PREFACE THE SELECTION OF PROPER EQUIPMENT FOR SUITABLE APPLICATION IS PHENOMENA OF HANGING A COAT TO A SUITABLE HANGER. A MISTAKE CAN LAND THE PROJECT INTO DE-SHAPE WHICH MAY COST HEAVILY TO PUT BACK. [PLEASE ENCASH OUR EXPERIENCE FOR THE SELECTION OF PROPER FANS AND EQUIPMENTS.] ABBOTT AIR SYSTEMS: - A EIGHTEEN YEARS OLD COMPANY MANUFACTURING AND MARKETING THE AIR HANDLING EQUIPMENT AS SAID BELOW HAVING THE BRAND NAME OF DAMAIR WITH MORE THAN 1500 SATISFIED CUSTOMERS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. WE ALSO HANDLE THE BELOW GIVEN PROJECTS ON TURNKEY BASIS. EQUIPMENT: - - PROJECTS: AIR HANDLING UNITS CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING CENTRIFUGAL BLOWERS VENTILATION RADIAL FANS EXHAUST INDUCE DRAFT FANS PRESSURIZATION FORCED DRAFT FANS AIR COOLING AXIAL FLOW FANS PNEUMATIC CONVEYING ROOF EXTRACTORS DUST COLLECTION MAN COOLERS DUST COLLECTOR AIR WASHERS FRESH AIR UNITS POLLUTION CONTROL AIR CURTAINS THE ENCLOSED BOOKS CONTAIN THE DETAILS OF ABOVE SAID EQUIPMENTS WITH PERFORMANCE CURVES, TESTING FACILITIES ETC. YOU CAN SELECT THE EQUIPMENTS ON THESE PERFORMANCE CURVES. THE DESIGNS OF THE
EQUIPMENT ARE TESTED AND TRIED ON SPECIFIED CONDITIONS SEVERAL TIMES AND ON THE TEST TIGS AVALABLE IN OUR FACTORY AS PER AMCA STANDARDS. Damair Fans are designed to produce the desired flow of air and gasses with required static pressure in ducts considering the drops in pressure at various points and positions and resistances. The variation is required at suitable place in systems. The increase and decrease of pressure can be arranged by drive arrangement given along with fans. Damair at an outset uses the following symbols for calculations given ahead with their unit. Pt = = Gas flow at fan inlet Total pressure increase between inlet & outlet. -- m 3 /hr, Cu. Ft/min -- mm H 2 O, inches H 2 O Pd = Dynamic Pressure at outlet. -- mm H 2 O, inches H 2 O Pa = Absolute Pressure. -- mm H 2 O, inches H 2 O T = Absolute Temperature. -- OK n = Fan Speed. -- RPM Nt = Power Requirement. -- KW Ns = Power requirement at shaft. -- KW V = Air velocity at fan outlet. -- m/sec, ft/min N P = = Fan efficiency. Gas density. -- % -- Kg./m 3 A = Area of fan inlet. -- sq. m or sq. ft. Damair offers wide ranges of fans and single fan as you will find in the selections and performance curves given along. The fans are rigid in construction for suitable application and the company provides its 18 years experience in products and projects with continuously improvements taking place from time to time. As far the testing of fans is considered the following parameters take place with the methods of calculations. Q = V X A
AIR DELIVERY TEST AND COMPUTATION: - Air delivery is determined of the fan at specified static pressure on following tests. a) Fan Inlet is attached to a straight cylindrical duct of dia D and length 4D. This duct can be connected by means of a reducer. b) At Inlet end of the duct, a conical Inlet and 4 side toppings as given below are provided. c) These 4 side toppings at plane AA shall equally spaced at 90 o on cylindrical duct. Adaptors fitted in the toppings have the fine bore 4.8 mm in diameter and is at right angle to the duct air passage. These 4 toppings are connected to the 4 sides of the block having 5 Nos. of 4.76 dia holes. This will minimize the difference of pressure at the duct and the 5 th hole is connected to the limb of manometer having other side open to the atmosphere. The Manometer reading is observed carefully and sometimes the static pressure is checked with the help of sine Manometers. d) Coefficient of discharges CD. The Coefficient of dischage of conical inlet for Reynold number 4,00,000 and above is and majorly taken into consideration while resting the fans. The values of CD are obtained by linet Interpolation and the Reynold number is given by Re=(23.85Q)/D and is taken to determine the CD. e) Resistance screen having equally spaced apertures not exceeding D/20 are fitted at distance of D from the cylindrical portion of the inlet. The screen may be in multilayers as required and tested at various static pressure observation are obtained by changing the number of screens. f) At plane BB distant 2D downstream from the resistance screen has 4 topping equal spaced and connected to the limb of Manometer with the help of 5-way block. g) While testing the fan we consider the temperatures to be ambient. Inlet volume compiled is used to calculate the velocity pressure at plane BB. h) Total pressure of each fan is equal to the sum of fan static pressure and the velocity pressure calculated from average velocity at the fan outlet.
i) O, Q off fans are designed for optimum performance at given duty and works on various ranges of pressure and volume. Thus, we have generated the performance curves give various selections to suit the applications and requirement of our customers. Computation of Results: - Cubic Meter of Air per hour : Q Q=12500 X CD X D 2 X AP/Wt m 3 /hr Where as CD = Coefficient of discharge D = Diameter of duct in meters AP = Difference between ambient pressure in the vicinity of inlet and average pressure at plane AA in mm Water Column. Wt. = Weight of Air in duct at the temparature t o C. in Kg/m 2 B Ps Wt = 1.2 X X Kg/m t (Taking 1.2 Kg/m 3 as the Wt. of standard air at 20 o C and 760mm Hg.) Where B = Barometric Pressure in mm Hg. Ps = Static Pressure in mm H 2 O Velocity of Air at point V = X Ps/Wt m/hr Average Velocity of Air in duct V = Q/A m/hr Where a is the area of duct in square meter Frication loss in duct Pt. = 0.02 X L/D X Pv mm H 2 O Torque To determine the maximum starting torque, the hub bore size and type is selected so that starting torque by the wheel does not exceed the maximum torque limits of the hub. We can calculate the starting torque by selection of motor horsepower for the application. Motor HP X 5252 Starting Torque (1b.ft.) = X Z
Fan RPM Direct Drive Belt Drive ARRANGEMENT Single Phase Three Phase Z = One Wheel in Shaft Z = One Wheel in Shaft Power Consumption Although the selections given are tried & tested with our experience but the theoretical determination is based on following formula. Q X Pt. Pw = Kw 1000 X n Where Pw = Power Consumption
