8 Seller Insight We viewed the property 16 years ago, at the time it was derelict and offered us the blank canvass we d been looking for. We embraced the challenge of creating our dream family home complete with wildlife ponds, generous gardens and workshop space. The central atrium was created with the Mediterranean in mind, it has a wonderful feeling of warmth and the sound of the running water fountain makes it the ideal place to relax. The indoor pool has been a real luxury and it s a fantastic feature to share with family and friends. The lounge is our favourite room with its wonderful lake views, from here you can watch the wildlife come and go. A particular highlight is the arrival of the ducklings each year. My wife loves how central and convenient the location is yet how in contrast we are surrounded by the wildlife that have chosen to share our home. I definitely agree with this but for me the privilege of being able to fish at any time and having the workshops for my projects is what makes this home special. Being surrounded by trees and lakes gives you the feeling of living in the countryside yet you have all of the benefits of city living with easy access to major road links and shopping facilities as well as Newcastle International Airport. Foxpond has so much to offer and lends itself perfectly to family living having plenty of space and proposing the option of working from home. You have the benefit of a large house with lakes for fishing, workshops, an office and swimming pool. For horse lovers the workshops could easily be converted into stables. The last 16 years here have brought us and our visitors a great deal of pleasure, we will miss everything about this place, in particular the lifestyle it has provided.

20 The town of Birtley is situated some 7 miles south of the city of Newcastle, 5 miles from Gateshead and just west of the A1M. From Birtley the excellent main road network enables a convenient daily commute to Durham, Gateshead, Team Valley and to the Metro Centre. The town has a number of independent traders on the high street, national banks, Post Office and a large supermarket plus bars and restaurants. Within 1 mile of Birtley there is a choice of schools at both primary and secondary levels. The nearest train station is at Chester le Street which can offer onward connections to Newcastle and Edinburgh to the north and Durham, York and London to the south.
