PROPER FREON USAGE The below list shows the correct Freon usage for each Sno-Block B-220-SB MP-220-SB SB SPB SPB B-440-SB MP-440-SB SB SPB SPB B-880-SB MP-880-SB SB SPB SPB B-1200-SB SPB SPB SB SB SB SB SB SB SB SB SB SB The model number on your Sno-Block or Spinner Block ice machine is the only way to determine the type of Freon used in the machine. All machines with model numbers starting with B use Freon 12 except the B-1200-SB which uses Freon 502 All machines with model numbers starting with MP use Freon MP39 All machines with model numbers starting with 406 use Freon 406A All machines with model numbers starting with 409 use Freon 409A All machines with model numbers starting with 414 use Freon 414B All machines with model numbers staring with 404 use Freon 404A It is very important that you keep this manual in a safe place, if your machine requires service it will require proper Freon. MAINTENANCE & SERVICE The cans/plastic canisters manufactured for the Sno-Block and Spinner-Block Ice Maker are of top quality materials and when properly cared for, will withstand years of use. The following is a list of tips and valuable information regarding the proper use and maintenance of the cans/plastic canisters. NEVER PLACE ANY TYPE OF ICE IN THE CANS/PLASTIC CANISTERS TO SPEED FREEZING. Even the slightest presence of ice in the cans/plastic canisters when the freezing process begins, will disrupt the proper pattern of freezing and cause water to be trapped on the sides and the bottom of the can/plastic canister. The pressure resulting from this will bulge and/or split these cans/plastic canisters. NEVER ALLOW BLOCKS TO PARTIALLY THAW & THEN ALLOWED TO RE-FREEZE.

2 This will cause the cans/plastic canisters to split. There are two situations that will cause this to happen: 1. The can/plastic canister is removed from the machine and allowed to slightly thaw. If the can/plastic canister is put right back in the machine, this will cause the water around the edges to refreeze, resulting in a split or bulged can/plastic canister. Once the can/plastic canister is removed from the machine, never allow it to stand for even 1 minute, without removing the ice from the can/plastic canister (harvesting), and refilling and returning to the machine 2. Never shut off the refrigeration on the machine for any period of time without removing the ice from the cans/plastic canisters. Should you shut the refrigeration off, while the cans/plastic canisters are frozen, and turn it back on, the cans/plastic canisters will have thawed somewhat, and once re-frozen, will result in the cans/plastic canisters splitting or bulging. Once a can/plastic canister has split or bulged, it is useless. It is very important that you never thaw and refreeze the cans/plastic canisters. Handle the cans/plastic canisters with care when removing from the machine. Do not hit the can/plastic canister to break loose the ice, nor attempt to use an ice pick to remove ice. SNO-BLOCK AND SPINNER-BLOCK CAN/PLASTIC CANISTER WARRANTY POLICY The warranty is intended to protect against manufacturing defects in the cabinet. Any cans/plastic canisters returned which show signs of abuse or misuse, will not be covered by the warranty. When the cans/plastic canisters are completely frozen, remove them as needed, place them upside down on a harvest table or sink and either run water over the can/plastic canister and the ice will release in a few seconds, or leave cans/plastic canisters for minutes and they will lightly thaw and release. Once the ice is removed from the can/plastic canister, it is ready for use, or may be bagged and stored in a freezer. Refill empty cans/plastic canisters with water until reaching the appropriate level and place back in your machine. The agitator motor is designed to run continuously. The agitator motor will get hot. This is normal. Take extreme care not to build excessive ice in the solution containing the propylene glycol. Avoid any ice build-up on the cooling coils. If ice builds up, it can be controlled by adding glycol to the solution or by raising the T-Stat. If excessive ice builds up in the solution containing the Downfrost, it will bulge or break the cabinet. Discard the first harvest because of possible impurities in the cans/plastic containers. Be sure cans/plastic canisters are thoroughly clean before you make ice for consumption. Under no circumstance should you set the thermostat any lower than 0 (zero) degrees, as this could cause severe damage to the cabinet. Keep the condenser clean by periodically brushing out lent and dust from between the fins. This is very important as it keeps the unit running at its highest efficiency. Order any replacement parts directly from Delta Ice, Air & Heat. Be sure that you supply your model and serial numbers of both the cabinet and the condensing unit. This will insure that the part you order is the part needed for your particular machine. The water in the cabinet may diminish due to evaporation and use. This is normal. Just refill with a mixture of one part propylene glycol to one part water. Additional propylene glycol can be purchased from Delta Ice, Air & Heat.

