2 Flower and Garden Show Our Flower and Garden Show will be Friday, July 13th in the small side of the community center building at Lane Agri Park among farmers market vendors at 9am. Anyone is welcome to wander through the exhibits but only Rutherford County FCE club members may enter the show and categories are listed in your 2018 FCE Yearbook on page 30. Some reminders for adding hours to your flowers: If you are cutting flowers from your garden, cut them in the early morning while they have a high water content and place the end of the stems in a bucket of lukewarm water. Before flowers are used in an arrangement, recut by removing about 1/2 inch of the basal portion of the stem. Use a sharp knife or shears to make a smooth clean cut. Meet our Summer Interns! Jasmine Smith I attend the illustrious Tennessee State University with a major in animal science/pre-vet, which I will receive my bachelors degree in December. I have a strong passion to care for all animals which I think is my calling. After I graduate I would love to work in a vet clinic and be an assistant to the veterinarian. Kaitlyn Stewart I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in May 2018 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Child Development and Family Studies. I also have a minor in Nutrition and Food Science. I am a former 4-H member from Wilson County. Always use a clean sterile container for arranging flowers. Thursday, July 26, 2018 The Nation's Largest Field Day Devoted to Improving the Production of No-Till Crops With a little time and effort, you can prolong the beauty of cut flowers in your home.
