4 Relax - it s a Gazco fire basket When you choose Gazco, quality and technology are assured. From period styles to state-of-the-art designs, Gazco is committed to creating the ultimate in both solid fuel and flame-effect gas and electric fires. Every model featured is handcrafted using traditional materials such as brass, steel, chrome and cast iron. Many are also offered in a choice of sizes and in a variety of casting shapes or finishes. In fact, there are almost 150 combinations from which to select the perfect fire basket for your fireplace. Gazco is a BSI registered firm. Our rigorous quality control systems ensure that all our appliances comply with British safety standards as well as stringent European regulations. We also carry the independently assessed CE mark on all our gas fires. 4

Secondly, you will need to be aware of what type of chimney you have. Fuels Wood, coal and smokeless fuels Most Gazco traditional fire baskets illustrated in this brochure are suitable for burning solid fuels such as logs and anthracite as well as approved smokeless fuels. Gas Most Gazco fire baskets can be specified for use with either Natural Gas or LPG. Natural Gas is provided through mains pipelines, whilst LPG is usually supplied to homes in rural areas from a tank in the garden or from gas bottles. Electric Many fire baskets are available with Gazco's electric coal effect and fan heater. These will require a 13amp socket located within 1 metre of your fireplace. Chimney or no chimney? To use a fire basket to burn solid fuels or install a gas version, your home will generally require a conventional brick or stone built chimney. These are easily recognisable, as the stack rises well above the roofline and is topped by a traditional chimney pot or, possibly, a gas terminal. 6 Check with your local Gazco dealer that your flue and fire opening are suitable for the fire of your choice.

7 Gas and Electric options 1. Gas logs All baskets illustrated in this brochure are available with superb living flame gas fires and many can also be specified with Gazco's excellent electric fuel effect fires. The following are the choices from which you can select: Gas fuel effects Fires with gas logs (1), driftwood (2), coals (3) or glass (5) are available for natural gas and LPG but the pebble effect (4) is only available for natural gas. The glass effect is only offered as an option with the Aspen, Chamonix and Tahoe models. Please see page 25 for a full list of features. If you are fitting a gas fire, you can also upgrade to Gazco's Command remote control system on all models except the Swan's Nest. It means that once the pilot has been ignited manually, the handset allows you to vary the flame height and heat output from the comfort of your armchair! 2. Gas driftwood 3. Gas coals 4. Gas pebbles Electric fires Electric fires (6) provide you with the comforts of a warming, flickering glow and a thermostatically controlled fan heater. They can be operated in three modes - glow only, glow + 1kW of heat and glow + 2kW of heat - and, in most cases, the fan heater can be discreetly hidden behind an optional ashpan cover when not in use. 5. Gas glass Custom-built gas fires If you have an existing grate or basket, and would like the extra convenience of a gas fire, then Gazco can provide you with a made-to-measure fire in a choice of log, driftwood, coal and pebble effects. 8 Medium Chamonix with glass-effect gas fire Contemporary fire baskets 8 Chamonix There are two distinctive versions of the Chamonix. The first has a brushed stainless steel top and is available in three sizes. The Medium model in this series has less depth, thus allowing it to fit into a standard British 'constructional fireplace opening'. The second version features a top in grey glass and this model is available in the small and large sizes. All Chamonix models are offered complete with gas fires in a choice of log, driftwood, coal, pebble or glass effects.

Baskets that are supplied with a Gazco gas fire must be fitted by a qualified gas installer (CORGI registered in the UK), who should also verify the proposed site conditions are fully suitable for the product selected. Complete installation instructions can be obtained prior to purchase by downloading them from Controls on gas fire versions All gas fires except Amhurst, Art Deco, Cromwell, Plymouth, Pub Scene, Rochester, Stratford and Swan's Nest are supplied with controls on the right hand side. The Amhurst, Art Deco, Rochester and Stratford have the option of controls at the front. The Chatsworth, Cromwell, Plymouth and Pub Scene have controls at the front only. The Swan's Nest has 'extended controls' only. Colours Owing to variations in studio lighting and printing inks, the finishes/colour of fires illustrated in this brochure may differ slightly from actual models. Before purchasing, please ask your retailer to show you finish/colour samples. Care and maintenance Traditional materials, such as polished steel and brass, tarnish on contact with air, especially when also exposed to heat. To help minimise this effect, we recommend baskets receive regular treatment with Stovax Steel Cleaner and Stovax Brass & Copper Polish. Other surfaces can be maintained from time to time with Stovax Stainless Steel Cleaner and Stovax Traditional Black Grate Polish. Additionally, please remember that gas fires will require servicing annually by a CORGI registered engineer. Product improvement Gazco's policy is one of constant product improvement.
