4 Choosing a Service Contract Hart Beats Customers often ask us which of our service agreements is best for their oil equipment, the Super Value Plan or the Total Comfort Plan. It s a good question because while both plans provide fantastic savings, not to mention invaluable peace of mind, there are some key differences between the two. The most obvious difference is in the parts and labor coverage. Both plans include FREE coverage for the repair or replacement of standard parts, but the Total Comfort plan also covers the additional parts and services listed here: Let s face it, though: most people aren t familiar with all of their heating equipment s nuts and bolts, so with little knowledge of the terms to the right, how do they determine which plan is best for their system? Well, there are several other important distinctions between the Super Value and Total Comfort plans. First, only the Total Comfort Plan includes free TankSure coverage (see page 5), so if your aboveground oil tank is getting up there in age, then the Total Comfort Plan is probably the option for you. However, because tanks corrode from the inside out, it can be tough to determine when one needs to be replaced. That s why we offer homeowners guaranteed peace of mind through the TankSure program. Here s how it works: Using EPA-approved ultrasonic testing, our technicians conduct an inspection during your annual tune-up. In addition to using ultrasonic thickness gauges to detect possible corrosion spots in your tanks walls, we inspect tank components such as legs, seams, fill and vent piping as well as your vent alarm.
