ess Final Site check & Scheduling Once we receive all of your signed paperwork, a site supervisor will come out and check that all items on prestart are completed and that the site is ready for landscaping. Please note that if your site is not ready, you will not be booked in until it is. Once site has been checked, and is ready to proceed, the supervisor will advise the scheduler and your job will be booked in. Below is the basic order of works. Site is signed off and ready to book in. Scheduler will schedule in and client with the dates that works will be completed. There is about a 2 week period from site being checked to date of install. A controller will be installed prior to works commencing. This will be booked for a few days prior to booking, but may often be done sooner depending on works. A cut in to the water meter will also be booked prior to works commencing as above. The retic installation will often take place 1 2 days before the landscaping. However sometimes this may be done on the same day. This will depend upon the size of your property and our current work schedule. You will be advised of the dates. Upon installation of the retic, all garden beds & turf area will be irrigated & will be hooked up to the controller. This will be switched off. The landscaper will then come to site and install all plants, mulch & soil con. Your controller will be set to water the garden bed stations only. A few days after the Landscape install, your turf will be laid. For a confirmed date of this, please contact the office closer to the date. The turf installers will lay your grass, and will then fully set your controller for 3 times daily as per your water exemption. (see page 14 for information on applying for the water exemption) This will see the completion of your landscaping & irrigation works. A manual & key to the controller will be left in your meter box. Please note if your trees are not installed on the date of landscaping, this is because they may not be currently available from our suppliers. These will be on backorder until they are sourced, and once they are, will be installed as soon as possible. This T is a requirement for us to install, so please know we will get this in for you at our earliest possible time. 3

Watering exemptions for new lawns and gardens If you are establishing a new lawn or garden, you may apply for a temporary exemption from the sprinkler roster that applies to your area. New lawn can refer to roll on lawn, runners, shredded lawn and/or seed. This exemption applies to scheme water supplied by the Water Corporation and for garden bores. Between 1 October and 31 March, customers who apply for and are granted an exemption can use sprinklers to water a new lawn and/or garden three times per day for up to 42 days from the day of planting. A 35-day exemption applies from 1 April to 30 September. How to apply The exemption must be applied for and granted on the day of planting. Sprinklers cannot be used outside of the watering roster until an exemption is put in place. To apply for an exemption, please call on the day you need the exemption to start, and provide the required information detailed below. An exemption will be activated immediately for eligible customers and a letter confirming the conditions and end date of the exemption will be sent to you. What you will need to tell us when applying - The address of the property - Your name, mobile, home telephone details and address - If you are using a garden bore - The nature and location of the new planting (i.e. front/back, garden/lawn) - The name of the person responsible for watering the property Breaches of exemptions Water Exemption Once your landscaping has been completed, you will need to contact the Water Corp to arrange a watering exemption. Below is info taken from the Water Corp website. To apply for an exemption please call ( If you have been granted an exemption and found not to comply with the exemption conditions, an infringement notice can be issued. The penalty is a $500 fine, which may be modified to a $100 on-thespot fine. All exemptions cease after the approved exemption period from the date the exemption is requested to commence. Regardless of who has installed the lawn, plants and irrigation system, the owner of the property is held responsible for any breach of the exemption conditions. ions. At the end of the exemption period, the settings on your irrigation controller must be amended according to the sprinkler roster for your area 4

