3 The FLUIDRAIN Timer is produced using SMT (Surface Mounting Technology), ensuring improved performance and consistency process. The application of the timer is to control the OPEN (pulse) and CLOSED (pause) cycles of solenoid valves. Cycles range options are: milliseconds, seconds, minutes and hours. Adjustable cycle potentiometers offering ON and OFF cycle options, bright yellow LED's indicate in which cycle the timer is operating. 4 MAGY Filter drain JORC Magnetically operated zero air loss drain The MAGY removes condensate from compressed air filters. The operation is automatic and there is no compressed air lost during the condensate discharge cycle. The MAGY uses magnetic forces to operate the direct acting valve assembly and is ideally suited in applications where power is not available, not desired or not reliable. The magnets have been specially selected to ensure long lasting magnetisme is guaranteed. Standard Features Flow rates Air Oil Separator Boxes are available for nominal flow rates of 1 m3/min up to 5.5 m3/min (35 to 194 cfm) at an operating pressure of 7 bar (0.7 MPa). The housings of the Air Oil Separator Boxes are designed for operating pressures up to a maximum of 20 bar (2 MPa) or a maximum of 14 bar (1.4 MPa) Separation efficiency The residual oil content of the compressed air at nominal flow rate and 7 bar (0.7 MPa) operating pressure is approximately 1 to 3 mg/m3 (1 to 3 ppm). 4 of 29

5 Service life The rise in flow resistance and thus service life primarily depend on the cleanness of the oil and the quality of the air filter. A service life of several thousand hours can be achieved with a well-functioning system. Fitting advice Air Oil Separator Boxes are fitted vertically by hand on the firmly installed filter head using a suitable adapter union. MANN+HUMMEL recommends installation in a maintenance-friendly position. Maintenance The air oil separator boxes must be replaced if the flow resistance reaches 1 bar (0.1 MPa). The box may only be replaced when the system is depressurised. A commercially available belt wrench is sufficient to remove the box. The box is fitted and tightened manually. Design and function This product is suitable for flow from the outside to the inside. It can be used for the entire range of current versions of screw-type and sliding vane compressors. The standard wrap elements are particularly insensitive to design variations and achieve optimal results with regard to separation efficiency and service life. MANN+HUMMEL Oil Filters MANN+HUMMEL SPIN-ON OIL FILTER Spin-on oil filters form one unit consisting of housing and filter element. The whole unit is replaced during maintenance. Oil filter prevents wear in the compressor and extends the economic life-time of the air-oil separator element. Standard Features, Anti-drain valve: Ensures that the filter and oil channels do not empty when the engine is switched off and that oil is readily available when the engine is started. Bypass valve: Ensures that oil is available when the engine is cold started and when a service is long overdue, if the oil filter is very dirty. Wrench removal tools: Ensure that you can remove anad fit a spin-on oil filter quickly and efficiently. OIL FILTER ELEMENTS Advantages MANN-FILTER oil filter elements are either situated in their own housing or they are integrated directly into the engine oil circulation system. They are particularly kind to the environment as only the filter element is replaced. Housing and valves remain on the engine block. LiquiPure, LP Series Air flow rate m³/min The condensate contains large quantities of oil and impurities, which if freely drained create significant environmental damage. For these reasons, most countries have implemented strict condensate drain legislations. Solutions which do not guarantee the required draining quality lead to the risk of significant fines, whilst traditional treatment solutions present a notable financial burden. LiquiPure LP is water-oil separation system for non-emulsion oily condensate, which solves this problem at a low cost and with low maintenance and guarantees the separation in accordance with local legislations. MTA Water Cooled Aftercooler, CoolPro - WE/WF Series MTA Air flow m³/min Final water coolers from the CoolPro WE/WF series allow the efficient and economical purification of compressed air by cooling the air at the outlet of the compressor at an outlet temperature of only 10 C higher than that of the inlet water. This cooling causes condensation of up to 80% of the moisture present in the compressed air that can be separated thanks to an AS/MS centrifugal condensate separator installed at the outlet of the cooler. 13 MTA Refrigeration Air Dryers, HPD Series MTA Air flow m³/min The HPDry has been studied specifically for high pressure drying requirements (e.g. the production of PET bottles). The extremely strong construction with shell and tube heat exchangers with stainless steel pipes, ensures safe and continuous operation in any conditions. HPDry is an energy saving dryer as it exploits the operational advantages of the thermal storage principle: a hydraulic vessel on the machine accumulates cold, acting as a thermal storage. This allows the dryer to automatically adapt to the air flow and ambient conditions, ensuring energy savings, which at partial loads can typically vary from 30 to 80%. All HPDry models are made up from a chiller used to cool the compressed air passing through the gas/water shell and tube heat exchanger, allowing the moisture to be removed. It is important to realize that a coalescer is excellent at removing aerosols and liquids but not vapours like hydrocarbons and odors. A vapour filter removes vapours with an adsorbent. The C grade, an activated carbon filter, is a vapour filter which removes oil vapor and hydrocarbon odors. Depending on the air flow and oil content in the compressed air, vapour filter elements need to be replaced every few months because the effectiveness of the activated carbon degrades as it adsorbs the oil. Compressed air filters should be installed in a level pipeline, mounted vertically, the bowl downward with one element length clearance for element removal. The filter should be installed at the highest pressure point available, and as close to the equipment being protected as possible and have a drip leg immediately upstream. Pressure drop is used to determine when to change a filter. Contaminants, pressure, temperature and other variables affect the service-life of a filter. Generally in a compressed air system, when the pressure drop across the filter reaches bar (8 to 10 psi), the element should be changed. It is critical to drain the filter housing daily to release condensate that gathers in the bottom of the filter bowl. Automatic drain valves simplify this process and protect your system from water flooding. AFE s filters provide air quality to the ISO 8573 standard but it s important to remember that the effectiveness of any filter is directly related to the performance of the filter element at minimal pressure differential. So check your AFE filter elements often and reorder when necessary to assure a steady stream of contaminant-free compressed air in your system!
