2 ALTA PRESSIONE HAUTE PRESSION INJECTION HAZARD/ CAUTION RISCHIO DI FERITE RISIQUES A LA PULVERISATION IMPORTANT: READ AND UNDERSTAND THESE SPECIAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS BEFORE OPERATING THE UNIT 1) INJECTION HAZARD: Airless painting equipment can cause serious injury if the spray penetrates the skin. Do not point the gun at anyone or any part of the body. In case of penetration seek medical aid immediately. 2) This system is capable of producing 210 Bar (3000 PSI). To avoid rupture and injury, do not operate this pump with components rated less than 210 BAR (3000 PSI) working pressure (including but not limited to spray guns, hose and hose connections). 3) CAUTION: Before servicing, cleaning or removing any part, shut off power and relieve pressure. 4) Static electricity can be developed by airless spraying. Make sure the object being sprayed is grounded through the supply cord. If an extension cord is used, it must be of the three wire, diameter 2,5 each wire, grounded type. 5) Do not spray indoors paints or other inflammable fluids, which have a flash point below 21 C (70 degrees F.). Keep spray area well ventilated. Before spraying, turn off all pilot lights and open flames. 6) Wear a respirator which is approved for the product being sprayed. 7) Do not use halogenated hydrocarbon solvents in this system: it contains aluminium parts and may explode. Cleaning agents, coatings, paints and adhesives may contain halogenated hydrocarbon solvents. Don't take chances, consult your material supplier to be sure. (ex.: methylene chloride and 1,1,1- trichlorethane). 8) Never put hand or fingers in front of gun. Never point gun at your body or at anyone else. Wear eye protection to avoid eye injury. 9) Always keep trigger lock in locked position when gun is not in use. TAIVER AIRLESS PNEUMATIC PUMPS THE SYSTEM This kind of pneumatic motor patented by TAIVER has been engineered particularly for the high pressure pumps. The control unit does not require any maintenance. Thanks to its direct assembly on the motor, the air consumption is reduced to a minimum. COMPRESSED AIR SETUP The system is compressed air driven. Even though the design of the motor does not require it necessarily, it is advisable to utilize compressed air, properly fitered and free from humidity. In this way the sealing joints of the air motor will have a longer life. ICE FORMATION The great advantage of the system is the considerable reduction of ice formation on air purging. Nevertheless, at very low temperatures, it is necessary to use lubricated air with antifreeze, for safety's sake LUBRICATION CHAMBER The paint pump, a compact construction, is screwed to the air motor. The space between the air motor and the apint pump works as a lubrication chamber. Oil coming into this chamber rinses and lubricates the pumping piston on every stroke. Consequently, it is impossible to get incrustations in the piston rod.packings result protected and avoid the problem of seizing. HIGH PRESSURE PUMP The pump inducing the material to circulate, is the true heart of an airless system. This dual effect pump is based on the system known as "dual shaft": the piston moves between two packing sets, stationary compared with the piston. The paint piston is coated with hard chrome or tungsten carbide (depending on the pump) to stand wear as much as possible. Both valves are entirely in tungsten carbide. Different kinds of packings are provided: those teflon/leather mixed are mostly employed. As to the paint section, there are various kinds: chemical nickel-plated steel, stainless or anodized steel, according to demands.

3 The airless gun and the unit have been tested and they are now ready for working. Read carefully these instructions completely before assembling and operating Choose the proper suction system (for paints or dispersion) in accordance with the material density and the spray tip supply Paints Dispersion 1 2 ASSEMBLE BLEED HOSE ASSEMBLE SUCTION HOSE CONNECT HIGH PRESSURE HOSE 3 IMPORTANT Before connecting the gun, be sure to know how safety guard of trigger operates; it has two different positions. Never point the gun to anybody or to any part of your body. A high pressure spray may cause damages on your skin. 4 Connect gun to high pressure hose. Control that general switch is on "0" position, i.e. "off". Be sure that all connections are well done. Now put plug into current tap, controlling that network voltage is the same also for the motor (as marked on the plate) ATTENTION: the material flowing inside the hose generates static electricity, therefore connect the unit to a grounded current tap. 6 PAINTING AND TIP SELECTION Correct adjustment of pressure and proper tip selection are crucial to the best spray pattern. In any situation, the lowest pressure that gives an adequate spray pattern is the best pressure to use. It will give maximum pump and tip life and produce minimum overspray. Typically, thicker materials require larger tips and higher pressures than thinner paints do. Some very thick paints may require slight thinning (5-10%) depending upon pump and tip size and application. Generally, thinning is performed when a good spray pattern cannot be obtained with an appropriate tip size at miximum pressure. The pictures below illustrate some of the main "do" and " do not" methods of spraying techniques. 30 cm. Light coat here Heavy coat here Light coat here 30 cm. Right Wrong Incorrect Spraying with your wrist will cause the gun to "arc", which will cause uneven paint thickness. Spraying at the wrong distance or angle will also cause uneven paint thickness and possible runs.

7 START UP PROCEDURE 1 IMPORTANT Prepare the paint according to manufacturer's recommandations. Strain the paint through a fine nylon mesh bag, if necessary. 4 Paint 1. Place syphon into paint container Relief valve must be on open position 3. Tunr air pressure regulator slightly clockwise up to 3 Bar 4. The pump starts priming. The material will flow back into container through relief valve open. Let circulate for a while. 5. Turn relief valve off. In this way, all the material pressure will get to the gun. 6. Hold gun and trigger and turn slightly air pressure knob clockwise, till you get a proper atomization 5 6

8 CLEANING THE UNIT 1 Turn relief valve on 1 2 Turn the pump on. Tilt suction-return system above paint container, so that the suction tube is out of it, allowing all the material to flush out the same. 4 3 Place suction system into solvent container. 2 4 Hold gun against paint container and trigger it, to flush out all the material 3 Paint Solvent 5 Hold gun against solvent container, turn relief valve off and keep gun triggered for some minutes. 6 Open relief valve again. Tilt suction-return system above container, so that the suction tube is out of it, allowing all the solvent to flush out of the retun-tube. Clean properly the suction filter, too. Turn unit off. Engage gun safety lock and clean the exterior using a solvent-soaked cloth. Lubricate all the mobile parts. It is advisable to keep gun connected to the hose even when it is not working.