3 REMOTE INSTALLATION Have a technician make the proper refrigeration installation. Pump down the condensing unit by closing the high side gauge port, thereby storing the refrigerant in the condensing unit. Front seat suction valve and receiver valve on the condensing unit. Place condensing unit in the desired spot, preferably in a location outside of the room where the cabinet is located. If the condensing unit is placed outside, provide a shelter over the condensing unit to protect it from the elements, thereby, strengthening the life and efficiency of the condensing unit. Connect 5/8 suction line and 3/8 liquid line. One method is to use Stay Brite 1/8 D-Solder, used with stay clean flux by the J.W. Harris Co. Open discharge gauge and purge about 1 pound of refrigerant through the suction gauge port and let it bleed throughout the receiver gauge port. If a vacuum pump is available, evacuate for one hour immediately after purging. Hook up 110 or 220 volt, single phase, 60 cycle electrical line to the air cooled compressor. Using a liquid detergent, check all connections for leaks. Charge with appropriate refrigerant until Sight Glass has solid liquid. Make sure you use the proper refrigerant. Start the compressor and check the evaporator for frost. The evaporator tubing should frost within 5 minutes. Back seat suction valve and receiver valve, and close off gauge ports and valve stems. Make sure suction valve is cracked to sense pressure control. The high side pressure control is factory set at approximately 275 P.S.I.G., and will kick out only in an emergency situation. The low side pressure control is factory set at approximately 15 P.S.I.G. and cut in, and 2 TO 0 P.S.I.G. cut out. The purpose of the factory setting is a safety precaution in the event of loss of refrigeration or motor failure. Some pressure controls have low side differential settings. The differential should be set at approximately 12 P.S.I.G. (the cut out is equal to the cut in less the differential). SNO-BLOCK AND SPINNER-BLOCK WARRANTY POLICY Delta Ice, Air and Heat Incorporated, warranties this equipment to be free from defect in material and workmanship under normal use and service for one year from date of purchase and is not transferable. Our obligation under this warranty shall be limited to repairing or replacing, at our option, any part of the equipment which proves defective within 90 days from date of purchase by a local licensed refrigeration technician and by Delta Ice, Air and Heat in the greater New Orleans area. The purchase date is the date of the invoice on which the machine was paid and/or shipped. All parts and labor warranty claims shall be examined and at our discretion, will be settled accordingly. This warranty shall not apply to any equipment, or any part of equipment, which has been subjected to any accidents, damage in transit, alterations, improper voltage, unauthorized service, negligence, or by any damage due to war, flood, fire or acts of God, etc. If the compressor is dead on arrival or failed within 90 (ninety) days Delta Ice, Air and Heat may deviate from the Sno-Block and Spinner-Block warranty

4 policy and may contribute towards any labor allowances. The labor time allowance for compressor replacement including start components is 4 hours. The one-year warranty shall not be deemed to place any liability on Delta Ice, Air and Heat Incorporated, for any labor, product loss or travel time. Delta Ice, Air and Heat Incorporated shall only be obligated hereby to furnish replacement sealed in units or replacement F.O.B. factory. All transportation cost and labor in effecting exchanges are to be borne by purchaser. Should replacement parts be required, please submit cabinet and condenser unit model and serial numbers when placing the order. Delta Ice, Air and Heat neither assumes, nor authorizes any person to assume for it any other obligations or liability in connection with the sales of said cabinet or any part thereof. Delta Ice, Air and Heat Incorporated will not give labor allowances for every claim submitted. We spend a tremendous amount of time to solve problems that are the responsibility of the customer. Freight damage, customer misunderstanding, local electrical problems, excessive heat, local service technicians, health department rules, minor adjustments and glycol problems; some may be, but not limited to responsibility of the customer. Please call the factory with any questions regarding warranty before expecting Delta Ice, Air and Heat to cover any claims. Delta Ice, Air and Heat will review every documented, legitimate and reasonable claim, and will respond in accordance with the Sno-Block and Spinner-Block warranty policy. All claims must include model and serial numbers. All claims must include an original or carbon copy of service work order, which bears the customers signature, complete address and phone number. All warranty parts must be returned to factory. All claims must be returned to the factory within 90 days of failure or the claim will be denied.
