. Then thread a female pipe thread x female slip union onto the adapter. The two jet suctions must be interconnected with an 1 1 / 2 " Tee prior to being plumbed into the jet pump suction fitting.

3 Page 3 of 6 7. With the four jets and the suction fittings installed, the ball valves and remaining piping back to the jet pump can be installed. Union fittings have been provided on each side of the jet pump to facilitate its removal should service ever be required. The pump will come with the electrical cord pre-wired. The pump should be placed close enough to the heater controller so that it can be plugged in. 8. Check the 1/2" air supply pipes to make certain that all four are 1/4 below the top flange of the pool wall. Extend or cut these tubes as required. Using the Hydrotherapy Jets The jets can be turned on by pressing the pump button on the keypad once then, press it a second time to turn off the jets. Before operating the hydrotherapy jets, make certain that both ball valves are open and the plug in the suction fitting has been removed. The protective suction strainer should now be reinstalled at this time. It is extremely important that strainer be screwed into the suction fitting assembly.
