2 About the Konica Minolta Colorful Tomorrow Foundation The Konica Minolta Colorful Tomorrow Foundation, Inc. ( The CTF ) is a 501 (c)(3) charitable nonprofit corporation sponsored by Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. ( Konica Minolta ). The mission of the CTF is To transform lives, enable communities and inspire ideas for the next generation to shape a more colorful tomorrow. The CTF is the nucleus of Konica Minolta s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts in the United States, and is constantly searching for innovative ways to help create a more colorful tomorrow by focusing on activities related to improving education and increasing awareness about sustaining our natural environment. 4 koala bears live in Australia. They climb trees and eat eucalyptus leaves. Cars and dogs are dangerous to them, so they need quiet forests for their home.

6 butterflies come in all colors. They pollinate flowers and help fruits and vegetables grow. If the air is clean, they happily do their job.

8 shopping bag Everyone likes to go shopping but too many shopping bags are just thrown away. If we bring our own bag, we ll make less garbage.

10 local produce Strawberries, carrots, grapes and lettuce eating bright, beautiful local fruits and vegetables is a colorful way to stay healthy.

12 light bulb Light bulbs need electricity. We can save power by turning off the lights we don t need and by using new compact fluorescent bulbs.

14 penguins can t fly but can jump as high as a person s head. They like cold weather. If the world gets warmer, they may have trouble finding food.

16 rain forest Rain forests have tall trees, big plants and beautiful animals. They also make oxygen so if we protect them, they can help keep the air cleaner.

18 dolphins People are smart but dolphins have brains as big as ours. They are playful, curious and intelligent. Fisherman try not to catch them by accident.

20 honey bees Bees make sweet honey. You can help bees by planting flowers they like in a flowerpot even if you don t have room for a garden.

22 panda bear Panda bears have been on earth for 3 million years but deep in the forests of China, there are only a few hundred left. We are trying to keep them safe.

24 clean water The earth s surface is threequarters covered by water, but most of it is too salty to drink. That s why clean lakes, rivers and reservoirs are so important.

26 blue whale A blue whale is the largest animal on earth. Its tongue is the size of an elephant! Like all whales, it needs a clean ocean to swim in.

28 trees Trees are important. They clean the air of carbon dioxide, keep us cool with their shade, give us nuts and fruit, and provide homes for birds and animals.

30 hummingbird A hummingbird flaps its wings so fast, you can hardly see them. They can fly forward, backward, even upside down! To attract them, plant colorful flowers.

32 clover Clover is good for the environment even better than grass. It s good for the soil and attracts honey bees. Maybe a 4-leaf clover will bring you good luck!

34 cardinal Backyard birds are fun to watch. They come in all colors and sing songs in the spring and summer. You can help by feeding them or by building them a birdhouse.

36 earthworm Worms may look like creepycrawlies, but they do good by making soil richer and healthier for plants to grow. They also help plant roots get air and water.

38 polar bear Polar bears are white. They live far to the north on cold Arctic shores even on ice. Global warming will make life harder for them.

40 river otter Otters love to play. They dive and swim and slide on their stomachs down hills and snow. They need clean streams, rivers and lakes to raise their families.
