1 Instruction Sheet P/N 6 0 WARNING: Allow only qualified personnel to perform the following tasks. Follow the safety instructions in this document and all other related documentation. Replace the Upper Check Valve Disassemble the Hydraulic Section See Figure and Figure.. Unscrew the screws (8) from the solvent chamber ().. Remove the washer (7) from the screw (8).. Work the siphon housing (6) off the pressure housing (). Use a soft, non-marring mallet if necessary.. Place the hydraulic section on wood blocks (0) as shown.. Drive the plunger assembly (9) out of the upper packing gland () with the plunger removal/packing insertion tool. 6. Remove the O-rings () from the pressure housing (). 7. Place the flats on the top of the plunger () in a vise and unscrew the pressure ball seat (7) from the bottom of the plunger. 8. Remove the lower backup washer (), piston cup (), energizing washer (), and upper backup washer (). 9. Remove the ball () from the plunger () and the O-ring (6) from the pressure ball seat (7).

4 Assemble the Hydraulic Section NOTE: Lubricate all O-rings and lower packing U-cups with Mobil SHC 6 before installing them. Tighten all threaded parts securely. See Figure and Figure.. Place the flats on the top of the plunger () into a vise. Place the ball () into the plunger.. Assemble the lower packings on the plunger in the following order: a. Upper backup washer () (smaller than lower backup washer) b. Energizing washer () with flared edge oriented toward the plunger c. Piston cup () with cup oriented toward the plunger d. Lower backup washer (). Install a new O-ring (6) on the pressure ball seat (7).. Thread the new pressure ball seat (7) into the plunger () and tighten to ft lb (6. 0. N m).. Place the solvent chamber/packing gland assembly upside down on a flat work surface. Lubricate the plunger shaft () with Mobil SHC 6, then drive it through the upper packing gland () by pressing, until the plunger touches the work surface. 6. Install new O-rings (6) on the pressure housing (). 7. Carefully install the pressure housing (), slotted end first, over the plunger () and piston cup. Press and drive the pressure housing over the packing assembly and into the solvent chamber (), aligning the pressure housing slot with the fluid outlet port in the solvent chamber. 8. Turn the pump assembly over and install the siphon housing (6) over the pressure housing (). 9. Install the screws (8) and alternate tightening to maintain alignment and prevent binding. Torque to ft-lb (. N m).