Completion & Handover Once all landscaping works have been completed and you are happy with the end result, please return the Completion Certificate shown on the next page. This will set your Warranty in place, which last 12 months from date of completion. This form is a requirement of the developer and ensures you are happy with the completed works. Please note you will receive a copy of the Controller Manual upon booking of your landscaping. You must ensure that the door to the controller is always kept CLOSED and LOCKED to adhere to warranty conditions. Handover If you would like a handover with a supervisor to show you how to use your controller please indicate this on your form, and a handover will be scheduled. 7 Maintenance of your new garden Total Eden would like to thank you for the opportunity to install landscaping to your property. The following outlines some key points you should consider when caring for and maintaining your new garden to keep it healthy and encourage growth. Watering A watering exemption is required to establish your new lawn and gardens. The exemption will allow you to water 3 times per day for a 42 day period. Note: Lawn and gardens being irrigated using MP Rotators require a runtime of 45mins per station. All newly planted gardens require frequent watering especially during the hot, dry months. It is recommended to water up to three times a day during the first month depending on the weather. The irrigation system will take care of the watering, but it is wise to keep an eye on the lawn and garden in case some plants show signs of distress. Any signs of distress from plants or turf could be an indication of a blocked reticulation outlet. If your landscaping has been installed over summer, we recommend you continue hand watering after your exemption has finished. This should be done a couple of times a week in addition to your 2 normal watering days. New lawn can suffer over the hot months and will require special attention. Lawns A well maintained lawn always helps a garden look its best. Fertilising should be carried out in spring, summer and autumn, approximately every 6-8 weeks. We use and recommend Scott s Lawn Builder to be applied as per rates on the packet and watered in immediately after application. If not watered-in the lawn may burn resulting in large brown patches. Watering is extremely important for the first few weeks. The lawn should not dry out and we recommend watering up to three times a day in hot weather. The addition of a soil wetting agent is beneficial to assist with water penetration in hydrophobic soils. This should be applied every 3-4 months. Mowing is usually carried out weekly or fortnightly in the growing season and every 4-8 weeks during the winter months depending on the variety of the turf. Your lawn mower should be set at 10-15mm for all Cooch hybrids and 20-30mm f or Buffalo. A reel type mower is the best mower to use to cut the lawn, but any mower is appropriate if the blades are sharp to ensure the turf is cut cleanly. 7

Maintenance of your new garden Synthetic Lawn Synthetic lawn is very easy to care for and maintain. It is recommended that approximately once a month, use a hard bristled broom or rake to push up the grass to ensure no flattening of the blades. Occasionally, weeds tend to grow along the edges of the turf and you can spray weed killer directly on these. A garden blower can be used to blow away any leaves or debris. Street Tree As per council requirement in your estate, a street tree will be installed at your property. The species of the tree is not negotiable and will be determined by your local council. However, it is your responsibility to ensure the watering and maintenance of the tree once it has been planted. We recommend watering daily for a period of 4 weeks. Mulching Mulch helps to eliminate weeds, reduces water evaporation from the soil and adds humus to the soil as it breaks down. Mulch should be reapplied as required, especially before the onset of summer making sure that it is kept away from trunks of trees and shrubs. Pruning The majority of plants do not need pruning except to keep them tidy. A few plants such as roses, fruit trees and deciduous trees should be pruned in winter once they have lost their leaves. Flowering varieties of deciduous trees should be attended to after flowering. Most shrubs should be tip pruned and tidied up after the flowering season. This will keep them bushy and promote growth lower down the stems and flowering in the next season. Creepers also require tip pruning to prevent woody growth close to ground level. Ground covers are to be pruned when required, to keep them contained inside garden beds. This should be done regularly, to prevent the plant from getting woody. Prune after flowering. Hedges will need to be pruned regularly to shape and size as required. Shaping should be started while the plants are still young to promote thick even growth. Pests & Disease If garden beds are fertilised, watered well and kept free from weeds, plants in them will be more resistant to disease and insect attacks. If you do find a problem pest in the garden it is wise to eradicate it quickly to prevent it from spreading to other plants. 8

Maintenance of your new garden Fertilising To help your garden become established a soil conditioner has been added to the soil before planting. In addition, sulphate of iron and pine fines should be added to any acid loving plants such as Camellias, Azaleas and Gardenias. If annuals are being planted, the addition of manure will give them the initial boost they require. When applying fertiliser, make sure the soil is damp and always water-in well. Fertilisers should always be applied at the correct rates and should not be given to sick or damaged plants. We hope you enjoy your new garden. By following these simple steps from the initial installation you will be rewarded by a flourishing garden for many years to come. Please don t hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Now sit back, relax and enjoy your new garden 9
