4 Introduction This installer menu guide is intended for those persons who are trained and authorized to operate and configure the Entero Voice Alarm Control and Indicating Equipment (VACIE) at access level 3. The different access levels for mandatory indications and controls related to mandatory functions are defined in the EN54 16:2008 standard: Access level 1 For member(s) of the general public or persons having a general responsibility for safety supervision, who might be expected to investigate and initially respond to a fire alarm or a fault warning. Access level 2 For persons having a specific responsibility for safety and who are trained and authorized to operate the VACIE in the: quiescent condition, voice alarm output condition, fault warning condition and disablement condition. Access level 3 For persons who are trained and authorized: to re configure the site specific data held within the VACIE or controlled by it (for example; labeling, alarm zoning, alarm organization), to store and change of emergency tones and messages and to maintain the VACIE in accordance with the manufacturer's published instructions and data. Access level 4 For persons who are trained and authorized by the manufacturer to either repair the VACIE or alter its firmware, thereby changing its basic mode of operation. Accessibility of indications and controls at: Access level 1 All mandatory indications (Voice Alarm condition, General errors, System faults and Power status) are visible without the need of manual intervention Access level 2 All manual control and indicators are accessibly by a special procedure: VACIE: requires a mechanical key which allows to open the front door only Entero Fire Panel: requires a mechanical key (optional) to open the door; an optional code (combination of button presses) can be used in addition to this. Entero Evacuation Panel: requires a code (combination of button presses) to enable operation of the panel. Access level 3 Requires a password to enter the setup & configuration section of the Entero ESC unit, requires special tools to open Entero components for access to internal settings & memory cards and requires a mechanical key (different from the front door) to open the rear door or to remove the side panels of the VACIE cabinet. Access level 4 Requires special tools and programming devices to service or repair Entero components. 4

5 1. Indicators access level Entero ESC Emergency System Controller: POWER GREEN: indicates power status (both 230 Vac and/or 48 Vdc). If this indicator is not illuminated (OFF) both 230 Vac and 48 Vdc are disconnected; the system is not operating. 2. SYSTEM FAULT YELLOW: indicates a failure of the internal Microprocessor or Data storage. When this indicator is turned ON, the system may not be operating correctly; urgent service of the system is required! An internal buzzer will also sound. 3. GENERAL ERROR YELLOW: indicates a failure of monitored parts of the system like: amplifiers, loudspeaker lines and connection of emergency panels. When this indicator is turned ON, the system may have serious errors; urgent service of the system is required! An internal buzzer will also sound. 4. ALARM RED: indicates the presence of a Voice Alarm condition; an emergency message or microphone announcement is active in the Voice Alarm system Entero Evacuation panel and Fire panel: Vac GREEN: indicates the 230 Vac power status; when OFF the power source is disconnected, or the unit is not yet calibrated (48 Vdc indicator also OFF) Vdc GREEN: indicates the 48 Vdc power status; when OFF the power source is disconnected, or the unit is not yet calibrated (230 Vac indicator also OFF). 3. ALARM RED: indicates the presence of a Voice Alarm condition; an emergency message or microphone announcement is active in the Voice Alarm system. 4. ERROR YELLOW: combined indication of the SYSTEM FAULT and GENERAL ERROR as indicated on the Entero ESC. When this indicator is turned ON the system may not be operating correctly; urgent service of the system is required! An internal buzzer will also sound. 5. Panel Disabled YELLOW: in normal operating mode this indicator will be illuminated if the panel disabled function is activated; it will turn OFF when the right code (key combination) is pressed. If the panel disabled indicator flashes AND the ERROR indicator & Buzzer are also turned ON, the 5

6 communication with the Entero ESC is lost. If the unit is not yet calibrated, this indicator start to flash after about 60 seconds Entero ESA Power Amplifier: PROTECT YELLOW: indicates the protection status of an amplifier channel (1 8). When the indicator is ON the channel is not operating Vac GREEN: indicates the presence of the 230 Vac mains voltage. When the indicator is OFF, the 230 Vac power source is disconnected 3. 48Vdc GREEN: indicates the presence of the 48 Vdc battery voltage. When the indicator is OFF, the 48 Vdc power source is disconnected 4. ERROR YELLOW: indicates a fault off the internal power supply. When the indicator is illuminated, the amplifier may not be operating anymore Entero EPC Emergency Power Controller: Vac INPUT GREEN/YELLOW: when this indicator is GREEN it shows a correct operating 230 Vac mains power input; when the indicator is changed to YELLOW there is an error on the 230 Vac input Vdc INPUT GREEN/YELLOW: when this indicator is GREEN it shows a correct operating 48 Vdc battery power input; when the indicator is changed to YELLOW there is an error on the 48 Vdc input Vdc OUTPUT GREEN/YELLOW: when this indicator is GREEN it shows a correct operating 48 Vdc outputs; when the indicator is changed to YELLOW there is an issues with 1 or more 48 Vdc outputs. NOTE: The Entero ESA Power Amplifiers and the Entero EPC Emergency Power Controller do not have any controls which are accessible at access level 1 & 2. Refer to the ESA and EPC installation guide for more details and configuration options at access level 3. 6
