1 Pi Tau Omega Chapter 86 th GLRC Delegate Report Soror Monica Craig WK 18 Sisterly Relations - Just Like a Sista: Cracking the Code Presenter: Christina Brown Richards - cdrichards97@yahoo.com Power Point slides will be posted on the GRLC Members Only website. The purpose of the workshop was to crack the Soror Code of Ethics. We are to highlight organizational values and the reduction of ethical risks. The workshop topics included: Crack the Code Just Like a Sista What the Code Means to Me Sisterhood Begins With Me Soror Richards facilitated group activities in which Sorors addressed what cracking the code really means, and sisterhood begins with me. In the first session Crack the Code, groups of Sorors used the six letters in the word ETHICS, and suggested words such as E is for excellence, T is for trust, etc. The groups then compared them with all of the workshop participants. There were many similarities. During the Just Like a Sista discussion, Sorors discussed such attributes as being polite, kind, representing AKA at all times, honesty, trust, keeping confidences, and assisting the special needs of elderly and disabled Sorors. The session What the Code Means to Me emphasized taking an ethical stance, which makes us stronger Sorors. However, we first have to be honest with ourselves. Sorors provided examples of ethical behavior such as going back to a Soror to apologize when you have wronged her. During the discussion on Sisterhood Begins With Me, the groups were given scenarios of events that have happened in chapter meetings and asked how they would handle them. Many answers focused on remembering why we became Sorors in the first place.

3 Pi Tau Omega Chapter 86 th GLRC Delegate Report Soror Monica Craig Plenary Session 3 Plenary Session 3 started with Mediation by Soror Charletta Jacks who spoke on God speaks in the storms. This was a most appropriate subject as it took Soror Jacks three days to arrive because of weather-related flight cancellations. The Legacy Parade was wonderful and included PTO family such as Soror Miriam Blanks Smart and her daughter Rachel; and Soror Linda Maurant and her nieces. The State of the Sorority Report was presented by Soror Cynthia Howell because the Supreme Basileus, Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson was not able to attend due to weather-related flight cancellations. The Full Report is included at the end of this report. It was noted that: Alpha Kappa Alpha s membership has reached a historical high of 70,509 active members. Risk management remain a tops priority. Soror surpassed the 110,000 goal for signatures in support of the Soror Ethel Hedgeman Lyle Stamp. Awards were given to Soror Toni Kendrick, Great Lakes Regional Director and chapters that went above and beyond in obtaining signatures: Nu Chapter, Iota Chapter, Beta Eta, Mu Nu Omega, Delta Tau Omega, Alpha Rho Omega.
